AND this is why That’s So Raven will forever be the best show on Disney Channel.

See, THIS is how a kid's show can still be funny and get serious when it needs to be and not make it feel awkward. I applaud newer Disney shows like Andi Mack for tackling more serious matters, but it seems that ever since like 2013 or so every kid or teen show that deals with serious issues makes it very melodramatic and they aren't balanced out by tons of humorous moments in episodes that aren't serious episodes

Can we also acknowledge that in the body positivity episode it doesn't really demonize the slimmer model. At the end both Raven and the girl stand up for themselves in solidarity.

The tall kid who can’t count and was pressuring Corey to steal is Kyle Massey’s real life brother Christopher Massey.😊 Definitely liked him better on “Zoey 101” though.

I remember being so impressed that they were able to tackle something as topical as racism in a kids' show, without talking down to their target audience. Truly the best way of sharing the message! 😍💞

“Sometimes bad news is really an opportunity in disguise.” I will never forget loving this show as a kid, but only learned that lesson last year.

They don’t make them like they used too. That’s So Raven is easily one of the best Disney Channel shows of all time! I’m a 24 year old white girl…I didn’t really realize until I got older that That’s So Raven and The Proud Family, two of my favorite shows, taught so much, especially regarding black history and black culture.

There was one where Cory and raven thought there parents were divorcing and kept trying to keep them together and asked Eddie for help since he had divorced parents and he thought it was his fault but it taught that it’s not a child’s fault nor his problem it’s the parents.

I wish Raven's home could've been more of the original series taught us. Through Booker's eyes, but sadly like all reboots they always miss the mark. Like in the first season of the reboot it was all about Booker's powers. They also took out Chelsea's character of her being an eco warrior and vegetarian.

That's So Raven is among many examples that kids shows can be just as funny, clever, exciting and groundbreaking as adult shows. I'm in my 20s and the only current live action kids shows I've seen are Raven's Home, Sydney to the Max, Secrets of Sulphur Springs, The Astronauts, Drama Club and Side Hustle. So I don't know if the other current live action kids shows are following this approach of NOT talking down to its audience like the current ANIMATED kids shows.

Thats So Raven is THE best Disney show in my opinion. I can watch it again after all these years and not cringe at all at it. Great lessons aswell :) Also the episode where Chelsea falls out with Raven over using chinchilla fur in her design. Taught us that animals are living beings with feelings too and their lives matter ❤

That’s so Raven was such an amazing and grounded family show that deserves its flowers! It highlighted a black family in a beautiful way and a well rounded cast with great comedic timing and smart writing. Raven Symone brought so many layers to Raven Braxter that made such a memorable show for Disney! It was my time favorite Disney Channel original show and it tackled social issues unlike any other.

First they gave a black queen physic power and she teaches lessons to the youth 👏🏽❤️. Disney needs more shows like this they are so dumb nowadays my child is so watching Disney plus in the future.

You should have combined Raven’s home with that because the vaping episode was powerful.

You forgot the Be Prepared episode. It was about safety and being prepared in hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc.

Wow I forgot about that first episode. Man I miss when Disney had Black characters that showcased their culture. But I'm super glad to hear they're including LGBT characters! That would have been great to see growing up I felt I had to hide a part of myself.

It's like Hollywood conveniently forgets sometimes that there's a such thing as plus size models. Like every star model has to be an unhealthy twig.

To be honest the weight issues is what I could relate to when I was younger. I was bullied for it and wanted to die because everyone picking on me saying I was pregnant when I wasn't. But now 20 I'm happy with myself

"Smart Guy" had an episode about racism in retail, too. To expose the female sales rep's behavior, they contacted the head of the company, who was black, and arranged for him to walk around the store as a customer. Not knowing who he was, the rep blatantly follows him around. It's been roughly twenty years, and I still remember vividly the moment, when she realized that she'd been busted. (9/16/2021)

i wish they'd make more kids shows like this, i remember being impressed even as a kid that they tackled issues like these. the body positivity one was always my favorite too, it really resonated with me because ive struggled with weight my whole life and i always got bullied for being the fat kid. i remember that episode helped me so much as a kid 😭 her screaming always annoyed my mom but im so glad she still let me watch it as a kid

What I just realized,; Chelsea was supposed to Have a cigarette in the Liz Anya episode. They either edited it out, or just great acting lol

The episode with the other psychics!!! That one I honestly feel showed ableism and I have yet to see another show that addresses it in the way this one did

This show is by far one of the best childhood shows of my generation. I was a die hard fan. I'm such a die hard fan that I noticed Raven Baxter's flaws. The only thing I didn't like about Raven was her letting bully's run over her. I understand it's a kid show so you tell kids to be the bigger person but I wish the writers talked about standing up for yourself too. It made Raven look scary at times. Like she used to let Alana chase her in the hallways and all of that. I understand it's comedy but come on now. Or when the white girl from zenon from season 1 humiliated her in front of everyone. I just couldn't stand it...

God this show was amazing! My favorite episode was the fashion show one where they acknowledged everyone has different body types and most people don’t look like models, even models and the episode where Raven didn’t get hired because she was black. I loved the part where Eddie told his story of when his friends dad said he couldn’t play with black kids. That really stuck with me. I wish kids shows and all shows still explored series issues like this show did. The true colors episode was before it’s time but not really ppl been racist but that getting fired along with a public apology sounds very 2021 ish 🤧😂

I was a bit uncomfortable with one thing in the body positivity episode and Mimi thought. When Raven first let the model wear her dress, Mimi's reaction was to be mad at her and even shame her a bit for not standing her ground (she was kinda even talking about betrayal if I remember correctly). But when you think about it, it was an adult telling that to a child (well teenager, but impressionable nonetheless). Of course Raven hesitated when someone who was in the business and had the power to decide what was on the runaway or not told her what to do, I would have too. I'm not saying that Mimi's cause was wrong, but she was a bit harsh on Raven when she was the one risking her place on the contest and also the main victim. What were YOU doing for the body positivity movement, Mimi? They could have handle the internalisation of bodyshaming better.

Anyone else have a crush on her back in the day? I remember in my teens her show was one of my favorites to watch.

I had a feeling true colors would be referenced. I used to watch that’s so raven when I was little and I remember my family and I were stunned they actually brought racism to light. This show was so brilliant for tackling many controversial topics.

I love Black people, they’re amazing! Their hairstyles never fail to amaze me. Especially their braids! They rock that hairstyle and a lot more!

I just started watching That´s so Raven as a 17 yrs old, (it premiered a year before I was born), and I love the aesthetic, it´s so early 2000s.

I grew up with thos show and that episode about body positivity saved my self esteem. As a young teen I was active and in very good shape. But the older I got, the more my body changed and I felt fat. Fat- at a perfectly healthy 120. It was people like Raven who showed me that as long as your healthy, your natural body should never have to be altered. Curves and all

I loved this show SO MUCH. I wish I had seen more of it as a young girl. It made me laugh so loud yet the messages usually were very warm-hearted.

The true colors episode was much more than an episode, black entertainment in some way has always put together these skits that hit close to our reality. I loved back in the days shows for this reason alone; fresh prince, family matters, sister sister, Moesha and The Parker's; all these shows talked on real basis that a lot of people just gloss over, and the fact that this was available to kids was amazing to me how real the situation was compared to the everyday foolery(Todays kids entertainment) black family values are literally disappearing from the screen, almost like we cant have a functioning family, and if we do get screen time my phenotype is either a thug, rapper or an adolescence.

This show was always iconic. I loved this show. So glad I got to see this live and grow up with this show on tv. ❤️

My favorite serious issue that the show tackled is body confidence... because everyone comes in thier own shapes and sizes... as I would call it size isn't everything... so that would include shapes... like how i see strong people.. but in my world you don't have to be buffed up to be strong... it's your spirit that makes you strong... and I also love peer pressure as well... just because you meet someone that is popular and you want to be like them doesn't mean they are good people... like what if you meet a person who are skateboarders and they smoke... then you stay away from them and find someone else who's popular that don't smoke... or what if someone dresses patriotically and just offends someone for thier nationality or sexuallity... then stay away from them too and find someone else who doesn't do stuff like this... and what if you meet a karate person who does shoplifting... then stay away from them and find someone else who doesn't do that... and my 3rd favorite is smoking... (you've heard me say smoking earlier) now my opinions about it is that cigarettes, cigars and pipes have one thing in common second hand smoke... those are dangerous and it can damage your lungs, blacken your heart, shut down your brain and melt it and destroy your liver... and that's why nobody should do it ever... so whatever you do never... I repeat never start smoking cigarettes cigars or pipes... and the last one of my favorite is racism... because I saw how black history month was made and I saw how everyone treated it... well I'd say everybody is different and by everybody's different I mean looks don't matter... it's what the inside that counts... one should not be measured by skin color alone... nor culture... nor gender... nor traditional outfits... nor culture or anything like that... everybody should be treated as equals... like I said looks don't matter... it's the inside that counts!!!! So a little advice if you see a person with a different look I would suggest you get to know them first to see thier inner beauty because you may never know what might interest you about them... anywho that's all I have for today!
