We were in Israel a few weeks ago. I miss eating this delicious food. Hummus in Israel is light and fluffy with olive oil drenched on top but it doesn’t taste oily. The cucumber and tomato have an amazing crunch, had them daily with hummus. Truly a blessed land of milk and honey.
Thanks for commenting Marie and for watching the video. I am very happy to read that you liked the food here, and hope that you will come back to enjoy it once again!
The answer about soccer relates to your question because it is the same as saying, "Not everyone that cooks can actually cook good" these sayings are very common is many countries... :)
great video Amir, im a chef from Canada i worked for awhile with a Jewish catering company ive seen variations of these dishes thwy were amazing!! thanks for the video!!
Amir, that was a very delicious presentation of a food tour of Israel. Thank You. I am soooooo hungry now for some authentic middle eastern cuisine - just YUM!!! Bless you. Shalom.
I would travel to Israel just for the food and still have the time of my life. I miss Israel, the people and the FOOD!!!!! Only visited once. Shalom from NZ.
I’ll be visiting Israel for sure, and will follow this guideline. Thanks for the info. ❤️ Israel very interesting historical country, survived the hardship treatment of surrounding neighborhood countries.smart people....
Just came across your video. I loved it. The food looks delicious and you're funny. Don't know why you had me cracking up and laughing out loud with your comments while eating those tasty looking food. I'm definitely drooling. Israel is on my bucket list of places to visit. I'm definitely using your video as a reference. Thanks again for the video.
Thanks for watching! I actually thought that my jokes were not that funny because no one was mentioning them in the comments section. I am sure that you will love your time here in Israel when you decide to come!
I did. Not a lot of the dessert. I went straight for the foods..I ate the pastries in the morning for sure. I gained so much weight in Yeshiva. I was well over 300lbs in Israel. :)
Hey Amir! I'm writing in English so that our foreign friends will understand. you should go and visit Falafel Orioyun At hadar, Haifa. another good place for Pargit and shawarma is Alba'abour (אלבעבור) In Yoqne'am. A good place for Borekas Is "Borekas Turcki" (בורקס טורכי) in Haifa, its not that hard to find these places, just google it. hope you enjoy!
@@deb7633 That was kind of mean: there are places like like that all over the world. While I do agree to some extend as a lot of India is like that, many of the more rural places are very nice and beautiful places.
Thank you for this. I've tried Oved's sabich. Yes, you're right it's one of the best sabich if not the best in Israel. Love also the sabich in Frishman, TEl Aviv. I'll try everything you mentioned here. Excited. I'll start the malabi this weekend in Jaffa.
Sounds great Juan! it would be great if you can comment here after you tried the dishes. I am interested to know if you will like all of them as much as I did. Enjoy!
I ate at a street vendor outside of a USO in Haifa back in 1989. it was chicken I think with cabbage with a red sauce. not too hot but it was my favorite food.
IT was a tall building, there was a bar beside it where sailors and ISDF came together and have fun. got a little loud so the bartender reached below counter and fired off a few AK-47 rounds. after that it was quiet. i saw the zoo the Dead Sea and the Massada. the Massada was so AWESOME. The Food was the best in the world in Israel.
Im a little late to this video. So many great foods to try. Hopefully this covid non sense is over soon. So i can visit Israel. Thanks for another great video.
Amir Rimer yes sure. We've been to Israel twice and I never enjoyed the food the way you do. We went with tour so everyone is always in a hurry. Next time we'll explore Israel in our own way.
Hi Norman, i think there are many favorites. I think people usually eat salad, eggs, cheese, and bread for breakfast (with some coffee or juice), and then schnitzel / chicken and potatoes or rice for launch, and then maybe a fish with vegetables for dinner. thanks for watching!
You don’t mention Abu-Shukri in the old city of Jerusalem, the best hummus in the Middle East! I have been there several times and I think it’s my favorite (I also love one spot in Akko but I forget the name)
Hi Jason, the Hummus from the Halil restaurant is the best I tasted, so I had to recommend it to others in this video. I have never tried Abu-Shukri's myself, so I couldn't recommend it to others. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Blshea, I hope you will enjoy your time in TLV. You can also check out the last two videos that I posted which are focused specifically on good places to eat in Tel-Aviv.!
hi amir i am from israel and i want to say you that the vidieo was true and very good and booreckes u need to eat with your hands - yes yes withuot a fork !
Hi Eni, I stick to one meal per day, 3 days of weightlifting every week. 45 minutes of waking each time for 3 times a week, and drink plenty of water. Thanks for watching!
"I wanted to order one but I ordered two. I always have a problem with over-ordering..." You're going to turn into a nice fat little Jewish boy! Ha, ha.
You are 100% correct Dave! Store owners don't always provide them, and I am so excited about the food that I am about to eat that I forget to ask for them, and the result is that I take them after the video ends. Good point, and thanks for watching!
Would you agree that sabich is a meat free or completely vegetarian sandwich... it cant be if it has eggs in it, right ?? In hakosem's video they described it as meat free which i dont think it is...
I am not an expert on this topic, but from what I know Sabich is a completely vegetarian sandwich. From what I know eggs are ok to eat for a vegetarian, but not for a vegan. I know that in some countries, like India, eggs are considered meat - hope this helps.
@@Amirimer I got your point....here in india you can find hardcore vegetarians and vegans...some states like gujarat are an almost vegetarian state....rarely you find non veg eateries there....i'm from the state of kerala where we have both famous veg and non veg dishes...karimeen fry ( Green chromide also called pearl spot fish) is a seafood speciality here...its really good...we almost call it our state dish....
@@Amirimer there were a lot of jews here in my city of kochi but most of them emigrated to israel...only 3 or 4 families remain here...maybe you can look up the community there and they'll propably make you the dish....you'll find them in Nevatim, Shahar, Yuval, and Mesilat Zion. And in the neighbourhood of Katamon in Jerusalem, and in Beersheba, Ramla, Dimona and Yeruham...they are referred to as Cochin jews
been to Israel just a year ago, coming again next year, haven't had the chance to explore these areas yet, hope you can show a bit about transportation from 1 place to another like accessibility options, roughly the distances and easiest way of getting there. and also, spare more video time on the food on the plate as to the video of eating, it will give more impact. Subscribed and shared,
Last comment- you should describe how the food tastes instead of just saying “wonderful” or “delicious”. For example, the boureka- tell people that it’s crispy on the outside, with a very flaky crust. Buttery and rich but light exterior, with a steaming hot potato center that is creamy, a little salty, and hearty. Like a croissant crossed with a filo dough pie. (I watch a lot of travel and food videos, and if I have never tried the food the reviewer is tasting, I want to hear what the flavors are.) Just saying “delicious” and shaking your head doesn’t tell me anything other than that you like it. I want to know what the flavors are! Again, just friendly comments from an Arab foodie from NYC.
Hi Inea, I don't have prices in this video, but if you look in the new videos you will see that I have added prices, and addresses. thanks for watching!
Hi Jacob, I have never tried their Sabich, but I have heard that they offer Sabich as well, and some say that it is even better than their falafel, so maybe I should visit them again :)
Hi Samir, I know exactly what you mean. The food is amazing, but surely not calorie free :) This is why I try to limit myself to eating just one meal per day, Once I did that the kilos come off quickly. It was hard at first, but now it is very easy. Good luck on losing that 4 kilos - I am sure you will enjoy your visit - thanks for watching!
:) I won't reduce it to one meal per day! :) I will go full house as I might stay only for 4 or 5 days. I noted your places and will visit them all. On a positive note, most places are walkable or there are plenty places you can walk to and between if the weather allows that. Buring some calories before getting to your next food stop! ;) Continue with the great work and ignore haters!
When Oved was asked , what makes his sabich the best, he answered " Not everyone that plays soccer really knows how to play soccer " Anybody knows what that means and how it relates to his sabich ? For me, it sounds like he really doesn't know how to make sabich...
very interesting. i watched this video in order to be prepared for a visit to an israeli restaurant in Ann arbor michigan. As a vegetarian i am quite amazed which huge choice i have when eating jewish-israeli food.
Yes, there are many different foods to choose from in Israel, and I will be uploading the second part of this video in a few days Thanks for watching, and hope you will come to visit to enjoy the great food!
Amir Rimer Thanks for the quick reply. yes i would love to come. As an Iranian, grown up in Germany and living in the US i have since years a huge interest in israeli-jewish culture and as part of it the traditions and food. i will let you know and maybe we could have a lunch together!!
(You should concentrate on looking into the lens and not at yourself on the screen- I know it’s more difficult but it creates a connection with the viewer. When you look at yourself on the screen your eyes don’t make contact with the viewer and there is a disconnect. Just some friendly advice from a Christian Palestinian guy in NYC whose family is from the Galilee)
Hi Jason, great point. I noticed it myself after I uploaded the video to RU-vid. When I shot the video I thought that I was looking in the right direction. Thanks for pointing this out, and thanks for watching.
