If I were to give 1 tip to beginners, it would be that don't spend stardust until you actually need it. I see a lot of newer players eager to max out their legendaries or shinies but they get a better one by the time they get enough candies to power up. My rule of thumb is wait until you have enough XL candies or you actually need to use it in raids now or pvp. This applies to other things like purifying and evolving. Consider why you want to do it now? If you're undecided, it's almost always smarter to hold it off because you can't reverse the process.
Not a beginner but always watch these type of videos from RU-vidrs I like and sometimes you do learn something and most of the time you don’t 😆 but still love to watch
Another good tip as a new trainer is to find a friend and try to trade as often as possible. I like to save high CP mons with any IV’s. That way when you trade them, you won’t have to use stardust to level them up if they turn out to have good IV’s or even lucky!
Your 121 tips and tricks video was the first one i watched when i downloaded the game this time last year. I learned so much and i remember watching it a few times as there is so much in the game.
one thing people say is never purify shadow pokemon but my Tip would be purify things that dont have good IVs and that can mega evolve such as Abra, bagon, abamasnow, weedle, etc and trade those till you get a lucky purified. a lucky purified pokemons candy and stardust costs are both reduced which makes powering them up cheaper. they also say never purify a shadow legendary, but eventually youll have a bunch of them and it might be worth purifying some and lucky trading them. I did a ton of shadow mewtwo raids and didnt get the shadow shiny so I traded with someone who got multiple shiny shadow mewtwos and I ended up getting a Shiny Purified Hundo Mewtwo on the first try. that is now ready for when its mega comes out. that was my first hundo mewtwo even though ive been raiding it every time it comes back since the EX raids
I'd dispute "new players should ignore CP..." sort of. Until you have candy/startdust to build that CP10 hundo, keeping some things with high CP means you can participate in raids/pvps sooner without spending anything -- and save up to raise that hundo.

Honestly imo - even with higher cp stuff wild caught you still won't be much help in raids - highest level you can have is a level 35 and odds you find something relevant at that level is pretty low - I always say just get carried in raids
Please catch EVERY single 12 candy mon and evolve it. Such any easy way to grind XP and grab platinum scientist. I don't care if you've caught a million pidgys, catch them all.
Given how easy it is to gain XP these days, I challenge the point of intentionally seeking out way to level up faster. XP often goes up far faster than Stardust and potentially Candy (very likely Candy XL - once you qualify for it). Higher trainer level is worthless (in fact for Shadow Battles can be detrimental) if Pokémon aren’t on an equal level.

coordinating gyms has been blessing. I knock people's mon on my daily route like 2-3 gyms a day out of 15 gyms, eventually its my mons in all 15 gyms and they knock mine out on same day -_- I started coordinating gym with my cousin and we get 50 almost every day
Regarding the top raid counters, I've always recommended new players, or players who don't want to spend a ton of money on the game, to know the budget raid counters as well. You can often times find budget raid counters that are *close* to as good as the top ones, but they aren't going to cost you a ton of raid passes and/or rare candies to power up. A lot of community day pokemon fall into this category. Salamence, Machamp/Conkeldurr, Mamoswine, Tyranitar, and Hydreigon, just to name a few. Those are all great options for raid counters that, while not at the top of their respective class, will do just fine in most raid lobbies. Also, don't sweat the IVs for pokemon you're using as raiders. It's very rare that they actually matter all that much.
Earning poke coins is hard, i beat a gym n suddenly there’s like 2 Pokémon spawn from the gym(different team) or when I’m batting 5 mins later Pokémon fully healed
I would say for the excellent throw tip: u should actually focus on hitting great throws first, specifically curveball great throws. Not only will a new player gain more xp in the long run, but the skill gained and the confidence boost from hitting an occasional excellent curve will make it more likely u start hitting more excellent throws.

Excellent tips! Wish I'd known all this stuff when I started in 2020. I hunted "shiny" Stunky for ages before finding out it wasn't released yet. lol. Another tip - use Tags! Keep your collection organized from the begining, before it becomes an absolute mess to sort out.

I was in my mid twenty leaver when i finally mastered the curvball throw. I watched so many videos but i just couldn't get it. In the end i just read snd followed the short text guide on the app when the game is loading. I am level 40 now and still struggle with excitement throws.
Summary of "Know your IVs"/ What I learned from poke genie: Pokemon that you want to be less than 2500cp/below master league - find and use pokemon that have a low attack stat but high defense and hp. Pokemon you want in the master league is better for having hundos because you want the most combat power. Attack stat increases the cp more than defense and hp. You want to cram the power into a pokemon for the lower leagues, but want more cp for pokemon in master league.
Is it just me or did catch/throw physics change this season? I feel like the circle needs to be smaller than it used to for an excellent, and the angles and distances feel different… anyone else noticing this since last week?
I usually play the main games, so I'm kinda bad in Pokemon Go. I love Lucario and I have 2 of them. The first has 12/15/15 IVs (3*) and the second has 15/10/9 IVs (2*). I want it just for Raids so which one should I power up? I don't really understand how dps and stuff works so if you guys can tell me which one will be better to use I will be thankful. Im a returning player and my question is im lvl 23 currently, at this lvl should I be evolving my 3 stars only, evovle everything or not be evovling and saving candies for later?
XP gains are overrated. There is no point levelling up if you cannot keep up with powering up Pokémon. But at the same time you don’t just want to power anything up, no what is meta and IV relevant.
Tip 9 is simply wrong. New players don't have a lot of stardust and so, prioritizing high CP pokemon is much better than high IV's. Suppose you're a level 25 trainer. What would you prefer? 500 CP 4* Gyarados OR 2500 CP 0* Gyarados The choice is obvious. Do not transfer those high IV pokemons but ALWAYS evolve higher CP ones so you can actually raid and defeat Team Rocket.
I want to disagree about "local trainers 85%", but honestly, using the freindship XP to zoom thru levels, will leave you with a weak account. The XP you get from catching is wayore valuable, because it comes with the vandies and the stardust gains, too. Dont race to speed level up, build out your account with solid teams on quality mons, before you get too hing up on levels. If you practice those excellent throws, XP will happen. Nasically, 1 extra excellent catch a day is equal to 1 best friend. Now, there are advantages to having aome friends around world, like Vivillian types, or hatching 7k eggs trade for your Pilot badge, etc. But intil you get into the mid level 40's, it shouldn't be a primary source of XP.

Thankfully where i live now, has a pokestop and the park literally like 2 houses down has 15 pokestops . Edit: believe it or not. I hit a grookery with 6 excellent throws and 4 berries and it still ran off lol.

I’m sick of doing remote raids, throwing nearly all excellent throws whilst using berries and it getting away and waving good bye to another raid pass, it’s bullshit!!! If you don’t get the Pokémon you should get the pass back…
LOL ! Add local friends ! You made me laugh I think I once made a battle with another trainer IRL, and I played in 2016-2018 and came back to the game beginning of this year. You players that live in big cities might encounter other local players but frankly this rule of 85% of local friends would mean that I have a single friend... No way. (And you forget to mention the Vivillon medal)
If I were to give 1 tip to beginners: You will probably need to "pay to win." This isn't 2016; the game has been fully monetized. If you want to get the best Pokemon with the best IV's, you will have to raid, and that costs money ("PokeCoins"). If you don't want to pay money ("free to play"), you will spend an enormous amount of extra time and effort. So you're better off not playing the game and just watching the pro's do it on RU-vid.
