West Sikkim is one of the most beautiful places in the world. There are many tourist attractions in West Sikkim. In this video, I'm going to show you some of the best 10 tourist attractions in West Sikkim.
1.Kanchenjunga Waterfalls -At a distance of 10 km from Yuksom and 24 km from Pelling, Kanchenjunga Waterfalls is a stunning waterfall situated in the beautiful hill town of Pelling, Sikkim. It is one of the largest waterfalls in Sikkim and among the prime Pelling Tourist Places.It is a perennial waterfall situated around an hour drive from Pelling towards Yuksom. Known for its splendid beauty and glory, the waterfalls serves as a perfect picnic spot with family and friends. Situated at a sharp curve on the road side, tourists need to climb around 50 steps from the road to reach the falls.
2.Singshore Bridge-The Singshore suspension bridge is the highest bridge in Sikkim and the second highest bridge in the Asian subcontinent with over 100 meters in height. The view from the bridge is overwhelming with the sight of beautiful waterfalls and breathtaking views of green hillsides.It is located at a short distance of 5km from pelling.
3.Rabdentse Ruins-Rabdentse was the second capital of the erstwhile Kingdom after Yuksom and till the year 1814 A.D., the King of Sikkim ruled from this place. Today, the ruins lie hidden from the main road at a walking distance from the Pemayangtse Monastery. The scenic view from the top of the ruins scanning across the valley to the mystic heights of Khang-chen-Dzonga range is something to be cherished and etched in memory.
4.Khecheopalri Lake -Khecheopalri Lake is a lake located near Khecheopalri village, 147 kilometres west of Gangtok in the West Sikkim district of the Northeastern Indian state of Sikkim.Located 34 kilometres to the northwest of Pelling town, the lake is sacred for both Buddhists and Hindus, and is believed to be a wish fulfilling lake. The popularly known name of the lake, considering its location is Khecheopalri Lake, ensconced in the midst of the Khechoedpaldri hill, which is also considered a sacred hill.
5.The Pemayangtse Monastery -The Pemayangtse Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Pemayangtse, near Pelling in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim, located 110 km west of Gangtok..Planned, designed and founded by Lama Lhatsun Chempo in 1647, it is one of the oldest and premier monasteries of Sikkim, also the most famous in Sikkim. The Pemayangtse Monastery is part of Buddhist religious pilgrimage circuit .
6.Sanga Choeling Monastery-The Sanga Choeling Monastery, also spelt Sange Choeling Monastery established in the 17th century is one of the oldest monasteries in the Northeast Indian state of Sikkim. The monastery is located on a ridge top above Pelling at a distance of 7 kilometres from Pemayangtse Monastery and is accessed by walking the steep hilly track of 4 kilometres which traverses through rich forest cover.
7.River Orange Garden-At a distance of 1 km from Rimbi Falls and 13 km from Pelling, Rimbi Orange Garden is a beautiful garden located at Rimbi near Pelling. Situated near Rimbi Waterfall, it is one of the best places to visit in Pelling.Also known as Sewaro Rock Garden, Rimbi Orange Garden is a government funded orange garden. Along with orange trees, visitors can see some cardamom plants and some flowering plants here. It is well maintained and offers good views of the surrounding mountains. Tourists can access the river from the garden where one can sit on the rocks and spend some quality time in solitude. One can also buy oranges and cardamoms here.
8.Rimbi Falls-Located on the way to Khecheopalri and Yuksom, near Darap Village Rimbi Waterfall is found. It is one of the popular waterfalls in Pelling and among the places to attractions in Pelling. If you want to refresh your mind and spend time away from the crowd, visit Rimbi Waterfall. The waterfall leads to the Rimbi River and is known for its recreational activities like fishing. One of the oldest hydropower stations in Sikkim is also located close to this waterfall. First established in the early 70s, this power station supplies energy for many villa towns in West Sikkim including Geyzing, Tigjuck, and Pelling.
9.Dubdi Monastery-Dubdi Monastery occasionally called Yuksom Monastery, is a Buddhist monastery of the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism near Yuksom, in the Geyzing subdivision of West Sikkim district, in eastern India. Established in 1701, it is professed to be the oldest monastery in Sikkim and is located on the top of a hill which is about an hour's walk (3 kilometres ) from Yuksom.
10.Kaluk-Kaluk is the small village located in the Himalayan foothills of West Sikkim, near the West Sikkim capital of Gyalshing in East India. Kangchenjunga, the world's third highest peak, is visible from Kaluk. It is one of the windiest places in Sikkim and noted for destinations like the Durga Mandir, Rinchenpong Gumba and Megi Dara.
