Cecily sitting on Bill Haders lap in the wheelchair was so hilarious. I honestly don’t know how she held it together during the Close Encounter skit which imo is one of the funniest I have seen!
Cecily was amazing on SNL. She's one of the top reasons I got into SNL. She played very convincing characters and even when her jokes were hilarious, she rarely broke character.
Same. I've barely watched SNL since she left because I always felt like she was a foundation of my enjoyment of the show. I don't think the quality has waned or anything, but I don't think anyone has filled the hole that she left, which is completely understandable since every cast member creates their own imprint.
I have been infatuated by Cecily Strong since her first appearance on SNL. I hope her career goes much further than mobile phone service commercials. 💋😆💋😆
When I realized that Cecily was leaving the show, I was in tears, as the cast that I started watching the show with were all almost all gone! (Season 40)
I started watching during season 12 when I was 12 years old, so that cast will always be the definitive one for me. Most, if not all, of them were gone by the mid 1990s. I still remember watching the first episode of season 21 in late 1995, which had an almost entirely new cast. I specifically remember the "Get off the shed" skit, which was Will Ferrell's first-ever skit. I thought that particular skit was funny but it felt like a completely different show and I lost interest in watching it regularly. I only know the newer cast members from various skits I've watched on RU-vid, because I haven't watched an actual live episode of SNL since about 1997. I love Cecily Strong and Vanessa Bayer, but I couldn't care less about any of the others.
I have always thought, Man, if only SNL had somebody re-stating every line word for word through every skit". Thank you MsMojo for clarifying what we just heard with our own ears.
I agree with a lot of these. However, the "Brothers" sketch with Liev Schreiber should have been included. Cecily really struggled to keep from laughing in that one.
