I remember watching Eagle as a promising new force on the tour and Kyle has the same next level look to his game. But Eagle isn't even "old" or middle career yet.... The future of the sport is in really really good hands.

Number 5 is an amazing hole for coverage. You don't have to switch to catch cam to see the result. The disc gets a long flight. The ground play is exciting. And the hole looks beautiful. Thanks for all you do, Jomez.

I can’t even throw a backhand 400 feet and eagle is out here throwing standstill forehands 450 feet

RIGHT! I can get 500 with a backhand... BUT, that's with like a james conrad run up!!! Eagle just does a straddle stand still 450 and it looks like he didn't even try! Have you ever seen his video where he threw almost 1000 at a Colorado course I believe... it was a long downhill shot, but he still went like 1k

I can throw 400 easily forehand, but shank everything I throw backhand. Definitely frustrating seeing all the pros throw satisfying backhands for sure

I can throw a 400+ foot off a drive. Eagles body is made for effortless forehands plus he is the best at it. A lethal combo.

The coverage of this masterpiece filled set was better than any TV network would ever do. Congrats, wonderful. I grew up with wide world of sports and this is so much better. "The thrill of discery, and the agony of, well no agony this time..." And what a sublime set of masterful throws. Amazing.

I'm 52 years old I was a teenager when this sport first came out. I thought man this will never catch on. Now look at it. They're on TV with commentators the crowd and digital trajectories.

The sport has blown up really just in the pandemic. I started playing in June 2020, got hooked immediately. We (roommates and I) found a course 5 minutes from us and started going 3-4 times a week. Within a month we noticed the course was getting busier and busier with lots of other new players. Now, the top guys (Paul Mcbeth and Ricky Wysocki) both signed 7-figure contracts and are both equally focused on growing the sport. Disc golf is exploding.

Really feel like Hammes’s standstill forehand upshot should be higher. Very similar to Eagle’s and it was number one. Fantastic video though!

I keep watching it... it was thrown with SO MUCH anhyzer, it came out at like 45 degrees and somehow still flattened out.

@@WillPeterson I believe he threw a force. It was a ridiculous shot from an awkward lie. I think he had to throw so much anhyzer because a bush obstructed his swing. Distance wasn’t as far as Eagle’s but was still absolutely insane. The power and angle control he displayed as well as the creativity of chopping down on a stable disc due to an obstructed swing is something you hardly ever see even during pro tour event. Insanely difficult scramble shot. Imo it should be #3.

Eagle's shot over the guardrail is perhaps the best in disc golf shot I have ever seen in 42 years of playing. Mostly because of the stance. James Conrads throw in at the worlds is probably second due to the timing. I have watched James do shots like that for years now. Kevin's ace at skins is 3rd. 4th is when I witnessed an overhead ace at a tournament. The disc hit in front of the basket, tacod, then did a back flip into the basket.

I'm looking at Kyle's shot at 2:45... I believe that all supporting points need to be in bounds when the disc is released. It's awfully close, but I think his throw comes out while his right foot is still on the OB road. Am I crazy? Was it technically a legal or an illegal shot? Obviously just armchair officiating here, but it caught my eye.

It's still in his hand when he lifts his back foot up. If you pause around 2:46-2:47 the disc is in his hand until it's almost even with his head (relative to the camera angle). Hard to tell but the back foot might even be off the ground when the disc is at his chest; either way it's up before release. Pros don't start pulling the disc forward until essentially all their body weight has shifted to their front foot, so it would actually be pretty difficult to throw with proper form and still have that foot touching out of bounds, even for someone who drags their back toe which Klein doesn't seem to do (with this angle and the position of the lie vs the road, etc). I wouldn't normally reply and dig up old comments on a video but you asked only a couple months ago :)

I guess I better add a prediction too before it loads. Logic says it would be from the final round from Eagle to secure the win later in the round. So it was probably on the back 9. Maybe on hole 17? That long ass death putt with severe elevation changes? Was that 17? Let's see if I'm right.
