While I never liked the Superior Spider-Man story… I will admit that the character development Otto went through was well done. Not my cup of tea, but I won’t pretend it was sheer garbage either just because I didn’t like it. All things considered, it’s cool that it made the list.
@Miles Doyle I’m an ex Christian who was indoctrinated as a small child and brainwashed, and I really REALLY don’t appreciate it when you guys do this kinda stuff, unsolicited. If you asked me, I’d say it’s downright rude… Christian God is one of the most horrific Gods who’ve ever been thought up. He’s *supposedly* personally killed thousands upon thousands of people, psychologically tortured several more people, and willingly gave his own child up for sacrifice because he couldn’t get over a thousands year old grudge known as *orginal sin* I can’t disprove or prove the existence of any god, but YOUR god in particular is a heinous tyrant who puts his own worship above all else, who would deserve nothing but condemnation *if I thought he were real*
Glad to see the Master Planner storyline here. For me, this story represents everything Spider-man is. It set the standard that all great Spidey stories follow: personal problems > super-villain problems > breaking point > triumph.
With the confirmation of Tom Holland's Spider-Man getting three more movies in the MCU, which one of these stories do you think should be adapted to the MCU?
Dude ultimate spider man changed me i read it online sadly but so many scenes in their hit me right at home. It hast some skippable parts but his struggles felt so real in this one its crazy like what happened to harry, how Jameson behaves towards him. Every character feels just right and how he copes with for example gwens death is perfect for me.
Every story featured here is fantastic I agree, of course including Kraven's Last Hunt, but I gotta say that my number one is Spider-Man: Blue by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. It is not often that the stories I read get me feeling genuinely emotional and broken up but Blue had me in pieces by the end of it. Forever a favourite.
My favorite Spider-Man story is Spider-Man: life story because I like how they put all of his best stories and placed them in certain periods of his life and we get see him go from teen to old man which is cool
My Top 10 Spider-Man Stories: 1)Spider-Man Blue 2)The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man 3)If This Be My Destiny...! 4)The Superior Spider-Man 5)Amazing Fantasy #15 6)Spider-Verse 7)The Night Gwen Stacy Died 8)Kraven's Last Hunt 9)Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 10)Ends of the Earth
That story about Stan Lee not knowing Gerry Conway was gonna kill off Gwen Stacy is a lie. Conway got his blessing and when the fans were outraged about it Stan claimed he would’ve never let it happen when in reality Stan just didn’t like it whenever fans were mad at him so he always shifted the blame to promote his own self-innocence. Exact same thing also happened when Aunt May died in ASM #400. Classic Stan. R.I.P.
This is a really good list The Spiderverse stories have always been epic since it's inception. The death of Capt. Jean DeWolff was huge. I remember how surprised & blown away that she was killed in such a violent manner. Even though I liked her, it's cool that her death has stuck. Dr. Octopus becoming Spider-Man was cool. The death of Gwen Stacy is iconic. Props to Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone for bringing that story to life in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Kraven's Last Hunt was not only dark but really disturbing. It's good though & does belong on the list.
It’s a stand-alone issue, but Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #310 is my single favorite issue of S-M ever. It’s everything we love about Spidey packed into one tight, emotional package
This is the kind of top 10 I love, it really feels like there were unique personal choices and not just it's regarded so highly so it has to be this number you know?
I really hope the clone saga gets adapted into the MCU. Spider-Man: No Way Home that takes inspiration from one of the most hated storylines, One More Day became a box office success so it would be likely that a movie about the clone saga would also redeem the comic book storyline. It would also give the MCU more web-slingers besides Spider-Man and would expand the story telling when it comes to Spider-Man’s part of the MCU. It could also be a drama movie as the movie could do an excellent job an making it hard to know who’s the clone and the original but in a good way since that was the saga’s greatest controversy. It would also introduce characters I have always wanted for the MCU like Scarlet Spider, Jackal and Kaine.
That's a good point, but at the same time it would demand even more Spider-Manning from Tom Holland, who seems to be growing weary of the role (not that I blame him, the only year he hasn't put in a performance as Spidey was 2020).
But it’s actually nothing to do with OMD. The whole erase people memory thing came from writers retconning the 8 billion plot holes that awful comic created.
There was a Spectacular Spider-Man story called Funeral Arrangements, where Vulture is dying of cancer brought on because of radiation from his flying harness, and he’s trying to check off everything on his bucket list. This, of course, brings him into varying levels of conflict with Peter. It is bleak and noir as hell, and I was hoping they would take the Vulture character there to some extent in the future, some variation. It’s a gravely (sorry) serious arc.
I wouldn’t say it top ten, BUT i’m LOVING the beyond story currently being unfolded in the comics. It is so much fun and I love seeing Ben getting the spot light he deserves!
one of my personal favorite spiderman stories is JMS' run. it gave a more mystical origin for peter's powers, gave us a great character in Ezekiel Simms, made peter a high school science teacher and gave us one of spiderman's deadliest foes, morlun.
My personal favourite is Coming Home. I first read it when I was 11 before I was really in to comics and had read a bit of the early Spider-man and seen the Raimi trilogy and animated series. It was cool to see an adult, teacher, no girlfriend Spidey and it introduced a great villain (Morlun). Plus, the absolute beating he gets is brutally awesome.
The Night Gwen Stacey Died is definitely a huge one for a lot of people, and while I never read the comic, I saw the amazing Spider-Man 2 and heard about this sometime after seeing that clip. I honestly have gotta pick some of these comics up, because I’m also a fan of spiderman and I could use some great stories to read and keep forever
I really enjoyed Mark Millar's run on The Sensational Spider-Man Marvel Knights back in 2006, thought it was a really solid story (save some occasional weird dialogue choices) that had beautiful illustration
before i even watch, i hope the Back in Black story after civil war is on this list. easily one of his greatest and impactful stories to date. and lead to the One More Day storyline
1. Go Down Swinging 2. Spider-Men/ Spider-Verse 3. Superior Spider-Man 4. The Night Gwen Stacy Died 5. Kravens Last Hunt 6. Master Planner Saga 7. Amazing Fantasy 15 8. Grim Hunt 9. Maximum Carnage 10. Spider-Island Honorable Mention: The Kid who Collects Spider-Man and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man # 6 Vol 2. I really love moments in Spider-Man history like those. But there are so many it makes it hard to choose.
All I know is I want a story where Peter gets the girl. He gets that job he wanted. He stays Spider-Man and gets all he wants. That’s the only thing I want out of these next 3 films. But I’ve been a Spidey fan long enough to know…probably expecting “too much”.
This was a pretty solid list. Some of my favorites I'd include were Spider Island,Big Time, and the Cosmic Spider-Man saga. Also out of the main continuity Spider's Shadow was pretty solid.
This is list great! That said what are some peoples favorites that they love that never end up on top 10 list? Always love finding new stories and wanna hear some
@@plaingreekyogurt996 like it’s so good I thought the exact same like nothing has been close to it. Spider-Man: life story is another one I wanna read as well
@@LibertyBridgeProductions for sure man. Tbh Spider-Man has been in a drought in terms of good comics, except life story. Spider verse wasn’t critically good. I read it. The best that came of it was the edge of spider verse one shots. So interesting especially with spider Gwen and evangelion Spider-Man
@@plaingreekyogurt996 who’s evangelion Spider-Man? And I haven’t read spiderverse like I love the into the spiderverse movie so much but I think they’ve just done a civil and ignored most of the source material except the core concept for it. Idk like I can’t find any Spider-Man stories I actually like I got the first 2 volumes of the series ‘Spidey’ I read a little of that and it’s fun but nothing fantastic as far as I remember because I haven’t read the book since and started reading something else instead 😂. I like some of Bendis’s Miles stuff I was reading monthly literally years ago when I read monthly comics and I’ve read the odd few Peter issues
@@LibertyBridgeProductions bro tbh. Spider-Man doesn’t have that many good stories not gunna lie. I totally agree with you there. Bendis ultimate Spider-Man is peak to me. The evangelion Spider-Man is sp//dr. Check it out man. It’s so interesting
yoo the fact i been follwoing arris since 2k14/2k15 and hes still my top 3 youtube for comics is crazy ! i apprecite al hte hard work you do for your fans
Top 10 best Spider-Man Stories 1. The Gift 2. The Death of Captain Stacy 3. The Conversation 4. The Gauntlet 5. Spider-Man No More 6. The Original Hobgoblin Saga 7. Spider-Man: Blue 8. The Night Gwen Stacy Died 9. Kraven's Last Hunt 10. The Master Planner Saga
I've got to be honest, I do not understand the hype for The Night Gwen Stacy Died. The story is not bad but it is not great, far from it in my opinion.
Can you do history of the Elementals, Cyclone and Sandman along with Kurt Conners the Lizard, Rhino, Kraven the Hunter, Chameleon, Scorpion and the Human Fly along with Morbius, Alistair Smythe the Ultimate Spider Slayer and Loxias_Crown AKA Hunger?
Fun fact, during the story Spider-Geddon, both Andrew Garfied and Tom Holland's Spider-Men make a cameo. They appear in separate panels during the final battle in the last issue in the background.
THREE Original Members of The Sinister Six imitated Spidey , Mysterio Kraven & Doc Ock ( Octopus takes Pete's body however) the other 2 just put a costume on!
