This is the first place that mentions the Mississippi Delta as a possible national park. I'm glad I'm not the only one to have ever had that thought. Cool.

Awesome video! Big fan of how informative you are about each location. Number 7 is the one I'd be most hyped to become a National Park.

Shocked to see Hocking Hills on your list. Been going there my whole life. The area already has Wayne National Forest as well.

The cascades are amazing, Waldo Lake is really something special. The drive on the 49 around Downieville California along the Yuba river is astounding. The White Mountains and the Owens River valley is also breath taking.

US national parks are paid for with US tax dollars but large portions of a lot of them are illegally blocked from public access permanently.

Haven't been to most of those places, but I agree that Ruby Mountains could be a national park. Some current national parks shouldn't be national parks IMO.

The last thing we need are more restricted and over controlled, over regulated costly national parks

To put it in perspective, the entire national park budget is roughly equal to 25 of the 187 F-22 raptors we built. That is, it's literally a blip compared to our military spending and larger items like medicare and so on. If anything, we spend far too little on them as it is, with severe shortages of personell and money spent on upkeep.
@AUMINER1
@AUMINER1 Год назад
@@josephoberlander a raptor doesn't effect the lives of every day americans one bit, restrictive and over regulated national parks do - every single one of them should be abolished completely, along with all the bloated do nothing but hand out fines and tickets for victimless infraction$ to justify their rent seeking existence. 38k desks, 85k patrol truck$, insurance and benefit/retirement packages for life -all of it needs to be abolished.

@@AUMINER1 If you asked most Americans to list the most benign parts of the government, the national park system would be near the top of many lists. Last year alone tourism to the parks alone resulted in roughly 42 billion in positive economic impact in the parks and surrounding communiuties as well as secondary industries like sporting goods and off-roading equipment. Or roughly 10x what we spent on them. So you can't be complaining about the economics of it. Therefore it must be some personal issue you have with them based on a bad experience.
@AUMINER1
@AUMINER1 Год назад
@@josephoberlander 42 billion? 😆😆 all because of the national parks? LMAO!!! That money isn't spent because of parks, it's spent in spite of parks - please read a book on economics....you cannot tax, permit and fine any population into prosperity.
@AUMINER1
@AUMINER1 Год назад
@@josephoberlander according to you, that entire industry would disappear over night if the national park system was abolished? 😆🤣🤣😂😂
