Yes I upgraded to an x1c a few months ago and it is absolute magic. Also the A1 mini is fantastic too

It has been a game changer for me. I design terrain for tabletop gaming, and I do a lot of prototyping. I also design functional parts for everyday tools and uses. I’m a tinkerer as a well, but I needed something that just work without spending time to make sure everything work. That printer have so much positive things. And the quality in the details are mind blowing.

If you live near a Microcenter they have X1C bundles with AMS for $1229. They are refurbished but Mine was like new. MC had printed a validation cube and there was a bit of the filament in the extruder but everything else was as new. It didn't come with all 3 spools normally in a new box, the one they used for the cube wasn't in it but the release filament and the PLACF was. saving the $270 means I can but a couple of new hot ends, spare belts, build plates and a bunch of filament for the cost of a new one. Very happy after a month of constant 24/7 use.

You are going to love it. Although I’m a tinkerer, I am mainly a designer. It has been a game changer for prototyping and as a bonus surprise, it has amazing detail quality even in draft mode. I design terrain for tabletop gaming. So it’s pretty much stuff for toy soldiers of 28mm in heights. The quality is amazing, the speed is amazing at regular speed.

@@whoa_guy some people might when a new one comes. Thats the lifecycle of electronics. Just in results this has not been a regret even if a month later a new one came out. It has been a game changer with my workflow 3D modelling and prototyping.

not about the printer but what camera are you using, very impressive quality and Im assuming it is a 360 camera based on some of your shots but have never seen a 360 camera do so good with dewarping the image.

great buy, and what was the container and display that you added to the AMS, very neat and useful. Recommended?

I found the model on Maker World. They are desiccant holders that are designed for the AMS. One has a recess for a small humidity sensor unit with a display. makerworld.com/en/models/158496#profileId-173988 This helps to keep the filament dry. Buy the desiccant in bulk on Amazon through this affiliate link. amzn.to/3UUevqE I like this desiccant because it changes color when it is saturated with collected moisture. Here is an Amazon affiliate link to the Hygrometer that fits into the desiccant holder. amzn.to/3R4d2gl

It doesn't have Lidar , and more material support like the X1C, but isn't the Bambu P1S a good option? How much would it cost to print a 6-hour object, from a print-farm business? I imagine having someone else do the print is going to be the better option if if you're only going to do a print every once. Any thoughts on the Infimech TX printer?

I had a P1S before the X1. It's a great printer and a good value. The Lidar, touch screen, hardened nozzle and gear, and camera are the big differences. P1S vs. X1 Carbon was about a $500 difference. For me, these extra features were worth the difference in price. If you don't plan to make many things, a lesser printer for prototyping, combined with a printing service provider could be a good choice. I like the convenience of having a really good system available to me whenever I want it.

depends on your use case. they are very comparable. the p1s can be upgraded for the extruder and nozzle to hardened steel... so they can both print the same materials. the x1c has a bed temp of 120c vs the 100c on the p1s. this won't matter on much material... EXCEPT polycarbonate. that's pretty much gonna lock you into x1c. everything else... they can both print .... though x1c will be able to do nylon faster. though keep in mind that is insanely hard to print and both will struggle. you'll just struggle less with the x1c. also... while the p1s nozzle and gears can upgrade... note they will be almost $100+ ... so that reduces the cost difference.

Got the x1c because I work with multiple materials for prototyping. But for my main work I would be getting a P1S as I need only to print with PLA.
