1. Altering size, density, strength, and shape of his body by absorbing water. 2. Taking water from living beings to regenerate himself. 3. Ice is as hard as he wants it to be. To a point. 4. Being able to traverse long distances at super speeds by basically moving his consciousness through water molecules.
@@That80sGuy1972 Yes she did. Although I think it was some time later, but not sure. She is a mutant as well. I think she debuted in the X-Men 5 years later. She even had her own miniseries and was a member of the New Warriors.
Iceman is one of my favs. I have never accepted him as gay. They couldve created a character. I have no problem with gay characters but to take a character that many have connected with for decades and change his sexual orientation is the same as for falling for a women for years then marrying her and when you finally decide to consumate the marriage you find out shes got man parts.
Yeah that power Molecular Moisture Conversion allows him to project his consciousness through water, ice etc. Also do that with other people. Flow along through a river & reform downstream.
Considering that light is made up of particles (photons) which can be made into solid light constructs, it seems reasonable that Iceman would be able to affect light with his abilities, by freezing those same particles (photons).
My dawg, "Iceman" Bobby Drake. Shout out to the folks who asked for him. Bobby has control over the slowing of molecules. That's what folks don't understand.
@@VampX13 Agreed he works well having a balance of funny and seriousness but I feel they've gone overboard. In Maruaders he feels like the stereotypical comic relief gay guy in old comedies
Although you've made some good points on Iceman's abilities, you forgot quite a few significant ones. Such as turning off thermal mutant powers on a molecular level, like he did with Sunfire. Being immune to mental detection, like when Jean/Phoenix tried to find him when he became a part of the environment in X-Men Forever. When he froze a nuclear explosion at point blank range without flinching, during Mike Carey's run. And when he tried using Molecular Water Inversion to teleport his entire team to a different location in the AoA series. He's even beaten Thor and the Hulk.
He can change moisture from state to state. For example, just like he can change to water and solid, he can also change to gaseous. He might very well be immortal. He can also change his size, granting him additional strength. Insanely powerful!!!
Iceman also was able to teleport and teleport others in the Age of Apocalypse by breaking down the water in their bodies and traveling via water molecules in the air
This 4:35 is why Emma Frost is the most skilled, (and one of the most powerful) telepaths alive. Do a top 10 list of Emma Frost's powers. Or two of them lol
Yes I'm a fan of Iceman he's my favorite X-man in my I don't think anything will surprise me with the powers that he has in his power pocket I prefer cold over hot anyday
Favorite original X Men mutant you ask? Scott Summer’s aka Cyclops the field leader of the X-Men. Love how his imperfections make him more relatable as a character.
Def need a part 2. Missed him having so much control of his powers that he stopped sunfire from using his powers on a molecular level or when he stopped a nuclear explosion by freezing it and several more. Love the vids. Keep them coming.
@Caleb Mayfield I'm always happy to hear people shout out love for any mutants. Even if they aren't the topic of the video. Also I may have asked who everyone's favorite mutant was at the end of the video. I like asking that question. ;)
Ice Man is not gay. False diversity doesn't count. If they want a gay character they should make a new character who just so happens is gay, have the character sink or swim on their own. Also not be a gay stereotype.
Indeed. A new character that happens to be gay is a better idea because at least that would be much more creative and original and it would also show that the author took more effort.
@R B Yep. For example, they could have made an original superhero that happened to be gay and is friends with Bobby Drake, but sadly, they just picked the lazy route and changed Bobby Drake's sexual orientation.
I see what you are saying but also isn't it kind of weird that all these OG characters have just happened to be straight. Like, what are the odds of that? I feel like any of these retcons are just trying to add in the diversity that should have existed years ago. Because even in the 60s, not everyone was straight. It just wasn't as talked about because of all the hate. But I get what you're saying about this retcon just not feeling right, or feeling forced.
Iceman has somewhat recently been shown the ability to freeze timez even though he lost control and couldn't undo it on his own. His power level is just getting ridiculous at this point and I love it
Iceman is freaking amazing!! But..... Wait a minute, are we just supposed to sit here and imagine that Amanda didn't just go "Pew, pew" really!!! 😂🤣😂🤣 Amanda is life 😍😍, thank you for your contribution to Top 10 Nerd!!
Bobby Drake and Kitty Pryde should be together in the comics, it's a little weird to me that he is gay but at the same time I'm not bothered by it. Still though I really wish Bobby and Kitty could have ended up together not just in the movies since they are technically non cannon to the story from what I am told.
I love how Iceman has evolved over the years, especially in terms of his powers. I don't think Bendis pulled off his retcon well, it seemed really contrived and poorly executed, especially considering Iceman's long relationship with Polaris. However, Iceman is still a great character and is doing exciting things.
The thing is not a lot of people know how to write gay characters well. The concept of sexuality having all or nothing to do with the story was lost in the past few years. But he's gotten alot better with the Marauders comics.
ice man getting the recognition he deserves! but also i wanna see a more serious comic based on the Bendis retcon that explores his omega abilities more
I'd prefer ice powers over heat powers IF it's able to go absolute zero or even below. Being able to freeze then shatter things and people would be awesome. Plus being able to make ice constructs would be badass!
I believe that pin you are wearing Miss McKnight is a reference to a board game. Either that or something that is from a show because it looks like a black cat with two tails. Also I think your both very pretty ( very hot) and super down to earth with your fans (super cool).
I think that panel is often taken out of context. I don't think she outed to him everyone. I think that was a convo between them. But I could be mis-remembering.
His power, officially, is [geo-]thermal manipulation & the #1 listing isn't entirely accurate. It's not the light in itself (well, kinda-sorta), but the particles giving light its visibility that's freezing.
You guys forgot about his ability to teleport himself and others (water molecular inversion type of thing). As seen in Age of Apocalypse. Also shows off his ability to regenerate.
AFAIK Iceman doesn't freeze anything, the freezing and ice are just a secondary effect of his real power which is kinetic absorption. If anything loses kinetic energy it freezes because it's molecules stop moving. Absolute 0. This also explains why he doesn't feel cold when manipulating ice, or why he can be solid ice that still moves. Also why he resists fire, if had just ice powers ice would melt no matter what. But with kinetic manipulation he can stay frozen and stop the heat (because temperature is just kinetic energy). Light has photons, photons move therefore have kinetic energy which Iceman can control.
The Ice Golems independence sounds like Multiple Man's alter identities when they are formed for long enough they take on their own personalities and independent thoughts.
Can you do a top 10 abilities of morbius the living vampire and a top 10 of Captain America abilities and a top 10 abilities of the Black Panther and from DC Comics a top-10 abilities of wildcat.
You forgot to mention that when Emma Frost was in his body, she found out he had the potential to freeze EVERY ATOM of water on the planet! That's why they consider him Omega level.
Me too. There was no need to change Iceman's sexual orientation. It would have been better for Iceman to just be friends with some new original character that happened to be gay or something like that.
If the x men was in the MCU, Iceman would definitely finish off thanos and probably almost the entire army Also, we need to see the. Fight the avengers when they come out.
