I remember that gym battle with Juan where Ash’s Pikachu freakin' flips Milotic into the water and then delivers a super powerful Thunder for maximum damage. Talk about overkill.

Andries Velten Sun and Moon anime is bad and disapointed. Do you wanna know why? The art style is awful and not nice to look at, lack of battles, slow progress, too many boring filler episodes and too childish Ash. Also the change the formula was the worst thing they have done, im a fan of the anime and i know how the anime is about with its formula. And how Sun and Moon anime chance it to a slice of life was not a good Idea. And now when the Alola league is about to start soon, and Ash have weak and now evolve Pokémon that he Will lose easy, manufaktur should now regret that SM anime is the best.

You forgot to mention that Ash’s win against Lt. Surge was his first actual gym win. In fact, he only won three of his Kanto gym badges, while the rest were just given to him. Also, I love that most of these were Kalos gym battles. Those were the best in the entire series.

Pikachu I honestly don’t understand people’s gripes about Ramos, I mean frogadier legitimately won because it knew a coverage move in aerial ace, his Gogoat with his vine whip was really cool freakin using his frubbles as a mask to not breathe in poison powder was fucking clever, and if you watched the whole episode, Ash took some advice from the gym leader, and it helped him win

@@thefool7093 No, to me Sinnoh will always be the top, it had great fight (the two 6 vs 6 battles with Paul are still my two favourite battles in the anime) the best, both in strenght and in character, rival by a long, long, long distance in Paul, the best Ash vs rival relacionchip and the best, league. Kalos is my second tough!

Chuchuca tbf there’s actually a reason for that. It was just a weird way of displaying Swellows guts ability apparently, as Pikachu paralyses Swellow with thunder.

The pokemon X and Y battles where so good! You probably couldn've made this list just Gen 6 gyms... Also, if we are talking about battles in general and not just gym battles. Ashe vs Sawyer (final 6v6 battle, mega sceptile vs Ashe-Greninja was amazing), Ashe vs Paul (the one that ashe won) and Ashe vs that other rival from X and Y in the finals of the pokemon league (honestly I forgot his name)). Will probably all be on here!maybe do that next, or elite four and champion battles

Ash vs that guy who used Avalugg in the gym battle in kalos is one of my all time favorites. The fact that it's what caused Ash's bond with Greninja to break and for the first time actually make Ash feel like giviing up was such a huge hard hitting moment. Loved how it was executed.

@@reubensalter8125 Ash and Brock's battle was just a sprinkler copout. Fuschia gym was underwhelming beyond belief (just compare it to Ash vs Ramos or something) and Ash vs Blaine is basically Blaine vs a wild pokemon since Ash actually didn't do anything

korrina's lucario gets busted by anything with a tedious amount of power to it there is no point pitching one of the greatest mons up against that thing,lest you're prepared to see a 4 second match then go for it what we need to see is gurkinn's lucario in action,maylene's lucario-the same one which swept Ash's sinnoh team in action as well,that'd be for sure fun to watch

Not just the animation, but also the choreography due to them being done on 3D arena's which allow for some amazing similated camera movement on the fields.

I love the animation quality in X and Y series and then it improve much higher with XYZ. Take that plus with the most excited and intese battles, you got the best seasons in the Pokémon anime ever.

I liked the first battle with Wulfric because Wulfric came up with a kick ass strategy. the rematch with Wulfric was terrible i think, because Pikachu lost to Avaulagg and Greninja stole the spotlight. they should at least make Pikachu defeat Avaulagg too and then lose to Mega Abomasnow because of low HP and low energy.

That fight was utter bs. So many things wrong with it. Like y would Pikachu use thunder on itself and Swellow? Like that’s just dumb. And how did Swellow survive it and y did it turn into Bird Jesus? And how did Ash know that would happen? Also for some reason light screen sent thunder back to ash even tho that’s not what light screen does. The only list that belongs in is top 10 worst animie fights. The fact u even mentioned it is criminal and crazy.

I always loved the Ash vs. Olympia fight due to how freaking gorgeous it looked. Not to mention being a double battle Gym done right without any "Lighting armor" nonsense

Pikachu paralysed swellow to get out his guts abillity in that fight. guts is an abillity that increases damage when you have a status condition

It says something on how epic the XY gym battles are with 4 being in the top 10 and Wulfric Vs Ash rematch could’ve easily been in there too(wish the game gym battles could’ve been this intense 😔)

I feel like there were 3 missing that were my personal favorite. Wolfric rematch, Candace fight and fantina gym battle. Other than that pretty accurate.

Gen 6 is the breakthrough of Pokemon animation. I mean, the well-animated scenes are all from Kalos. (Unfortunately they downgraded in gen 7)

Chalid Aulia I know right. XY and XYZ have the best animation quality in the anime so far. But for SM animations is not bad but just as you said downgraded, almost a bit primitive. I just hope Sword and Sheild anime Will have higher animation quality like XY(Z).

@Batflip 09 I get what you mean and I agree about the op thing. But probably he was talking about the art and animation. Gen 7 is overusing still frames which make most of the battles less epic. The only good fights in SM imo is Brock vs Kiawe, Ash vs Misty, and Ash vs Hau. They were probably using different animatior team for those episodes

tbh gen 4 has the best everything. Best pokemon league,best rival battles,best character development with main characters(dawn,paul).Also the saddest episodes with cacnea,dustox leaving and the final episode.

@@ventrue7 Hands down Paul was the best rival. I loved how they had a clash of ideals that push both of them to there limit as trainers. This is what a rival should be compered to the other season.

i was looking for ash vs clay. that fight had a lot of build up and didn't disappoint. Most of ash's unova gym battles were only ok, but vs clay and vs roxie were pretty good. Otherwise, not a bad list though.

Chikorita used Sweet Scent, not Sweet Smell. Mylene's Lucario did *NOT* use Extrasensory. That's a different attack altogether of the Psychic type.

The Carina one is bad and honestly super forgettable. I have no idea how it got number 1. It’s just such a random and unforgettable one to be at number 1. The other ones I can understand y they were on here but not that one. Gen 4 had amazing fights (I think the Roark fight should’ve been on here). And Volkner definitely should’ve been number 1. Just based on the Infernape arc and that’s the fight that it finally mastered Blaze (which they didn’t even mention in the video which is dumb). It not being in at least the top 3 is criminal.
