Jensen Ackles’ performance as Jason Todd in Under the Red Hood was top tier. The anger, sadness, and regret he exhibited in his voice was so intense it gave me goosebumps.
Batman: Under the Red Hood was a masterpiece as it own right. How funny thing that Jensen Ackles who voiced Jason Todd/Red Hood would go on to voice as Batman in Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 & 2.
There's one to add to the list. Just before Earth 12 is destroyed, BTAS Batman goes out with Joker in hand, because... HE. IS. BATMAN. RIP again, Kevin Conroy.
I can think of a more chilling moment from "Gods and Monsters": The flashback when that universe's Wonder Woman (the daughter of Highfather of the New Gods) married Orion, but was the only survivor of a slaughter engineered by Highfather himself. Considering in most DC stories Highfather is considered one of the main forces for Good and that he engineered what was essentially the Red Wedding, that really sold that this was not your father's Justice League.
1. The Death of Superman 2. Reign of The Supermen 3. Batman The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 4. Superman Red Son 5. Superman vs The Elite 6. Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox 7. Batman Under The Red Hood 8. Batman Beyond Return of The Joker 9. Legion of Superheroes 10. Injustice My Favorite Best DC animated movies ever
I can believe that some version of Superman would be broken by what he experiences in Injustice. But I think after killing Joker he's probably just leave rather than try to conquer the Earth (as he did when He killed the three kryptonians in the other timeline).
I can't believe Batman: The Dark Knight Returns PT2 didn't make the list. If you haven't seen it, go see it. You'll know the scene I'm talking about when you see the movie. I won't spoil it for you. All I can say is 😮MG!
Don’t think for a SECOND that these movies are all just awesome action sunflowers and funny shenanigans lilies, ‘cause these movies are HARDLY Kid friendly, ESPECIALLY since the source materials that they’re based on aren’t exactly kid friendly either!
Red Hood is easily my favorite animated Batman movie. Killing Joke is good too, but the opening scene and recurring thing of as relationship was awful.
I always loved the red hood movie. Whenever he said "he took me away from you." I can never get over how well the line was delivered. Awesome voice acting
"Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us into something better. And on my soul, I swear that until my dream of a world where dignity, honor and justice are the reality we all share, I'll never stop fighting. Ever." - Superman vs. the Elite (2012)
Impossible dream. If we cannot stand against true evil and be able to actually tell the difference, which Americans are unable to do, then the dream of a peaceful world would never be.
The fact that the animated DCU had a better tie in stories and stand alone stories than the live action says alot. My favorites being Hush, Gotham Gaslight, and The Long Halloween pts 1&2.
Batman movies really are the best. Since James Gunn says elseworlds movies will be a thing it’s not too far fetched anymore to think we could get a live action Batman Gotham By Gaslight.
@@uwotm8649 Batman and the Justice League movies are my go toos that I can watch more than any other of the DC movies. I hope you are right with the elseworlds I’d love to see The Long Halloween on the big screen. 🤗
It's because they don't have to fulfill studio expectations to make hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office, so they're not trying to appeal to a mass audience.
@@uwotm8649Unfortunately, James Gunn has lied about almost everything else, since he took over DC, so I wouldn't put any bets down. example - The new Superman film will not be an origins film - J.Gunn - It will be about a young Superman first getting to Metropolis and finding himself as a rookie reporter. That's pretty much an origin story for Supes. He also said there would be no other heroes in the Superman film and later announced there would be 3 or 4 'appearances'. He's said plenty more - Check out MrHReviews for more details.
"Batman: Under the Red Hood" will always be one of my favorite DC animated films. Jensen Ackles absolutely NAILED his performance as Jason Todd. Especially the scene when he finally confronts Batman about the Joker, his acting is so strong. You can really hear the pain in Ackles's voice as he delivers the lines, and you truly feel for the former Robin as he questions why his mentor, his father figure, did not finally put an end to his killer.
I was expecting to see the scene in Return of the Joker when Tim Drake kills the Joker. That scene was so jaw dropping, they had to make an alternate scene.
I like both the Uncut and Theatrical deaths of the Joker. While the Uncut version is far more extreme and disturbing, I have to give credit to the Theatrical for managing to pull it off in a different way. We don't see Joker's death, but his final scream is haunting. That said, I do prefer the Uncut death as it confirms without a doubt that the Joker did die that night, which added more to the mystery of how he was back.
I absolutely Hate Justice League Dark Apokolips war for 1. Killing op and beloved characters 2. Nerfing my boi Nightwing & Bae Starfire 3. John Constantine 4. Being too edgy and not having a happy understandable ending and 5. DC has a stupid and selfish habit of always rebooting their universes in awful ways and act like nothing happened. I think DC writers are just edgelords who hate anything light hearted and hate loving relationships they nearly butchered my Nightstar ship. Thank Christ we have the powers of imagination and fanfics to do whatever we want.
DC animated movies are better than all the "real" DC movies and all of the MCU combined. They should just give them all the money and market those movies more. This is prime time quality super heroes films.
Well they had to do something since said "Heroes don't do that". (Going down that is) Comics readers that followed Green arrow and Black Canary relationship know that's a lie
One DC movie scene that left me speechless was that scene from “ Suicide squad hell to pay” was near the end when we found out that Zoom had a hole in his head from a bullet the entire time I also like, how are used his speed force to keep his Time of dying extended.
Own it never watched it. Just looks like it was a lot of killing for just to be depressing. Killing joke is also just monumentally stupid and does a complete and an utter disservice to Barbara Gordon
1 of the most jaw dropping moments ever was the moment Flash was easily killed off in Injustice. That was even more shocking and unexpected, especially after the games and comics
The part where Aquaman is talking to the lobster at 2:06 reminds me of when The Deep was talking to a lobster in “The Boys”. that meeting did have a happy ending.
The scene where Superman slays the partygoers actually leads to a deviation from the games that fans actually loved aka Wonder Woman realizing she was wrong for stoking Superman's descent into tyranny. Wonder Woman: "You killed them all didn't you?" Superman: "I was being strong liked you asked me to." Wonder Woman: "Yes you have to be strong but only against the criminals who deserve it those were just children mere youths who had no idea the man whose life they were celebrating was a psychotic mass murderer."
the reason batgirl lost her V-card to batman is because the writer wanted to prove his point that heros arent exempt to non-horror cliche's as horror ones....thus joker hurting batgirl shocking everyone and leaving everyone speechless XD
And DC/ Warner Bros find a way to destroy those masterpieces. Zack start to show us a new way to see those heroes and they kick him out before achieving his vision who was perfect (for me) . 😢 please DC don't touch UNDER THE RED HOOD .
I, for one, figured it out VERY FAST that with the reimagining of Aquaman from the original Justice League animated series in 2001, that the so called "whimpy" hero was, in fact, given his massively long denied *Due*.. he can withstand the pressures of the bottom of the sea! The pressures that WE CANNOT go to because virtually all our ships would be crushed like tinfoil.. and HE moves down there as freely as he pleases. This translates into an incredibly powerful body that is massively strong and heavily resistant to damage, and his primary power to control sea life... there's some things down there that the majority of humanity has NEVER seen.. and I'm talking HORRORS of the deep in a very literal sense (( in that universe)).. the fact that he can call and control them.. that is NOTHING to take lightly in any sense of the word! The only other thing that I honestly hated was that they either couldn't or didn't get Mark Hamel to play the iconic voice of the Joker in "Under the Red Hood".. it just wasn't as good without him.. ( at least in my little opinion )
I will never never never never never never ever forgive the directors and writers of that horrendous Apokolips war movie honestly why did they have to do that to their universe. Also the fact that they nerfed the hell out of Starfire and Nightwing makes it even more unforgiving and makes my anger indescribable. Why can’t we just have at least one light hearted ending to a DC movie where no one sacrifices themselves or anyone gets brainwashed.
Same man it was unnecessary and just to show how compassionless the writers at dc are. They have no empathy or love for their characters always nerfing and disrespecting them.
Yep. I'm all for exploration and trying new things but Apokolips War was an absolute travesty. Any time they turn Superman into a killer, the writers have lost the plot. It's not edgy, or different. It's just.....bad.
@@kyleroussel most DC writers are nothing but full on edgelords that don’t care about love or compassion they just love to disrespect certain op characters and reboot their universes 24/7?
Honestly disappointed that Batman the Dark Knight Returns wasn’t in this list at all. That movie was almost all completely dark all the fights were so dark and gritty making you question if Batman would survive in his old age. Or that Jokers mind control lipstick where he assaults Selena, his killing spree on tv murdering people at the fair. Hell even Batman throwing a batarang right into Jokers eye or Joker snapping his own neck. That whole movie was dark as shit
I’m sure we will get more of these kinds of scenes as the years go along. I really want to see more Batman beyond and red tornado the red bit has been overlooked for so long. We need more beyond and how much longer can older Bruce live before age or something takes him and how will the new bat handle things without him and the old crew we really need an arkham knight style game set in Neo Gotham that would be cool.
