The second and third decrepit birth albums are some of the most incredible tech death I’ve ever listened to. Chucks influence absolutely shines on those two. No idea why they went back to making generic brutal death.
Atheist were actually the first band to do technical death metal before Nocturnes and Death. Piece of time came out in 89, right before The Key came out.
Expected seeing at least one of these on a list like this: Spawn Of Possession's "Cabinet" (2003) or "Incurso" (2012) Nile's "Annihilation Of The Wicked" (2005) The Faceless "Planetary Duality" (2008)
I think it’s funny that despite calling Human the one that “arguably started it all” you have The Key and Unquestionable Presence on here that both came first, and Atheist had a whole album before that
Next time we’re taking about Death let’s get Chuck in there somewhere please. Love that they’re touring and I’m going to see them on the 23rd but let’s give Chuck some recognition here.
Can't even take seriously someone who doesn't watch the SHORT until the end. Necrophagist was #2. Also, the band has been dead for a long time and although it's technical, the songwriting is pretty mediocre. The only things that stand out with this ex-band are the guit solos. That's it. The rest is incredibly boring.
i adore chuck and his influence covers the world to this day. but to me human isn’t #1 of all time, it’s just a good place of origin to point to. gorguts’ pleiades dust, whatever vitriol is doing, and katalepsy personally for me are doing things at a faster, groovier, and more technical level so far.
Where the fuck is obscura or beyond creation or the zenith passage or the faceless seriously where the fuck is obscura akrosois album shit is beautiful and tight AF
💯 agree....not to mention where is rings of saturn? Infant anhililator? And first and foremost 'FIRST FRAGMENT' With the man himself playing bass Dominic lapointe

Yeah I was like "whoever made this video doesn't know technical death metal, no ORIGIN, no beneath the massacre, no Internal Suffering, no braindrill, those bands are all fukn insane as fuck and didn't even make the list I mean WHAT THE FUCK!!
Inferi and TBDM are underrated af. They both should be on here. "Nocturnal" by TBDM and "The Path Of Apotheosis" by Inferi are a couple of the best death metal albums ever imo.
None So Vile has to be #1 Gorguts is #2 Death I would just put in top Death Metal albums. Archspire and Rivers of Nihil shouldn’t be top 10. We’re talking about death metal legends here those are robotic studio bands who didn’t makes decent album past 5 or 6 years ago. Also add Demilich. Every other mention I can’t argue with because they’re all classics.
@@Amoeba_Podre best ? LOL it was decent but both of Ad Nauseam’s albums alone are a better listen. It’s all technicality and no personality or soul. It’s death metal for djent and deathcore kids and putting them on a top 10 of all time is dumb. Spawn of Possession did the same thing better over 10 years ago and Necrophagist or even Nile did the same thing better over 20 years ago. Everything else on the list are classics that belong there.
this list isnt just about how technical they are, and this bands are equally as influential as suffocation, and even more (death for example), but yeah, its a shame thah suffocation isnt in this list
@TopTenTunes CRYPTOPSY, INTERNAL SUFFERING, BEYOND CREATION, NECROPHAGIST, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, BRAIN DRILL, RINGS OF SATURN, CYTOTOXIN, MORE IS MORE and ORIGIN
Totally agree! Top 3 tdm - akroasis, gorod (2012 or 2015) and spawn of possession ( cabinet or the apparition) Atheist, cynic, sadist, demilich, death, martyr, beyond creation, anata - are groups which have great albums for top 10 Pestilence 89 is a masterpiece, but proggy albums sounds not so great nowadays Cryptopsy, Suffo are for brutal top Gorguts - obscura great album, but not for tdm too
