@@NadiaGirl1 I think it was because no one in the second movie went to visit a foreign embassy and they're certainly not going to yell at the princess to get off the grass.
Anne Hathaway stated in an interview that the 3rd film is being carefully written and thought out. So they're not in a hurry to film it until it's to their satisfaction. Let's hope they live up their promise! 🥰
I wasn't a fan of the first movie but I love the second one. The "Loathe you! I loathe you more! I loathed you first!" Scene always cracks me up! Mom always busted out laughing at the maids "I been working at the palace" sequel while distracting the queen so Mia could sneakout 😆
As much as I love Michael and was glad to see him end up with Mia I'm the books, Chris Pine(Nicholas) and Anne Hathaway have amazing chemistry and I would LOVE to see them together in the third installment of the series.
Fun fact from the Honorable Mentions: when Mia slipped and fell, that wasn't a planned stunt, it was actually wet, the laughter was real and she was able to get Heather (Lily) to keep going. This is from my fuzzy memory of watching the movie with 2 different commentary tracks, I can't remember if Hector (Joe) running over was his natural reaction or something they added after.
I think it was added after (I watched with the commentary as well long ago lol). Usually in filming they don't tend to shoot multiple shots of the same take all at the same time. They do one take, cut, then do another for a different character and their reaction from a different angle. The editing crew is what makes it look seamless to us when we see the finished product. Her fall being an accident would leave no way for that shot to be organic and natural since they almost definitely shot that bit separately, and not in that same instant. I believe in this instance the director felt after seeing Anne fall and carry on, that it felt like a very 'Mia' thing to do, and so they added the shot of Joe running to her, but then him stopping and seeing that she's not your typical princess who would freak out an cry over such an incident. She can fall down and look like a fool, but she laughs about it and goes on as though nothing happened. He doesn't have to treat her in the same manner as other royals in the past and present. It was an added shot that actually made for a bit more depth to the story and her character. It was by all accounts a 'happy accident' lol
@@ankaangelova9219 maybe but as the video said the movies had a different approach than the books and for the audience that have not read the books would have a different outlook on the relationship between Mia and Nicholas or Mia and Micheal.
@@ankaangelova9219 the second movie completely diverges from the book series so I think we can assume the third movie would do. In this movie universe it would make no sense for micheal and Mia to end up together
@@elliebakker1342 it makes no sense in the book universe either. Book Mia would need a partner to help her rule, and book Michael struck me as much too shy to help her with things like politics and image.
@@chelseafaler6853 Well Mia married Michael in the books too :) I mean as someone who has read the whole series, of course I prefer Michael than some random character who pops out of nowhere.
@@scarabbgg I may have had a similar opinion like you had I read the series but for those who have only seen the movies ,the chemistry might not be there based on the movies and (movies only) ,and since the video stated the movies were different than the books,it is a bit different because we saw the chemistry of Mia and Nicholas and it was wonderful ,and the makers did the character relationship different from the book ,I think. Hope you understand but I respect your point of view but hey please try to see where I am coming from
Wasn't Joe already apart of the royal family in a way. He was the head of the royal guard. If, anything it would be him trying to balance him being head of the royal guard and being the Queen Clarissa husband.
He was planning to retire before Clarisse proposed to him, Mia told him at her almost-wedding, "Hey Joe? Before I do this, I'm sorry you're retiring." And after Clarisse proposed and he accepted, he told Shades that he was in charge now.
Disney films nowadays have princesses that don’t need a man and can stand out on their own. I’m all for that but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I hope they don’t do it with this. I want Anne Hathaway and Chris Pine to get married!!!!
I really hope that Mia's long lost sister shows up. Olivia Grace's backstory was really cool. But considering Mia is probably going to be married to Nicholas, this may not happen
5:39 Julie Andrews can't sing anymore due to a negligent surgery. The song that she performed with Raven in the sequel she admitted to be physically painful. I think having her in the film is blessings enough
Now I know why I rewatched the first two movies last week. Extra excited for this! Also lilly could also have been married for this 3rd installment. By why is Nicholas not fit for Mia? Wasn't he willing to be consort?
I'm more of the book lover and I actually would love to see Micheal come back - maybe Mia hasn't gotten married and Michael comes back to her life because thats who she ended up in the book and I would like to see that happen
The Princess Diaries is coming back? After watching the first two movies, I'm interested to see how things will turn out for Mia and everyone else. Will this sequel be worth the wait? Only time will tell. Happy Saint Patrick's Day! ❤
I believe in the first movie, clarisse explains (on their fun day off) that she had two sons, one being Rupert Mia's late father. it would be nice to be introduced to her uncle
You know in the books Lana ended up with her boyfriend from the first film, who is also her BFF's (and adviser... I think) brother. Will he make an appearance. If this is based solely on the movie I would like to see the Van Trokens (at least the Baron... The Baroness can be redeemed) and Chris Pine's uncle work/plot together on a scheme... But that's just me.
I loved Mia and Michael in the books, but come on, who needs him back if we can have CHRIS EFFIN PINE??? I'm pretty sure he was the cause of my sexual awakening 15 years ago
Literally. Every one who read the books goes on about micheal and Mia, but the books are so different to the movies, and it makes way more sense for her to be with Nicholas in a third movie than micheal
For the third Pricess Diaries movie, I want them to follow the book's story by having Mia meet her bi-ratial half sister. Plus it will give them room to give Mia and the kingdom an heir or two😆
Seeing Mia under pressure as the van couple threaten to overthrow the monarchy would play very well. I would like to see her child also getting into trouble as she would .
I know that Disney has deviated so much from the books but I still hope they would bring some elements of the books back, like Michael, and making Genovia a republic.
Really wish they take a page from the last book of the series "Royal Wedding." I have nothing against Chris Pine but I'm a MichaelxMia fan no matter what happens!!! Some may not like movie!Michael because the acting is a bit lackluster but Michael is simply just the perfect lover for Mia. The love between them is just so natural and pure that it makes one to crave a semblance of that special thing they have. It makes you believe that there is that one person that you can love and trust wholeheartedly with all your being and can even sacrifice and renounce a lot of things just to remain on that person's side. Gosh, I love them so so much 😭 The proposal is just so sweet and the twins!!! THE TWINS!! I WANT THE TWINS AKDJXJSBD
Come on. I wanna Michael back. I read the books, and they get married, and they have twins, and Amelia has a cute little sister. I want all of this!!!!!
I never watched the movies, I only read the books The movies are completely different... Mia’s little brother is called Rocky in the books, and Lana “Thomas” is actually Lana Weinbergher
Michael and Mia need to be together again! It's canon in the books and they got married and had twins! It is also canon in the books that Mia has a long lost half sister who is in her teens, who also writes in diaries. So if they're going with the plot of another heir to the throne, I call for the long lost half sister story! And please bring Michael back! Bring back Chris Pine too so we can have some kind of love triangle lol
Please please bring back Michael! Just like in the books, bring him back and let him proclaim his love for her with Mia realising she loves him too and a sort of fight between Nicholas and Michael just like Michael and JP in the books.
I'd be happy if the third movie more closely follows the final book where she'd been with Michael for many years as he is her true love and they are meant to be together plus in the books, they get married and get pregnant with twins and also, in the books, she actually becomes very good friends with Lana.
I agree also but I wonder sense he was technically in line for the throne cuz he was from a different branch of the royal family (I'm assuming cuz that's how it goes). Would that make him and Mia distant cousins or something?
They were the couple before and anything else would be weird. I'll have to give it a hard pass if they are not a couple here and wonder why they are bothering with a third movie if they are not going to stay consistent.
Mia slipping on the benches wasn’t scripted, Anne really did slip, that laugh was really Anne, but they kept rolling and went with it. Can’t fake that stuff!
I want to see Lilly's brother, Michael, too.. I want to see how his relationship with Princess Mia went after finding out that she is a Princess and what happened to his band, the fly paper.. Also, a possible Love Triangle between Michael, Mia and Nicholas..
@@nl7541 Yes. And then they eventually do conceive a child as well as show Mia dealing with various pregnancy complications before giving birth to a beautiful baby girl.
Guess I'm in the minority, because I want her with Nicholas. They had way more chemistry than she did with Michael. Anyway. I think she and Michael had puppy love. She met Nicholas when she grew into the person Genovia needed while she was just coming into her own when she was with Michael.
Monarchs don't usually marry teenaged crushes. They need someone with credentials to help them run the show. Plus having him as a Prince Consort instead of king would be a perfect position. His status permanently under hers.
Agreed. I've got nothing against Michael, I liked him fine, but her interactions with Nicholas just felt more... real, I guess. We actually see a relationship develop with her and Nicholas, while with her and Michael it... well it develops, but it does it less and not as meaningfully. Probably because she's a teenager while she's with Michael and an actual adult with Nicholas. Which is another point in Nicholas' favor.
@@daniellemusella1594 If anything, this one might be her getting married after graduating college, and equally long engagement because she's needed time to accept becoming queen and getting comfortable. Mandy Moore might have had a so so movie before princess diary her debut film a walk to remember.
Lol I remember rewatching these movies many times last autumn and searching for information about a possible third movie. And all I found was that they had talked about it, they had a script but the director died and it wasn't confirmed. I'm so happy to hear that it's happening.
Sipu97 I think there Also doubt them because there are new princess diaries books. The author got inspiration from William and Kate’s wedding but then there was Harry and Megan’s and princess Beatriz.
@@NadiaGirl1I doubt that since the first movie was 2001 and the second in 2004; William and Catherine didn't get married until 2011. It was Eugenie who got married recently not Beatrice.
First of all, love triangles are never interesting or fun and used way too much. Second, Michael was awful. The character might have been fine but the actor was always staring off like a spaced out drug addict. Terrible actor with the personality of a wet noodle.
Bring back Mandy Moore but don’t even mention Michael? I don’t get it. He wasn’t even an honorable mention. 😡Mandy Moore’s character isn’t really necessary but I would love to see Michael.
in the books Lana actually became friends with Mia. It's been a wonderful to read that. But the second movie butchered the universe, so the third movie cannot be anything else than a tacky piece far removed from the world built in the books.
Gary Marshall chose to direct the film because he thought the title was "Princess Dairies". I'm not sure why you expected it to reflect the books at all.
I didn't realize he was in the first one until I watched this video, I knew he looked familiar when I watched it various times. I never thought it was him until today.
I always hated how her curly hair was seen as a "flaw" and how she was portrayed "more beautiful" with straight hair. Would love to see her rock her curls.
Princess Diary 3: Royal Wedding Mia & Nick still engaged after all this year. They've been putting off their wedding since they both are passionate with what they're doing (Mia being a queen and Nick being a...what ever the background story Cabot has written). Genovia PM is a woman. Lily is married with the royal guard and a mother and a producer in Genovia news channel. Anyway, these are all what happen in my head. 😁
Y'all are forgetting Michael, Mia's first love interest. Instead of them crushing on each other again, I'd just like to see a cute friendship between them.
YES. FINALLY someone talking sense! No awkward love triangle, no digging up old flames, just Mia and Michael being friends. There aren't enough good platonic relationships between males and females in films these days, so I would LOVE to see this. THAT would be a good way to bring him back.
José Hebert Limones after reading all these previous comments, I FINALLY read one that is relatable!!! Michael Moscovitz IS NEEDED!!!! Maybe I’ll ask him about it when I see him play in June
If Mia's father fell in love with a commoner, Mia can also fall in love with a commoner (Michael). I miss him, his character was tender, he saw her when she "was invisible".
