@@Yu7Yu7Me7Yume7 he wasn't racist, he only said "beaners" to Joke with Gómez, they were close Friends, remember?. Toxic masculinity? When? When he started a bar fight? That was to prove himself that he wasn't usless, he had PSTD He underestimated Walter, but he loved him as a brother (till he descovered the whole Heisenberg thing), he always was there for him, hank literally said multiple times "buddy, everytime you need to talk about something, i'll be there".
Let's not forget Andrea- Jesse's girlfriend shot in the back of the head by Todd, as punishment for Jesse trying to escape captivity. That hurt to watch.
Walt wasn't whistling during the dissolving of Drew's body. It was before starting a batch of meth after he talked about what a tragedy it was that the kid died.
That's what I was thinking! Disappointing that: 1. being false (and THAT moment actually made the count, when it shouldn't have), and 2. Jesse's last girlfriend, Andrea, not making this "list".. Really?! That was a MAJOR wtf moment
It was shocking but I wouldn't call it unexpected or surprising. At that point of the show, seeing Jesse put in even more pain was pretty par for the course.
Shocking has several definitions, and unexpected is not one of them. So if anybody's contradicting themselves, it's you by calling me out when you clearly don't have a clue. But I was referring to an ACTUAL definition of the word, "causing or provoking feelings of disgust or dismay."
I wouldn't call it a comedy at all but it did have some comedic moments. Mainly in the first 2 seasons. Jesse's "ahh wire" moment or Hector going to the DEA just so he could tell Hank "fuck you" and "suck my dick" are particularly funny moments.
I wouldn't have used those words myself, but you have to agree that there was a dramatic tone shift in tone as the series went on. The first season is full of hi-jinks and funny moments as these two try and start up a meth operation, peppered with more somber and serious beats, but those tended to be the exception, not the rule. However, as it goes on, the roles reverse and Breaking Bad becomes a much more serious drama with only wiggle room for some elements of humor.
And that's fucking sad. Got had every chance to be on top. But they fucked it up. So yeah, BB is better. But my favorite is still GoT. And GoT still deserves to be in top 5.
That was #2, IMO - Gus getting even with the cartel's leadership with the poison was #1. As bad as Gus was, those guys deserved every bit of the way they died.
Heisenburg would win by throwing a bag full of meth in thanos' mouth and watch him start tweaking, that way instead of snapping and destroying everything he would snap and be transported to a planet made of meth
I would've taken Gale off the list because of two reasons: 1/ His death is off camera (IIRC) 2/ Andrea should've been on the list and bumped right up to the top 3. That death was horrific.
Andrea and Drew Sharp were definitely the most heartbreaking because they weren't in the game AND they were in no way expected. How Andrea didn't make the list at all is absurd.
I haven't watched the series completely again since i saw the season finale back in 13 until recently. And let me tell you even though I already knew what was going to happen, I didn't remember every detail of the show. It was just as good re-watching. If not better the second time around.
@@ReMattch It will be, because Vince Gilligan and the crew have full control and so far Better Call Saul has been just as good as Breaking Bad. I trust Vince Gilligan.
Gus poisoning Don Eladio and his while crew, Gus getting blown up, and Mike being shot by Walt by accident are up there. But the episode "Boxcutter" is hands down above them all in my opinion.
I really thought Andrea's death would make the list.. I did not see her death coming, and it was so disturbing and heartbreaking. The silence, and the way Jesse screamed was hard to sit through
I think Drew's death shocked me more than any other insofar as I just didnt think they would murder a child and it happened so fast. We really didnt know Todd's character all that well at that point in the series. Andrea's death didnt shock me because I saw it coming 100%. But it was very upsetting and tragic.
Andrea's death was the most pointless death of the show. Even Drew's death had a significance plot wise, it showed how desensitized to death Walt became and how messed up Todd is. But Andrea's death was totally uncalled for, it did nothing but remove Jesse's last chance to a normal life. As much as the finale was a perfect ending for Walt, it screwed up in Jesse's case with Andrea's death.
@@marbjerg8804 I agree that Mike's death could have been avoided, but it made some sense. He took too many half measures. Whereas Andrea's death was totally unnecessary and unanticipated. She even broke up with Jesse. It just shows how much of a DUMB psychopath Todd is. Even the writer who wrote her death regretted it.
10. Gale 9. Krazy-8 8. Those dealers from S2/3 that Walt ran over in Half Measures 7. Victor 6. Mike's Guys (and lawyer) 5. Mike 4. Jane 3. Gus (plus Hector and Tyrus) 2. Drew Sharp 1. Hank (plus Gomie) Honorable Mentions: No-Doze, Combo, Spooge, Tortuga No Mention Of: Andrea, Don Eladio, Tuco, The Cousins, Jack, Todd and Lydia There, I saved you from sitting through this.
Thanks Exile. Countdowns like these aren't meant to be completely agreed upon and can stir up interesting debate. But this countdown genuinely seems like it was thrown together in a few minutes by a channel that was hurrying their upload to RU-vid to meet a deadline. Victor so low? No mention of Andrea? Gimme a break...
Honestly, from ones who weren't mentioned only Andrea, Todd and Lydia were hella unexpected. I mean c'mon how to could you expect Walt putting ricin in Lydia's tea extra or Jesse killing Todd with his handcuffs?
I thought it was a fun crime comedy. Especially the part when Jessie and Mr. White both say HELL YEA when Mr. White tells Jessie how much their estimated profit will be in the RV
The most shocking death was definitely the kid from dead freight. Not a single soul on the planet who watched that episode wasn’t left completely shocked after the episode ended
I agree. My wife and I both shouted " No !" when Todd pulled the trigger. And the episode ended just like that. We were both astounded because at that point viewers didn't realize how much of a psycho Todd really was.
I was particularly upset about Gales death. There was an innocence about him that made his character work. He had a passion for chemistry, even though he explored it in a horrible way. His passion drove him and it provided a non chaotic mood in the lab for Walt. He was a refreshing character to me and it saddened me to watch him die so coldly.
1)Hank death (the cinematography and slo-mo of Walt dropping to the floor are genius) 2)Gus death 3)Mike death 4)Gus poisoning the cartel 5)Train robbery (including Todd killing the kid).
Jane was partially to blame for this herself, and she didn't have the space Andrea did (Andrea was much better and even more innocent). Andrea's death was the most shocking, ruthless, cruel and even saddest.
Gus' death wasn't the most shocking, but it's my favorite scene in the whole show and it may even be my favorite scene amongst any TV show ever. The way Walter baited Gus into a trap and the fact he convinced Hector to suicide bomb himself is just genius. Incredible writing by Vince Gilligan. Not to mention the way it was shot was perfect. Hector never looked Gus in the eye, then he finally does and his face goes from sad to pure anger. Then Hector starts ringing his bell and we notice the bell doesn't sound like it usually does. The camera slowly pans to the bomb that is connected to Hector's bell. I don't see how this scene could've been written any better.
Gus's final scream was also on point. Just realistic: the panic when you realize you are about to die. Gus, always chill and polite, that screams in complete panic for a second.
Hank´s death was so sad and devastating. It was to cold, he did not even finished his speech indeed, but in real life death is like that, out of no where and unfair. that said, i wanted him to live all the way, but it was necessary for Walker to see how he destroyed so many life´s and that´s what triggered him to *try* to redeem himself, and save jesse
I have all the deaths spoiled for me because i couldn t Help it and watch videos, the only deaths that i think that i haven t spoiled was that kid Todd shot, Andrea, Mike and Victor
Andrea’s death was the one that stood out the most to me. I expected most of these characters to die eventually, but I thought Andrea was innocent enough to make it out alive. Although she had a quick painless death, watching Jesse’s reaction gave me such chills. I felt his pain and it hurt man.
I really was specting Victor's death while I was watching that scene, but the way Gus killed him shocked me. My most impacting deaths: Krazy-8 (Walt intelligence and desesperation for revisiting the plate pieces) Combo (I wasn't specting anything like that) Jane: Jimi Hendrix style :( Gómez (the death of a character that comical and friendly) Hank (Well...)
Really? Unexpected? You couldn't guess her death from the photo that was sticked up on the wall? But yeah they should've included that in the list. I mean it teared jesse apart from the inside
For me it was shocking... some part of me and Iam sure for many people as well hoped that Hank will get out of this situation, But he doesn't so obviously the moment where Jack shoots Hank was really shocking to me
Wow, I rarely disagree THIS strongly with a list. To me, "shocking" means both horrifying and (crucially) we didn't see it coming. What that in mind, here's what I think: Honorable mention: The two dudes Walt hit with his car - Completely out of the blue AND cold-blooded The inmates - The way it was done was amazing & horrific but we didn't really know them so it didn't feel quite as shocking Spooge - What. The Frick. If he'd been more than a very minor character this would rank high for me. Utterly shocking. 10 Hank - Super terrible, yes, but you said yourselves we saw it coming a mile away. 9 Gale - Also pretty predictable, but the way it happened was horrific. Poor Jesse. :-( 8 Krazy 8 - Shocking because it was the first time we saw what Walt was capable of but not as horrific as some others. 7 Jane - Soooooo sad (again: Poor Jesse...) but relatively low because it was less unexpected than others. 6 Andrea - Just as horrible as Jane (and even more, really, because she had a kid), but WAY more unexpected. 5 Combo - Who expected (esp. that early in the series) a grown man to be killed by a kid?! Horrifying! 4 Mike - Deeply sad AND entirely unexpected. 3 Victor - Complete surprise AND horrifying in terms of all that blood. 2 Gus (and Hector) - I mean, if I have to explain this one, you need to re-watch the series. :-) 1 Drew Sharp - By far the single most surprising AND most horrifying death of the entire series for me. Stupid Todd. Ugh. YMMV, obviously. :-)
I think combo’s death should be ranked in the top 10. Jessie’s drug dealing operation was only 4 people. A small group of guys and one of them gets shot dead by A little kid. That death always hits me hard
Out of all the deaths Hanks stuck with me the most. And now on my rewatch of the series it’s hitting even harder and I can’t stand Walter. For years I remembered the quote “Your the smartest man I know, but your too stupid to realize, he’s already made up his mind” it’s not word for word but that’s how I remember it. Crazy show and I love the characters were supposed to hate and hate those were supposed to love! I’ve never had this dynamic in a show before. This is really deserving of the “Greatest Show on TV” name it got. Fucking amazing and I can’t wait to start BCS & El Camino.
People may not like season 1 as much as the other seasons, but I’ve always found that i enjoyed it as much as the other seasons. Krazy 8 and Walt’s conversation before he died was one of my favorite scenes in the show, and Tuco beating the piss out of his guard guy will always be a classic scene in breaking bad. And I do I even have to mention the “This is not meth” scene....
Mother loving Gus’ death will always get to me. This guy to me was like the friggin’ terminator every time there was an attempt to on his life. When Gus came out of that room out after the explosion, I said: “WTF is it going to take to kill this guy?!” Saw his face destroyed then him die and said: “That was so awesome!!!”
9:49 Walt doesn't whistle while dissolving Drew's body in acid, he whistles after telling Jesse (hurt by Drew's death) to go rest and that he was also saddened by Drew's death.
"Your boss is gonna NEED me" sounds like some definite last words to me. hey got along without him forever and since he joined them he is as much trouble as he is worth. No- they don't actually need him. In any case, Mike couldda kneecapped Walt just to get his mind back in order.
Andrea's execution, hands down, most shocking and upsetting moment. Many of the members of this list were playing a dangerous game. Andrea was at home being a mom. Only moment that really got to me
Hank and Gus weren't shocking. Hank even says that Jack made up his mind 10 minutes ago. Combo, Andrea, Drew and Victor were all shocking. I had no idea they were going to go.
The most emotional death for me personally, was the death of Gale. This scene is fantastic, these emotions were phenomenal. Heisenberg overplayed all of them and it was perfect
