Polar Pro has Air 3 ND Filters that are dual glass. So each camera gets a slightly different amount of ND filter. They work great and match up both cameras perfectly!

Most of the issues you talked about could easily be solved by either downgrading to the Mini series of drones or upgrading to the Mavic 3 family, the air series is exactly what it is, a middle ground, you want more storage and a better camera, get a Mavic 3 you want something smaller ? Get an air 2s or something in the mini series. For what it costs and it’s capabilities the air 3 is an EXTREMELY good drone

Appreciate your opinion on the DJI Air3 great points…. But knowing DJI it’s about getting tech out quickly to get sales… now I still think the Air3 isa great Drone sits right in the middle off mini & Mavic series. I also believe the Air3 camera technology (stacked sensors) is an upgrade to the Air2S which I’ve owned. Plus that O4 is out of this world All in all should be a fun drone to own!

Personally love my air 3. It's my first pro drone as a photographer, so i can't compare to the previous ones. I think the price point is great if I don't want to spend Mavic money, but need something better than a mini series. I think the large weight makes it more stable. According to the manual, it can handle 12 m/s winds, which is 23 kts. However, I was getting strong wind warnings at 16 kts. But video was still good.

Hi, great comments. However, the light gathering ability of a camera is defined by the f-ratio, not the sensor size. The smaller the f-ratio, the greater the light gathering. The Air 3 has a more efficient sensor than the Air 2. The quantum efficiency (QE) of most any size CMOS sensor is similar, therefore it's the f-ratio that rules for low light.

Sold my mini 1 in februari and ordered this drone yesterday cant wait to test it , to finally be able to get filés i can work more with and color grade but i do wish it had a lens that is not stuck at 1.7.. little shocked that is almost as big as the mavic cause i loved the size of the mini

I have a Mini 4 Pro but, I still LOVE flying my Air 2S mostly for it's stability in flight and the camera is excellent. I'm holding off buying the Air 3 in case and of course they will come out with the Air 3S or Air 4 in the next 8 to 12 months. Hopefully they will incorporate some of your suggestions.

I appreciate these comments and 100% agree the not including a battery charger....or at least making making sure customers know they will need one is inexcusable. They should put in their advertising in BOLD PRINT: "You will need to buy a separate charger to use this product - when you buy a "Fly More Combo" you will get a coupon for 25% off the DJI 100watt charger"! The rest of the issues in the video I can live with and do think this drone is a great value overall. Also the Air 2 does NOT take higher quality video than the Air 3 - the Air 3 has a more efficient sensor.

in central Europe (SK) the FLY More COMBO is also sold with a battery box, also without a charger... but what annoys me the most is that it uses a 12MPx photo on the panoSphere, even though I have it set to 48MPx... and it can't raise the camera enough. ..

Would it be possible for you to check what frame rates are available in Slow Motion? And what is the frame rate of a video file it saves on SD card? totally in agreement. in fact, what you describe is DJI's principle business model. their reason of existence is to upgrade as often as possible and to hell with any legacy cross compatibility. they offer just enough improvements to get people excited I gotta have it syndrome and leave what came before on the ash pile.

Well done and I can understand all of your points. The best part for me was reinforcing why I have held off on a purchase of Air 3. I already own a Air 2S, a Mavic 3 Classic and the Mini 3 Pro. So I am looking for optical zoom. I do not see paying $1500 bucks for optical zoom on the Air 3. Is it technically not possible to develop a clip on lens to provide optical zoom? Sure you have to take the drone down to install a clip on. I think in most cases you know you are going to want zoom when you plan a shoot. How about this? A consumer level drone with interchangeable cameras or lenses. I am convinced that DJI is consumer baiting and simply just getting folks to chase the rabbit farther down the hole one perceived “upgrade” at a time. I still think DJI makes the highest quality products. Grump old man. 😠 😂

Good points. Just sold my Skydio 2+ and received a new Air 3. Please use your Jet-eye powers and ask DJI to update the Air 3 to show a "shadow" when landing. I sure miss that feature. Its helpful when its necessary to have a pin point landing spot.

I have yet to get the Live Stream to work on this drone.. After over 25 emails to DJI its still not working. Had No issues with my old Mavic air 2. Not happy with my new purchase so far.

Phone companys have also not included charger for years, so many have usb c in new cars and homes. New controller, newer signal system, you can fly with future drones like mini 4 pro.. and never know if they will have a update that will others also work.. like they did with integra, goggles 2.. that now work with cine drones and fpv. About batterys, is mavic 3 pro heavyer. So i guess bigger motors?and also diferent voltage for that?

The fly more combo on the Air 3? It has a triple charging block. Also you can plug USB into drone with battery in it and charge.

but charging block is not charger actually, it's just storage/charging chub, so you don't have shuffle batteries in one slot

I've been researching drones, specifically dji for about a month. It seems they are worse than the two cell phone companies Apple and Samsung. They don't put all the features in the top model in its teir. Some newer models are a down grade. They sometimes don't come with what you need to fly it. They all look a like to someone newish. The backwards/cross capability for remotes and software could be far better.

It doesn't have a charger b/c the charger makes a difference. I have actually overheated my Mini3 batteries where the connections became loose in battery-connection, I bent them back into function. So maybe the 65w is more for longevity & the 100w is if you keep everything discharged & want to fast-charge at 82w instead(82 is the max). Those cheaper 100w chargers might overheat & throttle below 82w, possibly something to test. I'd suggest the design difference between the Mavric vs Air3 batteries are to allow product testing IRW scenarios.

1) I don’t agree about adding a charger to the kit. Now many manufacturers do not put them in, since people have already accumulated a lot of them. And this is an additional cost. I myself have a 100W charger.

I appreciate your video and comments. Coming from owning a Mavic Pro for the last 5 years to buying this Air 3 last week. Here's my perspective: 1. Agree that a charger should have been included. Especially considering the required 100W needed to charge them. Most people (myself included) don't have this brick and will need to purchase one. 2. While it sucks that the apertures are fixed, it's not a big deal to me. Knowing they have to cut out things to reach a certain price point makes this less important to me. 3. No 6K video is an issue I don't care about. Most of the footage you get at that resolution won't be playable or viewable on anything higher than 4K anyways. 4. Since the VAST majority of people buying a drone (maybe even this drone specifically) don't buy each and every drone that becomes available from DJI, I don't have an issue with the controller ONLY working with this drone. Again, coming from someone who previously owned a Mavic Pro and bought this drone, this is a non issue. 5. Size isn't important. If I had wanted a smaller drone, I would have gone with the Mini. This being close to a Mavic 3 in size, but priced less and still having 360 obstacle avoidance was the winner for me. 6. This drone was perfectly marketed for people like me that have older drones but have been waiting for something like a Mavic 3, without the price tag of a Mavic 3. 7. Agree that the 8 GB of storage is a joke, but it's not like most people buying this drone don't already have a larger capacity Micro SD Card. It is rather insulting though. 8. Haven't tried Night Mode yet. But based on your info, it doesn't look like it is much of an improvement. 9. Good call out here! I will check my own footage and see how it goes. 10. Again, the battery not being compatible with other drones is a non issue for me since I don't buy each and every DJI drone that exists. 3rd world problems? 🙂 I'm most disappointed with the Active Track and it only recognizing certain things. Trying to get it to recognize me on a motorcycle is quite frustrating and only lasts a few seconds. Come on DJI!

Great video, everybody covers the obvious good points of these drones, it’s nice to see somebody talk about some of the areas that it’s not very good in, you did a really good job of that without being negative. As somebody who has an air 2S and is pretty happy with it, but wondering if it’s worth it to jump to the air three, I found this extremely helpful, you covered a lot of the points I was wondering about and now I see no reason to upgrade, I’ll wait for the air 4. I use my drone for primarily photography, so having the bigger sensor is very important to me and kind of a dealbreaker if I had to downsize in any way.

Dji should have Done this --- Dji Mini 3 and 3 pro with 1/1.3" - CMOS sensor, Dji Air 3 and 3s with 1" sensor and Dji Mavic 3 and 3 pro with 4/3" type sensor. This way there is a clear differnece between the Mini, Air and the Mavic. The Mavic 3 cassic should have been the Air 3s.

@@HalfChrome like with mini 3 and Mavic 3 use 1 lens. Air 3 with 2 lenses and have the air 3S with 1 inch f1.7 sensor. With the air 3 pro 2 lenses, and Mavic pro use 3 lens set-up. If they want they can add the classic now with 2 lens. At least these users know the difference.

Everything about this video, for me is just DJI doing what they do best. A new drone every 6 months that is just that much better that its worth considering but with proprietary batteries and proprietary accessories, controllers, and more. Or they'll add some new software feature that they could've easily done on the older drones but did not, just to make this one worth it. They had the technology to build this drone years ago. But their choosing to take baby steps to take as much money out of consumers pockets as possible. Their trying to make owning the latest drone like owning the latest flagship phone. The best thing we can do to help DJI give us what we want is not to buy their latest flagship until it really is a whole lot better. Don't fall for these baby steps, make them sweeten the deal until its too good to pass up. In my opinion the mini 3 pro, was that drone where they packed enough features that it really was a significant step up from previous drones. But don't fall for these incremental steps until they deliver the big ones. Here's a list of features that DJI adds or removes to try and make a drone just barely worth it: Digital zoom, compatibility with existing accessories, obstacle avoidance, fpv system support, brand new proprietary accessories, new shooting modes, Camera specs, aircraft size and weight. Are there any that I missed?

you were flying near to a antenna.. what was you were expecting for with that high interference site? it seems already air 3 handled the situation in an awesome was just by wobbling.. and another thing o4 is a new connection protocol and you again expecting an older connection way to be installed inside an high technology rc controller lol.... you must think over for your expectations in using high end devices :D ....

I have the Air 3 fly more combo on the way for free with my review. But still it sucks for the 1549.99 retail price a 100w charging brick is not included. I just ordered a Anker 100w usb-C and Usb-A charging brick for 44.99. less than half of what DJI wants for theirs. I also recieved the DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone and RC1 free for my review, and it was included with a dual usb charging brick. Also dumb the 3 line uses different batteries, they should all be compatible with each other and the RC's as well!😢

Howdy, LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! "Huston we have a problem"!! A problem with the AIR 3 at night! Throughout YOU TUBE all the critiques of the AIR 3 occur during the day! Few are focused on "nighttime" flying!" With respect to flying at night; hardly any address safety concerns'!! After flying the AIR 3 for 30 minutes (without a hitch) "time to replace the battery"! Upon replacing the battery in the AIR 3, the drone took off as normal and immediately headed for the Gulf of Mexico; 1500 miles away!! The data on the controller supports this statement! Thank Goodness for my neighbor's tree!! Or I would have been on CNN! "Drone hits oil rig in the Gulf!!" SHOUT OUT!! Best BUY!! I bought extended warranty; BB replaced my smashed up/departed/lamented drone!! Take Care! Your diction is similar to a school teacher!!

Know what that rectangular opening is on the top of the Air 3 from the logo back to the battery compartment? It's for a cellular module that we will probably never see in the US that also has a module in the RC-2. The big claim to fame is strong 100 % signal down at street level while flying in a city environment. The FAA will never go for it 😒 Mini 4 is O4 and the retail box shows Waypoints as well as omni directional OA. You csn fly that with the RC-2. O4 uses 6 antenna on the controller- both RC-2 AND RC-N2 have 6 antenna. Itvwas the SAME groans when Air 2S went to O3 - except O3 could be implemented in Firmware on many controllers - DJI enabled the old Smart Controller, which had only 2 antennas though and many were pissed it worked poorly with Air2S. DJI wants to avoid that this time most likely 🙄

sorry mate the only grip that YOU have with the Air 3 that I agree with is the internal storage size I say make it 128gb, but the rest I disagree with i have flown it since it has come out nearly every day and flight time have been above 30 minutes, flown in 30 mph wind with no issues night mode is great and the Mavic 3 battery isn't the same size, after all these grip[s you say are YOUR grips.

@@HalfChromeProblem 11 is you can not fly the DJI Air 3 with DJI Googles V2 and the RC-N2 Controller 👎... Dji FPV and the DJI Avata can be flown with DJI Googles V2 and the DJI remote Controller 2. That is strange from DJI...

I have a DJI Drone... but, i will NEVER buy another DJI drone.. 1: As you said, they force you to buy new/different batteries by making batteries not compatible amongst all their drone (at least in the same CLASS) 2: Battery prices are getting more and more ridiculous. 3: Lots of what you said in this video.

DJI must have been sold to a Hedge Funds firm. They want the quality and integrity to fall, so the sentiment to go down, then the price per share goes down, and the sell off brings in money to the brokerage firms who's total mission is to reap the rewards of buying stocks going up, or, when they can't go any higher, selling them going down.

It\s videos like these that still make me not want to upgrade from the air 2S. Thanks for keeping it real...... Still gonna hang on to my work horse for now... I see no usbale upgrade with the air 3 besides battery life but I have a bunch of air 2S batteries at this point so I'm fine. I feel like Dji is going the wrong direction with drone. It used to be a fun thing before but just like phone,s its more of a capitalist approach rather than an innovative approach that solves a problem. The Air series seems to not have a place at the moment being between the mini and the Mavic series. But being the only drone companie that dominates that industry they can do what ever they want but untill I see a significant update to the Air 2S, they wont have my money.

DJI’s drones are so good that you’ll find yourself skipping several models before having a need to purchase a new drone. My original Mavic Pro still flies believe it or not. I just need to source dependable batteries for me to trust it in the air.

What is the problem with it's tracking? Why is it not very good? I do agree with you about the battery, crazy that it's not interchangeable and the price is mad. And no charger, what a joke on a drone that costs this much.

My gripe is the BS that you can get 46 minutes flight time... that is an outright lie. I have the Air 3 and mini 4 pro and both get around 30 - 32 minutes max. I flew both on a windy day and the Air 3 wanted to RTH after 22 minutes and the mini 4 wanted to return at 26 minutes. The longest flight on my air 3 is 32 minutes, according to my RC2 log. So, how does one get 46 minutes on either the Air or mini (with plus batteries)? Greetings from Down Under

They both want to return at 20 - 22 % remaining battery. I use Freewell split ND filters on my Air 3 and I use a controller cover with sun shade and bumps where the sticks are, so you close the 'clam shell' cover and the sticks and screen can't be bumped. Can let the controller hang when using and never have to remove the sticks when stored.

Thanks for this layout .You're right, Dji has lost thir consumer view,altel as well, appreciate the review. For example, you nailed it with that. The other thing I realized you have a drone that goes 12 miles away but you can't even fly at 12 miles and have it come back while I was watching a show where they were in the desert flying that drone and it had a spotter and they couldn't turn back around to fly back home. What's the point of that like you said? The drone gets only 30 some minutes or 30 minutes, flight time of 46. Very disappointed I was gonna buy one, but I'm not. I'd rather get a older version. Thank you for your truthful run down

Understand that Dji doesn't care about you one iota.They only care about your money. They also realize that they have somewhat of a monopoly. Trust and believe that backwards incompatibility, and non interchangeable components is very much intentional its just a matter of time before they have an actual competitor for ariel photography or a Co. That can do it better for cheaper. Imagine if Samsung partnering with microsoft decided to make some drones DJI might be history or they will start to act like they care about you and your money. So they're getting all they can while they can.

Thanks for the review. It is so typical that DJI would do all of this incompatibility with their products. This has to be deliberate! The bottom line is tons of money flowing to China to buy their products. Too bad there is no one that is able to come close to DJI's quality and large hold on the drone market to force them to cut this slick BS. They got buyers by the testes! So sad.

You forgot to say other most important things: 1) You CANNOT switch between the WIDE and TELE cameras once you hit record 2) There is no smooth zooming option you just press the 1x, 3x, 6x etc which is digitally enhanced (who will use that modes) 3) No zoom rocker 4) No 5D button! (even my MAVIC 1 had this amazing mini joystick that you could manipulate the gimbal and camera!) 5) No HORIZONTAL mode! 6) Sensors, cameras are too close to the ground there is literally no protection if you land on a rough area! (My mavic 1 was higher from ground) 7) No charger (you mentioned that) and battery takes forever to charge 8) Fake advertisement about the 46-Min Max Flight Time

Great points! I personally go only with the mini series for legislation and travel convenience. But i dont get who would buy the air 3. To me its like a mini 3 pro with a zoom. If 250g was not a big deal for me i would go for mavic instead of the air 3.and your point on the battery and remote control are very good. Dji just want to sell more stuff... but clearly people buying their drone have money to pay what it need but would like the convenience of having to carry just one set of equipment.

I was more upset that not ND Filter Set was in the Fly More kit than the lack of a charging g brick. It also added $100 to the price..That was some slight of hand abd DJI told me it was "to give buyers options and "keep the price down" - sure... artificially making it look less expensive- taking a page from phone makers. Worse, DJI's 4 pack NDs are not "Split" like the Mavic 3 Pro set (has 2 stops less light reduction on the 166mm/7x Telephoto) this one needs it more with the huge gap in Aperture. Fortunately Freewell immediately stopped selling the NDs they put out at first and now have a "Split" set that puts the next darker filter on the 24mm. (ND64 bottom 1x camera ND32 top 3x camera for example)

Awesome video!! I share in some of those complaints. One complaint I have is the RC2 controller saves screen recordings and captures to the internal storage of the controller regardless of whether or not you are using and SD card. Speaking to some of my friends, the previous generation RC did not do this. If you used an SD card it would save the screen recordings and captures to the SD card which is how I feel it should do otherwise there isn't any point in using an SD card in the controller.

None of these problems are actual problems, if anything they are small inconveniences but without slight inconveniences what would be the reason to buy the next model, but I guess content must be made.

@@ernesthall7121 Thats the reason I refer to them as complaints. But I do think that if RC2 is stuck on the current storage path, there really isn't a purpose for the SD card slot. Again, just a complaint about something that doesn't follow what should be a logical path.

Ok video but the things you don't like aren't necessarily what someone else doesn't like. Me for instance I have a air 2s I love it, but I just got my air 3 and it's pretty cool. It has alot of features that my air 2s doesn't have the flight time being top of the list. I just don't tend to tell people what I dislike about things, every one has their own opinion. Sorry there is so many things you don't like, but I'll say I love mine!
