I've had mine for more years now than I can remember. It is robust, tough and heavy. I just had a lawn treatment done and was advised to 'water it in", so my tractor is running on low speed right now, to get more water out I had to look here to see which way, left or right, to flip the lever on the tractor to get low speed.. Thanks, nice video.
@Roger__Wilco wow. Good eye! yes, she is a whippet. She will be fourteen this October and I agree, great demeanor. I'm a kids dentist and until Covid I used to bring her to my office every day (wife works from home now). Kids would grab at her, poke her kiss her, never ever any fear of her nipping or being agressive. She would just look at them while lying there calmly. Tough in NY though, she hates the cold! Thanks for making me think about how awesome she is. So much going on day to day, we tend to forget.
We have one of those ourself. It’s pretty old. Already had to replace the motor, and it looks like we’ll be needing to do it again, as the socket has split a bit. Just got new arms, too (the old ones, as far as I’m aware, were original). It’s pretty nice for the areas we can use it in. I wish we could use it on our whole lawn (rough terrain, as in tree roots). I find that if it jumps the hose, the turns are too tight. Make gradual turns, and it doesn’t have this issue.
I have a walking sprinkler like that one (maybe not same brand). They can walk off the hose heading off into the sunset & get stuck, but really only way to water my large yard. Good advice on a bigger diameter strong hose to try to hold on track.
Ha. I have one for the front and one for the back. But it’s the green Orbit brand version. Love these…I didn’t want to dedicate my life to moving a sprinkler, so my grass got terrible until getting these
It's super nice to have for a larger yard to water. A neighbor has a L shape to his front yard that he just has run along the middle to cover his hole front and side yard and I am jealous.
Great video. I just purchased one from a yard sale but I have a question when I start my rain train the top sprinkler unthreads it self and pours out the top. Lol how do I fix that if you have any suggestions
Dude you should totally buy a rainbird diy inground sprinkler kit, but maybe buy the parts separately and an orbit 4zone bhyve timer. Ive done this for my front, sides, and back. Its perfect!
I just bought one and cannot see it moving, on low or high speeds. Wondering what could be wrong. The front and back wheels are straddling the hose, the heads are pointed as the picture shows so it moves forward. It says to pull the stopper out, but mine is spring loaded so stays out automatically unless you push it in, as when it goes over the stop ramp. Any ideas? Thanks for your video!
Do you think this would work with a market style garden, where we have long beds with wood chip paths? I'm guessing it might struggle with that terrain? Thanks!
