I remember when I used to live in Hanoi 8 years ago (I lived in Hoang Mai district), I used to take my little motorbike out and go for a stroll around West Lake (Ho Tay) at night or early morning. Getting from Hoang Mai to Tay Ho is a journey. The atmosphere is calming and the air is refreshing. Many locals and tourists would walk or cycle around West Lake. The West Lake area/district is also a popular/well known place among Western expats due for its quiet and private neighborhood.
This sounds lovely! We’ve never really explore too much of Tay Ho. We spent a few nights there. We almost rented an apartment on the southeast side of the lake, but decided to pass, and then we’re kicking ourselves for not jumping on it. We’ve noticed that a lot of expats live out there. Many teachers. How did you like Hoang Mai? Perhaps we can check it out the next time we’re in Hanoi!
Ahh so many beautiful memories from this amazing city! Thanks for this video too as there were a few things that we missed while we were there! Next time! ✨
We've thought about checking out Haiphong. It seems super interesting. Like Hanoi, but different, and near the coast! Perhaps we'll have a chance to check it out the next time we visit. 🤗
Mr. Mike & Mrs. Ashley:Congratulations to you guys for your new remarkable video today’s to heads Hanoi, Vietnam in great joy & peace this March of 2024 to tours this amazing Asian country to tried some delicious cuisines, teas, etc. 2024❤❤❤

hey guys, glad I stumblled on your site. We are headed to Vietna,m this friday and I tried to download your google map tool and it will not allow me too. Trying to confirm if there is any issues with the link or is it just on my end?

I feel they have answered your question.. 😎they love so much they continue to return. To tell their story 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Ive been coming here since 2015 and been living here since 2019. Absolutely I agree with them too, it’s cultural, diverse in food and flavours. I think it’s one of the best cuisines on the planet.. and the people young and old are so very friendly and considerate.
It’s really hard to say! Each country has so much to offer and they are all unique. I (Mike) would have to say that Vietnam is the top for me. I can’t speak for Ashley though. But I really enjoy all of them. This region is a gem for sure. Since we’re no longer in SE Asia (for now 😉) we’ve been missing it terribly! We can’t wait to return.
We feel like it is. We’ve never experienced anything in Hanoi that felt seedy or unsafe. Even when walking on our own or at night. Please just exercise caution, keep your wits about you and travel in well lit areas at night. 🙏
I’m sure there are some places where you can use a credit card to exchange EU to VND. But you can certainly bring Euros and exchange them in Vietnam or use your debit card like we did. 😊
Well, look at what two different cultures of the world had to learn from establishing their ways, the French and the Americans. First the French. After losing to the Vietnamese at Dien Bien Phu, it was only after having needed opium for 150 years!!! 😩 Sooo... now... the Americans came into the fighting powers and the Vietnamese didn't even know who they were!!! 😲 But still, the Vietnamese were a good fighting force and won anyway!!! 🥱 BUT!!! What's interesting... the American's is is that they really didn't care about who care about the close such a CLOSE win as a result win. Isn't that interesting?? 🤔
Thanks so much! 🥰🫶 We know it’s a bit obvious at some points, BUT, we feel for someone visiting for the first time it’s a good start! We hope to come back and share some more hidden gems.
Là một người Việt Nam tôi rất cảm ơn các bạn đã yêu quý Việt Nam, không chỉ là mike với Ashley đất nước chúng tôi luôn chào đón tất cả. Thanks you guys so much for your remarkable videos from Hanoi, Vietnam to shows these amazing places in great joy & peace 2024❤❤❤I really LOVE to watches your videos in 2024❤❤❤
Good job, Mike & Ashley. Would love to see you expand this on your next trip. What about the Tay Ho and West Lake area? Maybe show the more modern side like the mall and newly built metro (2nd line is scheduled for June, I think) as people think Hanoi is ONLY the Old Quarter now as they don't realize the Old Quarter is just where Western vloggers love to highlight due to its unique charm, traditions, architecture, etc.
This is a great idea! For this video, we were trying to focus on what we think the top ten would be for someone coming for their first time. We aim to expand our exploration of Hanoi the next time and stay away from all the ‘tourist’ areas. Maybe like a “Hidden Gems of Hanoi” series! 🤔 This type of video was new to us for sure, but it was kind of fun to make! We look forward to making more of these from our times in Vietnam and other places. 🤗
@@mikeandashley Makes sense. I think maybe mixing in a bit of the Old Quarter stuff with newer stuff or other stuff would be good as I was in the comments on another video yesterday and foreigners from surrounding countries like Malaysia and the Philippines thinks Vietnam is still old only because they don't realize Western vloggers love the vibe of the Old Quarter and concentrate on that area. They don't realize it's a big city of millions and that the Old Quarter is kept old for a reason. LOL! I'd love to see all the cafes and patisseries and such. I love how unique the cafes are. Toss in a bit of that pottery area.
We plan to head to Ho Chi Minh City on our next trip to Vietnam! We feel like we should explore more of the southern part of the country for sure! Thanks for the tip!
Congratulations to you guys to heads Hanoi, Vietnam three times on your remarkable visit in this amazing Asian country to tours many places in great joy 2024❤❤❤
A really well put together list video guys! I was entertained from beginning to end: starting with the laugh outtake and finishing with the dreaded "it's not recording" prank. Bravo!
I tried finding a link to the tour, but they are called Hanoi Street Food Tour. We did a video on it a few weeks back. You can find that video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5GUJ9cKWjog.htmlsi=5HBBvIVMsLxSIyHa All of the info is linked in the description! 🤗
It really is. We’ve learned so much by visiting so many places and we’re very grateful for that. Thanks for watching and for all of your continued support! 🫶
Thank you both for coming and introducing Vietnam's beloved capital Hanoi. There will be new and unique differences. We will try to improve more and better services
