Imagine how poor Marco felt when he came to in the hospital and realized he ate his dog to survive ….. like he probably didn’t even realize what he was doing at the time like those experts said
Imagine surviving 90 days and being criticized by people sitting there eating their ramen and judging you. Seeing your dog starve couldn't have been easy, ending his suffering was both life-saving and merciful. As our host says- never judge unless you walk in someone's shoes.
Marco wasn't wrong for eating the dog. He actually spared the dog from the painful starvation and dehydration, it was for food, and also a mercy killing, if you really think about it. There's no way he could've gotten enough food for his dog, when he couldn't feed himself.
It is amazing how self-righteous people can be, sitting comfortably in their warm homes with full refrigerators, to criticize someone for doing what they have to do to survive. Do they not think those people might be traumatized enough?
Yessss MissSunnyF42 they themselves don’t know what they would’ve done in any of these situation. I say what though maybe they should go and walk a mile in there shoes then come back and comment
@@christinalariviere284 Hahahaha No, Christina. Because if you knew the story, then you would know that if those people had not consumed their counterparts, they would have died. Those sitting on their comfy chairs at home are not, presumably, dead. Therefore they have not been through the such dire a situation. Additionally, I take no issue with people NOT eating human flesh to survive, so no, Christina. Your point is moot. Thank you for your delightful line of inquiry, however. I did need the laugh today.
Had to unsubcribe many channals due to long boring intros... 'no Rae i dont care if you have a new chair!! '... A full 9 mins of chatter about a new chair before i gave up and moved on.
You should do one on Jean Hilliard. She was so frozen that her skin could not be pierced by hypodermic needles - the needles just broke on contact. Her body temperature was so low that it didn’t register on a thermometer. Her face was an ashen-gray color and her eyes didn’t respond to changes in light. Even though the medical staff thought she was dead, they decided to gradually warm up her body with heating pads. Eventually, they got a faint pulse of 12 beats per minute.
But killing a dog, your beloved companion. Just imagine your best friend coming out you with a knife while you're sleeping and just killing you for food.
You can't judge; you have to try to survive however you can. Sometimes circumstances are horrific...but they got out! Don't torture them with the judgements you make in your comfortable home.
I just wanted to say that Joe didn't climb out of the cravas. As he had two broken legs. He had to make the terrifying decision to continue down into the darkness and crawl through freezing waters and amazingly found a way out. When he finally crawled his way down to the camp his partner was so distraught that he thought he was the ghost of his friend. The story is amazing and horrible and an amazing show of humans ability to fight to survive.
These are absolutely amazing stories of human endurance. It's great you tell these stories. It's also refreshing to hear some of the ones that are not as circulated. Great👍Job
Yes coz imagine the dog thinking this is fun been out and the suddenly gets killed by his owner that he loved and watched him kill the dog like poor baby had to go through that he could of just let the dog go
@@XxSheluvxX no comparison in my opinion and I'm a freaking dog lover. Have you ever went more than a day or two without food? I'll bet you haven't because if you experience that feels like you would eat your own fingers
People commenting way more about the dog than about the people that literally had to eat their relatives and friends in the plane crash/Donner party 🤦🏻♀️🥴
The Andes survivors did what they had to do and the remains of those they ate weren't strangers they were their friends and family. One man lost his mother and sister. He was one of the men who went looking for help.
I am surprised Terry Jo Duperrault isn't on here. She was only 11 years old and left to die along with her family on sinking boat, but managed to get into a small lifeboat. She was stranded at sea for 84 hours before a cargo ship found her. Also Harrison Odjegba Okene. He survived 3 days in a ship underwater. The footage of the diving crew finding him and the look of relief on his face is amazing!
The will to survive can be amazing! You never know how you will react until your in a situation. I don't know if I could eat my dog or fellow human beings, but you shouldn't judge till youv'e walked in someone else's shoes!
Watched a documentary about the survivers of the plane crash that had to eat their friends and family, it doesn't focus on the fact that they had to eat people, but talked about everything, its really good and did well with showing the emotions throughout the experiences they went through
@6:16 where she thanks the engineers who dedicate their lives to building prosthetic limbs-so true! I work with different kinds of engineers-software engineers-but the company I work for is doing something groundbreaking and I don’t believe it’s possible to overstate the brilliance, ambition, and creativity of these people. They are incredible. Like with so many other kinds of specialized thinkers and doers (artists, scientists, adventurers…) engineers are uniquely talented. It takes a different kind of mind, to be capable of what they accomplish, and they really are not recognized enough.
What frightens me are the partial Transhumanism limbs. Whereby the person thinks and a neurotransmitter moves a limb. I hear that these people are no longer totally human, but part robot. And it's said that this is done by the enemy because Jesus's sacrifice applies to humans and technology is considered forbidden knowledge. What do you think?
Great job, thank you for keeping the details minimal on some of these extreme measures. It's nice to get the whole story without being triggered to much.
I hate how people get upset about animal death more than human death. I LOVE animals, alright? But human beings have a life too and sometimes they have too much to lose. All death is heartbreaking. But it's so sad when some people would rather watch a person die rather than an animal.
Yes coz imagine the dog thinking this is fun been out and the suddenly gets killed by his owner that he loved and watched him kill the dog like poor baby had to go through that he could of just let the dog go and I would save a dogs life other than a humans
@@XxSheluvxX Your forgetting that the dog not being able to survive on its own as its spent its entire life depending on humans to feed it and has no clue how to prey on animals.
It was Jack Black's mom Judith Love Cohen who saved the day in 1970 with Apollo 13, she gave birth to him that day, then went to nasa with the rotation device she was working on which ultimately saved them, true story
Who else watches these videos to make yourself fall asleep?? After a bit I get tired and sometimes I fall asleep or when I get too tired I shut it off and go to bed lol. Don't tell me I'm the only one. Don't worry amazing top 10 I always come back later and finish the video ❤
That poor guy with his dog..i can understand why some people could be upset, but come on, do you really think he would have resorted to such an extreme if it wasn’t absolutely necessary? Poor guy now has to live with that with the rest of his life with awful people, who have clearly never been stuck in that situation, giving him hate for no reason..come on, man will do what we have to if put in a fight or flight situation that we cannot control 🙏🏻🤦♀️
Yes he was full of guilt, especially because after he killed his dog when he tried he eat him, he was so starved he couldn't digest anything as he would throw up.. I think he was also rescued just a day later..
It doesn't help that SpongeBob has over 60 mentions of suicide and most songs and cartoons have it in their subliminal messages. There is a demon attached to you, please allow the Holy Spirit to flow through you. On the authority of the Blood of the Lamb, in Jesus's name I command all demons and evil entities begone from you. Accept your healing, you are never alone, your birth was no accident and you are so loved.
When I first had my son I was very paranoid and kept a whistle and scissors in my car, a pair of scissors Incase one of us could get to seat belt. Whistle incase I was right off the road some where maybe some one would hear me. I wish the 1st lady had a whistle:
Can you tell us what happened to the trash who not only stole from but then abandoned the man who'd been attacked by a bear after it was found out that that there companion hadn't really died ? You know what, I think I'm going to check it out myself. I love reading! Yes I know how dorky that sounds 👅
"Houston, we have a problem". I found that entire "episode" uplifting. each and every subject demonstrated how powerful the instinct of self preservation can be. maby that's why l always bet on the underdogs
I was wondering if Alison's story would be on one of these. There is a documentary about her, just called "Alison" (one L) with her I believe as the narrator telling it all, and I watched it on either Prime Video or Netflix a few years ago. If anyone is hardcore enough to hang in there through it, it is the most unbelievable survival story I have EVER heard let alone from the survivor herself. One of the things that stuck with me and has haunted me since watching it was how for (and hour? More? I can't remember) she tried to flag down the scarce number of cars out in the middle of nowhere but people were too afraid of her to stop. She said her head kept flopping back between her shoulder blades and she had to pull it back up using her hair in order TO SEE the headlights of potential cars coming along. All the while holding her intestines in so she didn't TRIP over them. The story is clearly told in severely graphic detail so if that's your thing, or you can stomach it just to see what a miraculous survival story it is and how insanely brave and strong Alison is, definitely give it a watch. I actually looked for it the other day and do remember seeing it I think on Netflix. Just beware, this is NOT meant for anyone under like 16-18 years old and even then viewer discretion is highly advised. It's the most intense thing I have ever heard and it really gave me the creeps. What an unbelievable experience and such a heroic woman just determined to bring these sick people to justice. A true horror story.
When it’s die or eat your dog nobody knows what they will do. It’s real easy sitting into your comfy chair, in your warm house, with your full plate of food and self righteously declare, “I would never eat my dog!”
It’s amazing how some people just want to give up on life and do their best to end it. Then you see things like this, and the stories of people doing everything to stay alive..it’s just sad
I’m a dog lover but people commenting way more about the dog and not about the plane crash/donner party who had to eat their own relatives and friends to survive?? Y’all strange. The dog was also starving
Wow, I forgot about Angela, in Big Sur. I live in Monterey Ca, really close. My best friend , and I were speaking about her disappearance, my best friend said that a lot of roads were under construction due to fire/mudslides, and she hoped she didn’t go off the road, and no one knows! Then we got the news! Looked at my bestie, a lil different after that!
Good job. As always. I was reading some lines the other day for a monologue. First one in a long time… wasn’t easy committing all of that to memory. Haha.
I don’t understand why someone would be upset about anyone doing what they can to survive being put in that situation you would do the same if you really had too . No one wants too
Wait. What. No! You can't just end the Hugh Glass story like that! I feel like I was left on a cliffhanger. A 'to-be-continued'. I'm so happy he made it back alive!! YAY! 👏👏 Strong man!! Bt, I want to know what happened to the two guys who lied, stole from him, & left him there to die! Did they face justice? Did a lynch mob form? Did the firing squad catch them in the night? I want to know that they paid for that!! Lol sorry, it just pisses me off tht they left him there like that. 😤😡🤬
Just can't get away from Olivia she's so chill and nice and apparently hosting on multiple channels, keep working girl! **Drake's "Make Me Proud" starts playing** and not just cause of you being a cute canadian
In Italy, where I live but for sure wasn’t the only place, cats were used as food in poor families and during ww1 and 2 in families that couldn’t afford food anymore because of war inflation. So much so that in most north Italian regions, even mine Piedmont, after the wars ended it was considered a delicacy. Passed from being poor people food to some snob food. Now there’s not a law that directly declares illegal to eat cats and dogs but for the furs, its implicit though through the laws for the regulation of meats. I’m some really small villages it is still a thing through older generations.
I know you have immense respect for your animals as i do. If anything like these examples happen to you and your family depended on you and your animals are going to starve and die you're choice is simple. Die or eat the animals. Think of this , if it was q child or wife would you want them to eat the animals or die a horrible death ☠️ of starvation. If it ce down to this Everyone will die a horrible death or eat animals. Pass. the leg 🦵 of dogtoe please
All these years of hearing about the Donner party in the cannibalistic actions they had to take. I never knew it was called Donna Reed? That Donna Reed was an actress? Well you learn something new everyday!
HOLY MACARONI, has anyone here seen the show "I shouldn't be alive" ? some of those stories are in here. Its mind boggling tbh, and the stories are so sad. These stories and others, are the reason why I am a home body. LOL
Omg you left out an amazing part of the Shackleton story - they landed on the UNINHABITED side of South Georgia Island and trekked THROUGH MOUNTAINS to get to the whaling station on the other side. I want to say it took 36 hours. One of the documentaries about this story shows world-class mountaineers with modern equipment making the same journey, and they were extremely impressed how they were able to do it in 1914
Steve was lost at sea for two months and he managed to keep himself alive the whole time!? I could've swore he died for a week or so somewhere in there! 😂
I am so grateful. Most of us in developed countries live like Kings in great shape. We need to be grateful every day we don't have to be in the same situation as these people.
Olivia, I hope you don't mind me saying, but you are pretty. Olivia was my grandmother's name. I enjoy your narration, you have a of an angel. Thank you for sharing.
0:16 you are taught to either hit the brakes or run over the animal. NEVER turn your steering wheel. You dont need to be a pro driver to know this. This is literal basics taught starting from day 1
Apollo 13, everyone, everywhere was glued to their TVs with fingers and everything else crossed, it really brought everyone together. There were lots of tears when they landed safely.
We hear how grief-stricken the man who had to eat his dog probably was, but imagine having to kill your furry friend in order to survive, and then not being able to stomach or keep it down? That happened to one poor woman in the jungle, and I cannot imagine... Not only did she survive to realize she never had to do that in the first place, but she couldn't even get anything down. That guilt would hang over me forever... But there was no way she would have ever known.
The one with Marco makes me wanna trade in my chihuahua. Seriously though, I can't imagine having to eat my dog. Truly man's best friend. I think that the dog understood and gave his life to save his friends.
