I'm not sure if tiger is correct since they mostly live in forests. However, they would have a far higher chance of obtaining the title than lions. They could inhabit jungles in India but I'm not positive about that.

Besides “falling from the sky is what many people say, but they’re just ignorant of the fact that perigrine falcons and many other diving birds use their WINGS while their diving to steer and also to minimize wind resistance. I love how you made the Peregrine Falcon #1. So many people think this list only specifies land speed. Albeit, the cheetah is pretty impressive, you have to be absolute boss to withstand forces of 240+ mph. Peregrine Falcon is one of my favorite animals.

Rev Raptor yeah they are more than twice as fast . . . but if you think about it when did Wile E Coyote actually chase the road-runner (he mostly just set traps that back-fired) . . . but the road-runner is a freakish giant of a road-runner so maybe he was faster than a coyote . . . . but in reality it isn't even a contest . . . quadrupeds will always have the upper hand when it comes to speed compared to bipeds

For anyone who still doesn't know that Lions do indeed live in the Jungle, Ethopian Lions live in the lush tropical jungles of Ethopia, Asiatic or Persian Lions live in the jungles of India, and Lions live in Kafa Rainforests along with living in Cloud Jungles, spread the word as obviously people do not seem to know yet that Lions do live in jungles. Come on, there are many other types of Lions then just the African Lion, they are just the medium sized Lions compared to the others! Barbary Lions are freaking massive and they lived (and possibly still live) in the snowy atlas Mountains and jungles before being forced in zoos. Those things are huge. There are many subspecies of Lions. many more then just the African Lion. they need to be learned more about obviously.

It doesn't matter how it makes its speed, like the cheeta is high up on the list despite many of the animals that run in the 50mph range being able to maintain speeds for much longer durations. Maybe if we were doing speed endurance or something but in terms of raw speed you can't argue they are fastest. Plus other birds are dive hunters and don't even come close so they are obviously doing something right.

it is the king of speed on land. but the peregrine falcon or the golden eagle will make it look like a turtle in comparison. flying animals have the advantage of accelerating using gravity, and wind which is higher in the sky compared to on land

Peregrine falcon fun fact, juveniles often crash into the ground because they misjudge the distance between themselves and the ground. (I read that it a book called "Birds of Northern California" in case anyone wants to know where i got this knowledge)

Tigers a big and heavy animals, so they're slower than all the other animals you listes, but unfortunately it doesn't really matter since humans sprinting speed while not shabby at all is a jog for a tiger
