It’s beautiful!! Wifey and I bought our first rv , Jayco 12 foot box, ice box and roof air and pump sink! Loved it and that was back in 89.😂 Moving forward I’ve a 2021 gulfstream 33 foot class C and we’ve done a lot of mods to it and love it by my heart is with the pop ups. We’re in our mid sixties and in good shape but my wife won’t go with a pop up anymore. Looking at yours makes my mouth water, such a sweet camper. I miss not having one, so much easier to work on and do stuff to and they’ve come a long way. Great video my friend, really.
I just got the 22.Pumped to use it! I was apprehensive about handing the D rings in the ceiling. I was no problem???? All awesome ideas! Cant wait to get get to work
Your my hero, I have the 1970 ESP model and had it for only a couple of years but still trying to get use to it first. Trying to camp more this yrs. and mod it up but still undecided what to do. Thanks for sharing your mod up.
Your #1 modification will probably be my #1 modification too, when I finally take the plunge and buy my first pop-up camper. I will plan on replacing the three-way refrigerator with either a 12V DC or 120V AC refrigerator.
Thanks for the great ideas! My best mod on my trailer is a hot water recirc line for dry camping. Push button actuated solenoid valve on a 12-second timer, it will get hot water to the inside sink without running down the drain. A second press of the button gets the hot water to the outside shower to was dishes. Push buttons are at both sink and outside shower, and the water returns to the puny 10 gallon pot water tank.
#1 mod is electrical. My 20 year old camper isn't as good, but the rebuilt system allows you add in the extra 12v hook ups for fridges and the extra usb. I also like the hanging storage. It makes packing and take down so much easier. Great ideas, man, thank you.
Can u camp where bears have bears spotted in a popup..in a national park we were told no to our popup bears had been sighted in the last weeks..love ur rig
I have a 2019 2280 esp without the bath setup. We went with 6” air mattresses under the stock ones. Totally different sleeping experience. I fill them from the side curtain before attaching the Velcro. Great videos, thanks!
Hope you have a great 4th. Just bought a Rockwood 2318 ESP 2022. Gonna do some of your mods for sure. Wondering where you got your water Jerry can racks. Let me know when you have time. Thanks so much.
So what I did I ordered one of these Premium Mattress Encasement Waterproof Fully Encased Zippered Protector 6 Sided Cover Machine Washable Breathable RV Short King 72 by 75 inches Fits 5-7 inch Depth and one of these BedStory 2 Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Gel Infused Toppers for King Size Bed, Premium Mattress Pad with Removable Soft Cover, Ventilated Design & High-Density Memory Foam and put them together with and pos mattress lol. I was able to close the pop up with this.
@@cozcohut2617 ok, do you own the 2280esp? My roof wouldn’t close if I added anything to the king side, because of the door hanging above the king bed. Sounds like you have a nice 10” mattress now, is that correct with all the additional mattresses on top of the OEM mattress
Can you make a video showing how your roof mounted solar panels are wired? I'd like to mount solar panels to my roof, but am unsure of how to run the wiring from the roof to inside the trailer
On my 19' 2280bhesp Rockwood there was a fabric channel of wires already going to the roof for the lights etc. next to the front support arm. The solar wires run in the channel as well - is your camper pre-wired for solar with MC4 connection on the roof?
@@One2ManyHobbies unfortunately it's not pre wired, I'll have to add a similar connection. Another option I'm considering is running the wires behind an existing light on the roof
any tips on finding the "studs" in the camper ceiling? Or do you just use a type of anchor? They now make "packing cubes" that are very affordable options to those hanging bins.
Nice! Very impressive on all items. Do you ever camp in bear country? I'm curious what you do with the coolers, chuck box and outdoor stove. At Yellowstone, our relatives got a ticket for leaving their Blackstone out while we were out sightseeing.
@@AdventuresinPopUps We're going to camp along the Conejos River in SE Colorado - should be fun! I'm going to buy a 2nd 5 gallon cassette, this is our biggest weakness.
I also plan to do the drawers on both side and the lights. I have a question where did you get the metal rack that goes under the cabinet? Thx for responding to my posts.
Nice, double drawers is nice!! I wanna see some pics of your camper? Send me a message on IG or email me! Home Depot is where I got the metal rack & chain.
On our high wall I just replaced the refrigerator with a 12v model from Rec Pro. So far so good. We will see how it works this summer. The 3-way was surprisingly easy to remove.
Nice! I like that it runs off propane, however I don't like that it's really hard to regulate the temp. - I have to to turn off the refrigerator at night so it doesn't freeze when it's cold outside.
Great ideas. Thank you. We are at the moment thinking on how to improve our personal stuff storage.. And I was exactly thinking on how we could use the celliing to hang some stuff. Do you think that only this U hang with screws is enough? Will it not damage the celliing? Band the metal?
We were thinking of taking out the 3 way fridge that never works and putting in a slide out shelf to hold our 12v dometic. Also has anyone replaced their door? i was looking to replace ours but havent seen to many idea's? we have a 2014 forest river viking
Question about your outdoor kitchen / checkbox: where do you store it at night? If you are camping in national parks (or elsewhere), there may be bears and other larger animals that will be attracted.
I don't camp in bear country, but we just got back from Southern Colorado up in the mountains this summer, not really bear country either, just closed it up at night & left it set up - No issues. If you're in Bear Territory, I would put it in the back of the truck at night and lock it up.
Great vid!! I did a few of your mods on my 1910 esp and was wondering if you could go in depth a little more on your inverter mod? I would love to upgrade mine but dont know where to start honestly. I run a 200watt solar kit that i made for the camper but it does not seem to charge the batts as much as i would like. Im running 2 lead acid batteries and they used to be great but now the are showing age.
I installed the exact Victron Multiplus under a seat in my truck camper. Being in a confined space, I found that it ran very hot. I ended up venting the space which helped a bit.
Dude bought this pop up for $6,400 and dude DIY'ed everything himself, saving thousands - This dude's only got about $12K into it, and I'll probably get it all back when I sell. Thanks for watching! :) lol
chugging along implementing your video’s. Wish I had that climate controlled garage to do those upgrades :-)…. So on that 12v receptacle install for the dual fridges (yes we did exactly what you did after watching this)…how did you wire the receptacles? I anticipate you are drawing 4-6amps, so is the positive going directly the the battery in line with fuse, a dedicated 15amp dc circuit, or piggy backing existing 10 amp circuits? Also did you connect the negative dc to the trailer frame or home run back to the battery?
I installed a dedicated DC fuse block, and I already installed a ground fuse block on that side of the camper for my couch storage light, so I just screwed the negative wire into that. www.amazon.com/dp/B000THQ0CQ/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_C00TTDERZXWYAEV3XM0R?linkCode=ml2&tag=lancew09-20
Awesome, as always!!….I just got the sub Panel and Neg bus bar, thank you. Just watched your other videos on how you installed both light upgrades and connected the neg bus to the frame. Need to do some research on connecting that Sub Panel on the OEM electrical system (not the Victron rewire), but I will figure it out!! Again, GREAT WORK…and my wife loves your under camper and in cabinet light ideas…She put it on my to do list. Thank you again…BTW, I have not seen it on your videos, but you might want to consider a gizmo sun block for over the canvas. We are in Florida, and it literally drops the temperature in the bed compartments significantly! Also helps protect and keep canvas clean from falling nature. Thank you!!!!!
@@oceanfrank1 awesome! Have fun, we don’t came in the hotter months - that’s why you’ve never seen it, we’re winter campers only. I enjoy a nice fire at night!
we just bought rockwood 1910esp. plead fo a video on the electrical upgrade. i have 3 100 amp batteries, charge controller and solar panels. just need help with the inventory and options. want to use the a/c o batteries but belive i should add 2 more 100 amp batteries. thank u
Running the A/C on lithium batteries in a pop up isn’t realistic - not enough room for batteries or solar panels. You’ll be able to run the a/c but for how long??? 2-3 hrs maybe. Then how do you re-charge?
