Discovery of the astonishing, modern Alexandria Library in an Italian Architectural publication soon after completion reinforced my passion for buildings! Thanks for the reminder that it exists.
I’m currently reading the wonderful Alexandria Quartet Estina. It inspired me to visit the city and I came across your wonderful video. You have clearly put a lot of effort into it and it is very interesting - thank you so much. Your presentation style is great. One constructive comment - perhaps speak a little bit slower to ensure we can fully understand your beautiful accent. Thank you so much. 🙏🏼☀️
Thank you so much. I have one day to spend in Alexandria, and that will not be enough of course. Besides the historical places, Montaza Park and the North beach seem to offer relaxed time, and I will certainly come back for a longer stay there.
Have fun in Alexandria! Although it can be difficult to visit the historic places and Montaza on the same day, because it's at the other end of the city
I am Egyptian, but there are other places more beautiful than Alexandria . I'm coming to Lithuania soon so your videos really make me more excited to come
@@Atlasito come and do it .. there's alot places to discover it .. luxury .. Giza .. Aswan .. Siwa .. I hope you come soon. We like foreigners to come to our country
So beautiful.my mother was born there in Ibrahimia, there was a huge Italian community in Alex until the 1960s when Europeans were forced to.leave...what is the name.of the presenter lady?
Hey! Great videos. I'm going to Egypt in November and want to do a day trip from Cairo to Alexandria. Trying to decide if I want to take a tour or go on my own. I really want to visit St. Mark's Cathedral, which none of the organized tours cover. So, is St. Mark's Cathedral worth a visit? And if so, is it easy/safe to visit Alexandria as a solo traveller?
@Atlasito. Hello my father and family are from Alexandria. I have visited Cairo, toured along the Nile river and surrounding cities. I plan to go to Alexandria this summer. How is the language barrier , or do you speak arabic? Unfortunately my arabic is very minimal.
I think the language is pretty much the same as other places in Egypt. As long as you are in touristy areas, there will be some level of English. I don't really speak Arabic, but I had to learn the basics to be able to go around in Alexandria while I lived there. Talking with taxi drivers, street sellers, etc. At restaurants it's easier, most of them have english menus, but don't be surprised if some are translated by google 😁
In most Egyptian museums a separate ticket is required for photography inside. Pictures of mummies might not be forbidden in Alexandria, but when I visited the museum in Cairo it was strictly forbidden. The mummies in Cairo were moved to a different museum this year, so maybe the rules have changed
@@miklosnemeth8566 Alexandria is a rich and developed city. Who said it is a poor and clean city, and we, as Egyptians, appreciated the city of Alexandria, and the city is now witnessing a great development during the era of President Sisi
Well…. I live there and it’s like…. No comment some places have lots like LOTS of trash unlike America and the qayed bay palace is cool and do u know the cannon I found a twinkies pack in there lol I took one for free😂😂😂
Egypt would been the world best place to explore and visit.since tourism its best features. But Egypt has the most corrupt government. And poor undereducated people... Sad.
Egypt is a beautiful country and place but unfortunately, they torture and abuse animals ,we all know how cruel it is for no legal actions against that behaviour. poisoning beating dogs to death!! beating horses cows and camels, they have made picture of Egypt so pretty but when you see the violence against the animals you will be very disappointed so yes I will boycott Egypt until they take legal actions against those people.
I think this is untrue. I did get more looks in the street, because I look and dress differently and some calling "welcome" or "moza" (means beautiful (literally "banana" 😂) in Egyptian slang), but there never been anything more. However I wasn't using public transportation, or walking alone in the streets in neighbourhoods that I don't know. Stealing is much more rare in Egypt than in big European cities, I think it's because most people are religious and it's considered a sin. A local store near home in Alexandria used to leave their goods through the night in the street... There I felt much more safe than in Berlin, Milan, not to mention Barcelona. But of course while travelling in Egypt you should still care for your belongings as you would anywhere else.
