This couldn't be any more true, but to me if you've got an undeniable talent I believe you can manifest it into something a lot bigger in the future!, I pretty much do everything myself, produce, rap, mix & master all of my tracks aswell as create my own music videos, hard work pays off....even if it does take years.
Listened to your work. You have a long way to go on all fronts man. Production needs more spice, rapping needs to be tighter, mixing and mastering is mediocre. Your music is currently not very interesting. It doesn't stand out from the competition. Keep working hard and you might sound great in a few years dude.

great stuff. Lyric videos can be effective thou,some of them get millions of views. Probably cause people can sing along to them, which is not so much the case with normal videoclips.

i would say it's probably a good go to do lyric videos in addition to music videos for every single, and for any singles that dont have a music video it's definitely a good idea to put together a lyric video (that isnt just the default imovie font on a black background [speaking from experience])

It's hard to promote your music as a new artist, artists now have to act as a record label constantly promoting and trying to make contacts and getting exposure as well as writing, composing, mastering your music and trying not to spend any money you don't have. I've noticed some good music is out there and barely no one listens to it, while other mainstream stuff gets millions of plays and isn't much better. I've been doing remixes of music on Metapop they offer prizes for some of them and get people to remix their tracks for free. The thing is the lack of money for new artists is killing creativity, we all need money to live, yet as you said we now have to give away our music for next to nothing (free in the eyes of the consumers who use free services like RU-vid and Spotify who give the musicians next to nothing in return). I was working with a bass player in a band who the members of the band made $3 each for several thousands of plays on Spotify, they even have a fairly large fanbase aswell, they then went on a mini tour in Italy that cost them more money than they made, kinda makes you wonder if we didn't love making music even for 'free' only people with an income from something else could afford the luxury of being a musician.
