@@keebeenacho2287it's only when you restart from the pause menu in the middle of the stage. If you finish the stage and restart or exit the stage and restart, the song starts over
The lyric”None of this fake,it’s all reality!” Sounds like the end is trying to brainwash you into thinking that where you are isn’t fake and to trap you into staying there forever as the lyrics and beat gets louder and louder like it’s really clouding your brain to an unhealthy degree
I’m SO happy you picked 2-6 as your top cyber space song! I’ll be honest, it didn’t quite click with me at first when I played the level for the first time, but after taking the time to listen to it again, I realized that it was just incredible. Amazing video as always!
I really like 4-4 personally, i think it catches perfectly that backrooms vibe that the city theme reprensents. It's soothing and calm but there's this uneasiness that makes you wanna leave this place, because if you were to stay, you might just get lost in these memories... forever. It might not be the catchyest cyberspace song, but it actually gave me chills when i first went through the level, and i feel like it's the one that fits the cyberspace theme the best.
Rintaro Soma's tracks are always the best. He also made "Solips" which was a famous rhythm game song, he really nails that japanese electronic music style similar to Camellia
There are little to non RU-vid channels as amazing as this. Something about the editing, the presentation, and the delivery make this a hella amazing video, just like the rest of the channel. Thanks for another upload!
2-6 was my absolute favorite as well That main lead is so powerful yet so beautiful The first time I played 2-6 and that drop hit I was instantly 10 years old again playing sonic generations with my dad cause he had rented it for me from blockbuster and then when the melody kicked in again boyyy I almost cried If a song/beat can bring you back to a happy point in your life the producer/musician did a damn good job
I like all the Cyber Space tracks, but some of my favorites are definitely from Rintaro Soma. Genshi (1-4), Floating in the Blue (2-7), Constructure (3-4), BMB (3-5), Rumble Rave (4-3), Wishes in the Wind (4-4), and Fog Funk (4-6) are all excellent bops, with Wishes in the Wind being my favorite Cyber Space track and level in the game.
Exactly! Rintaro Soma's tracks are always the best. He also made "Solips" which was a famous rhythm game song, he really nails that electronic music style in a similar way to Camellia, especially from the "Heart of android" album. I've tried to find some information about him and his other music but I could only find Solips, he really has a style that reasonates with my soul.
my fav is probably Dropaholic. it kinda feels like Kanon Oguni (the composer) just having fun, even the name is pretty goofy. super over the top, and surprisingly complex, because of the 2nd variation before looping. also, I just wanna say that your videos are some of my favorites on RU-vid right now. they feel real really down to Earth, but still well made and above all passionate. plus, the way you describe things is almost mesmerizing.
my favorite has to be 3-6 enjoy this world. its just raw bubbly unashamed and unbridled happiness. really reminds me what it feels like to love this series. i also have a big love for the music outside of cyberspace. my jaw was on the floor when i got to the last 2 islands and the music just kept topping itself with melancholic splendor. some of the guardian tracks absolutely bang too. Spider and Ghost being the obvious stand outs both of those tracks comepletely took my breath away. it fills these bosses with such unstoppable excitement and ties the whole combat experience together.
I know, especially in one of the longest and (in my opinion, so far) best cyberspace stages in the game, you really get the chance to grow and appreciate it since you'll be there for much longer than the typical Cyberspace stage.
Sonic Frontiers's music managed to fit perfectly into my style. As a music nerd, who loves 90's dance music this is one of my favourite music albums in history, which is not something I can say about most other soundtracks. I hope they keep going in this direction in the future
One of my favorite themes is 3-2, Go Slap. It begins with a jungle-like beat that reminds me of the cheery nature of Savannah Citadel before it commits to a fast, energetic theme that gets you running. One of my favorite Cyberspace stages by far! Loved this video.
Same here. Go Slap didn't catch me as much when I played the game but as I listened to the soundtrack, it immediately grabbed me. One of the best tracks in the game imo.

One of my favorite songs is 3-7 and how it is a reference back to 1-1 but is still able to sound new while continuing the story that 1-1 started. If this was the last cyberspace stage music-wise, I think it would be an excellent conclusion to Sonic's Cyber Adventures. Edit: It used to say "My favorite song is 3-7" but once I heard 2-6, I realized that I love others too lol.
3-3: Memory Will Tell and 4-9: Signs are my favorites. The former has a weirdly melancholy tone to it that goes great with the visuals of the level, while the latter is just the biggest bop in the game (that also goes really well with the skateboarding).
My favorites are all of the Kanon Oguni tracks, those being 1-5 Dropaholic, 2-6 Transparent Highway, and 4-1 Exceed Mach. I live for built up drops and that seems to be Oguni's specialty based on those three.
Before the soundtrack was officially released I kept listening to those 3 songs on youtube over and over. I then found out that those just so happened to all be the tracks that Kanon Oguni composed. He seems to like to like to have his songs introduce an idea and build on it, as all of them play a similar but noticeably different sound the "second" time through.
i love how you describe music so much. theres some elements of songs that i might usually brush over that you word to sound like the most poetic thing ever lmao
3-6 Enjoy This World is an unexpected favorite of mine, with it being on one of the hardest stages in the game for me. Although I think my actual favorite is number 2 on this list.
The Cyberspace music keeps giving me Rocket League feels every time I listen to it, and I’m all here for that! While there are a few I don’t necessarily love, I do love the musical approach to all of the songs. Props to the Sound Team for these tracks.
great video! my favs are probably Memory Will Tell, BMB, Transparent Highway, Wishes in the Wind, Ephemeral, Flowing, Fog Funk and Time Flyer those ones specifically really stuck with me also i kind of like that although the Cyberspace music doesn't scream Green Hill, Sky Sanctuary or any of that, it weirdly fits the level design rhythm if that makes sense? It's really neat
Great list! It's weird how some Sonic Team saved most of the better stages (and the themes that accompany them) all for the final island. My favourite track has to be 2-4: Hype Street because I'm a sucker for anything that even slightly resembles the Rush ost haha
I am such a big fan of Exceed Mach. It sounds like the definition of early 2000 RU-vid gaming intros and I eat it right up. That said I love all the cyber space tracks. I hope more people talk about all the music in this game. I’d love to see a deep dive into all the various tracks including the titan songs and open zone songs.
I REALLY loved the cyber space songs. They all felt like several different takes of a trippy reality twisted cyber world. No matter which track you listen to, it fits the vibe PERFECTLY. In the next sonic game, I really hope they focus on more instrument focused songs. As much as I e come around to the synth styled sonic music nowadays, I still really miss when more instrument heavy songs were primary. Whether it’s sonic unleashed’s orchestra or sonic adventure-heroes’ rock, I just miss it. Here’s to hoping for it!
Great vid! I would love to see your thoughts on some of the "overworld" island music, though a "Top 10" list might not be fit for it since there's a lot of repeating motifs/sections throughout the movements. I think the island themes do a great job at capturing the atmosphere of the Starfall Islands as well as setting a good tone for the story. but yea cyberspace slaps HARD in general, some of my favs that didnt make the video are Bmb, Go Slap and Floating in the Blue (3-5, 3-2 and 2-7 respectively). Fog Funk is also a personal favorite.
The cyberspace tracks in Frontiers really reminded me of the music in the Pac-Man Championship Edition games. They both rock that synth, almost rave party-esque energy that I can't get enough.
No one talks about 4-8, No Pain, No Gain, but it's a top 3 Cyberspace song for me. Just really enjoy the vibe of the song, and it's one of very few songs for me in general where I can just get into the beat and vibe
Oooo, wasn't expecting to see this video, pleasantly surprised, my absolute favorite is 3-3 Memory Will Tell, I was so excited to see some Trance in 2023, and it's a phenomenal track that I play on loop, I'm surprised not many people talk about this one. A great song for a great stage!
I may have mentioned this on a different video, but I’ve got a special love affair with 1-6 Go Back 2 Your Roots. The chord progression is so catchy, and the use of the chiptuney synth leads to go with the classic Green Hill level caught my ear the very first time I heard it. There’s also a slap bass section, which makes everything better (and feels very iconic to Sonic). But the buildup is my favorite part-I love the way it changes it up, weaving back and forth between different instrumental combinations, and adds something new every time the progression loops until at the end the drop hits and you’re just flying. On my first playthrough, 1-6 was probably one of the toughest levels to S-rank (I’d give it third place for how long it took me to nail, behind 1-2 and 3-6), but having that track going the whole time made it feel so much better. I gotta agree with the other commenter who said that making the song just keep going instead of restarting when you die or reset was a genius decision on Sonic Team’s part. It made trying for the S-ranks a much less painful experience.
Personally, 4-9 is my favorite track. It feels like it’s telling you this level is the end with the music. It feels like the song builds and builds and builds but instead of a giant climax, it turns into a echo of sadness almost calling out for you. Then that builds back into pure EDM.
personally i really love the vibe from "Digital Cave" and "Hype Street", both give me a "Sonic 06 OST" vibes if the focused more on ambient synths and DnB percs like all of the "end of the world" but a little more hopeful
2:40 You should’ve given a PTSD warning for the footage. I’m pretty sure everyone here has missed the 55 second mark by a distance on par with that at least once for 1-2.
Kinda sad hype street didn’t show up cuz tbh that’s probably my favorite song from the ost but the other themes were still great (also ps I think it’s lame the fanmade name that was used before the official ost was out was changed like the first named for the song was vengeance is virtual and I just think that’s a way cooler theme name since the stage is a copy of radical highway)
To me the EDM genre doesn't really fit Sonic normally, but in Cyberspace it fits like a glove. On another note, the way you described bits of these songs has inspired me to take on a new project. First I'm gonna make a thing I just thought of called "word-dump poetry" where I listen to the song once and just dump all the words into my head onto the page, with another listen I'll refine the poem and the third will solidify it all. I'm gonna do this for all the songs. The second part of the project is where I make short stories inspired by the word-dump poems from above, factoring in elements of Frontier's story and make an entire parallel story chronicling Sonic's thoughts as he goes through Cyberspace, with each stage being it's own chapter. It's gonna be huge and I've got no idea if I'll be able to do it all, but I'm gonna save this video somewhere and try to complete as much as I can whilst editing/updating this comment in the process.
Wishes in the Wind and Deja Vu are some of my favourites. I'm no musician and can't really describe what it is about them in the best of terms, but I love how they're both so chill yet still feel appropriately "Sonic".
i have a lot of cyberspace music on my running playlist and i always felt the same about transparent highway, how it has a lot of those feelings of determination, severity and hardship. and i felt that especially when i'm on a hard run and that song would start playing. it's a really excellent track
Some of these sound like songs you might hear in Geometry Dash, and that's something that makes me really happy because I loved playing that game when I was younger. Dropaholic especially has that energy to me for some reason.
Despite being contentious to play (it's actually the worst in your list for best levels), BMB is incredibly fun and a cool genre pull to Jersey Juke and Footwerk. As a comment under the video of BMB said, Ohtani and his crew are quite cultured. They certainly can pull a banging tune
My personal fav is wishes in the wind. Something about it is just so hypnotizing. I think it's best for Sonic to experiment with other music genres but don't leave out electric guitar. I believe adding that will give Sonic his signature style while also trying new things.
Whilst not my favorite genre of music, I can still appreciate it for what it is. I do personally hope for a return to the more rock focus of the adventure games in the future
Love 4-9 Signs. I know that the Cyberspace levels are kind of tangential to the overall plot of the game, but that track just fits as a determined, defiant final rush against an overwhelming foe.
There was a period in my life where my music tastes were almost exclusively either hard rock or 15 minute long basically-whale-sound progressive house, so this game was like a flashback nostalgia trip for me in terms of my listening habits. Also, I must say, a lot of that gameplay footage was synced so well with the music. Props to you and the artists!
I loved a lot of cyberspace tracks (to be honest, more than the end boss titan fight songs). I liked 4-8 no pain no gain in particular, but unfortunately that was the shortest cyberspace level so you have to go elsewhere to hear the whole thing (or afk inside)
*Cyberspace 4-4: Wishes in the Wind* is by far my favorite track to listen to, I just love listening to it while I'm on long drives, makes me feel so relaxed Honorable Mentions also go to: *Cyberspace 1-2: Flowing* *Cyberspace 1-5: Dropaholic* *Cyberspace 1-6: Go Back 2 Your Roots* *Cyberspace 2-1: Slice and Sway* *Cyberspace 2-4: Hype Street* *Cyberspace 2-5: Déjà vu* *Cyberspace 2-7: Floating in the Blue* *Cyberspace 3-6: Enjoy this World* and *Cyberspace 4-3: Rumble Rave* So many bangers in this game tbh
I Love Sonic Frontiers as it might be Me Favorite Game in the Franchise and I Love the Cyberspace Stages as Each has a Unique Factor and I Might Play Them Again in Arcade Mode, I Love the Vibe of 1-5,1-4,2-1,and 2-2,but my Personal Favorites are 4-2,1-2,2-7,and the Best One of Them All 2-6.
