Well, some of those Tiny Epic games take up a huge amount of space on the table. That's what's so impressive about those. Probably the game that is a small footprint is Tiny Epic Galaxies. I'm interested in your #1 and #2 games though. They are very intriguing.

I've taught several friends how to play The Red Cathedral because not only is the gameplay really tight and fun, but it fits into a smaller box. I purchased an insert from Etsy and setup is a breeze. Eagerly awaiting my delivery of The White Castle!

Fantastic list..... the Village Rails segment made me laugh out loud because I had the same reaction. I ordered the game online and when it came in the mail I thought I was getting pranked. The box was so small while the pictures made it look like a full table sized game.

We like Brew for this; the main board is small and so are the character cards, leaving good space for your animals and potions! Play it on a coffee table all the time. Good video, thanks for sharing

Masters of Renaissance - Lorenzo il Magnifico The Card Game is a great game for this list. Lots of game play with a relatively small footprint.

I just love games that give you lots of game in a small box! Some of my favorites are: A fistful of meeples (like Five Tribes with a western theme), Little Town, Tybor the Builder, Sky Team, Knarr, Goblin Vaults (crunchy hidden gem), Mining colony, La Isla (Stefan Feld), Artifacts Inc. and Botanik.

For me, the smallest footprint and the biggest impact has been Homeworlds. Part of the the Pyramid Arcade line up, but you can get this one separately... But this one is such an amazing 2 player game and for such a small box, and such few components, it is an amazing 4X game of sorts. Another one in the similar vein is Hive. Very deep strategic game with just a few Bakelite pieces. Amazing. Tak is also another game I would like to shout out. You can even get cloth bags to carry the pieces and also have a printed board on the bag.. Very portable but such deep strategy. Incredible.

Wow, awesome list! The only game I have on the list is 7 Wonders Duel plus one expansion which is awesome. So many other intriguing games on the list. The standout curiosity for me is The Legacy of Yu. It looks so appealing as a solo play that appears as an actual board game. It’s kind of pricey though. Maybe a bit more complex than I want.

I love games that do a lot with a little. It's a great sign of really smart, elegant design. A few of my faves that fit this are Animal Kingdoms, Songbirds, Targi, Nova Luna, High Society, or even Modern Art, and a pretty underrated little gem - Food Truck Champion.

I think AllPlay has doneva pretty good job with their choice of games. Bites is my personal favorite, so much variability with a simple ruleset. Flatout games as well.

I would also add Jaws by Revensburger as a great one versus many game with a tiny footprint, as well as all the Dark City games, such as Bristol 1350.

Tiny Epic Vikings and Tiny Epic Dinosaurs give reasonably meaty games in a small table presence. Another would be Furnace, if you are short on space for rows of cards you can double up the rows - fundamentally it's a bunch of cards and resources, but they create a very good play experience.

Viking ship! Great choices overall. Ya'll know I'm gonna recommend some Button Shy games for this list: Ancient Realm, ROVE, and Heirarchy. I also can't help but mention Oh My Goods, such a good thinky game in such a tiny package.

Oh My Good is definitely a top pick for me. I was kind of thinking they were leaning toward games that actually have a board, or else I would have shouted out Race for the Galaxy as well.

I love Clans of Caledonia and it definitely has a small box, but I wouldn't say it takes a low amount of table space. It ends up pretty sprawling when all set up, in my opinion. Great game, though. One of the few games that I would argue could actually use a *slightly* larger box, because it can be difficult to actually fit it all in there if you aren't precise. My vote for great small box games are Targi and Watergate. And, of course, the first edition of Pax Renaissance will also hold the record for the most game crammed into the least box. But that game is not for most people, probably including you guys.

Demon Worker is my go to small footprint Worker Placement. Such a great game, so streamlined with just brutal decisions of an efficiency puzzle.

In this video all footage for b roll was shot by us and when at all possible we film our own. When we can’t get footage of our own we usually defer to using promotional footage from the publisher itself. We don’t use other content creators footage as a general rule but if we did we’d get permission from them first and then absolutely credit them :)

Sorta disagree with TMB. Sure, playing the scenario itself takes up very little table space, but having to source the dice when you upgrade and referencing the character sheets takes space.

This is the same mindset I went into Essen with…came back with 23 games, in my caryover bag 😂😱🥰 also, looks t me that World’s fair looks a lot like Animal kingdome, in more areas than one: same hexagonal assambled main board, cards played around and even colored cubes that are place and colected on and from the board….you should check that one out 😄

The Castles of Burgundy Card Game comes in a box roughly the size of Love Letter and isn't very far off from the original game as far as depth/complexity goes. When I first got the game I genuinely thought for some reason that it would be a super stripped down game but it really isn't.

I'd like to see a list that is somewhat the opposite. Games that are really good but don't get to the table as often because they are bigger than they need to be. The new Stonemaier Expeditions game is like that for me. An excellent game that I really enjoy. However, if it were half the size I would play it way more often.

Some of the cards in Village Rails have a stupid misprint. See 24:51. It's a brilliant game, and the misprint doesn't affect gameplay, but these things just shouldn't happen.

I think we subconsciously steered away from pure card games like that, and focused more on ones that have boards/tableau's. But trick taking games are a great choice for a list like this

A roll and write game reduces production costs, and shipping expenses. If a developer can succeed at creating a memorable experience. The value people have with the game can be quickly assessed. When learning to play takes 10 minutes, or less. 54 cards, 1 rule card, 1 diagram/business card, 6 polyhedral dice, and 40 poker chips.

Sad you focused mostly on 2p games. 1 and 2p games are usually small by design because there is only 1 or 2 people ever at the table

To push back a little we have a grand total of three games that are solo or two player so that doesn’t nearly qualify as most. We wanted to give a variety of suggestions, but didn’t want to only hit two player and solo games because I agree they do typically take up less space as there are fewer players.
