It is only slightly better because it is strategic. Yu-Gi-Oh! may still sell a lot but it has fallen from grace. In my area and others surrounding my area Pokemon and MTG are at their highest and Yu-Gi-Oh! has almost died here. I am not saying Vampire is a better card game than Yu-Gi-Oh! but it has left others with how a multiplayer card game should be done. Personally speaking The Lord of the Rings LCG and A Game of Thrones LCG should have been mentioned. Netrunner should have been higher it is gaining popularity and the competitive scene is actually fun. Pokemon and MTG are still the best for me especially since I played them competitively. MTG will keep being the king though. I suggest you try out Netrunner.

objectively best is probably the ruleset and meta i actually thought taking up magic card collecting, but have no fucking idea where to start.. since i didnt have any of that as a child in my soviet occupied country... i only can get now newschool booster packs right? can i even do a playable deckc with it?´second who the fuck im going to play? i dont know anyone who plays tcg cards , feels redudant.. grown ups just addicted to them, cant let go lol.. i probably will just keep playing a tcg videogame format i've recently picked up and enjoy -- game named Eternal : p I had shit tons upperdeck basketball cards, when i realized goldscripts absolutely worthless like a decade later.. i burned them all, as a child i thought goldscripts,prosign cards and limited cards to 100 copies will be expensive in the future, i guess not.. or there's idiots selling cards on ebay not knowing the worth of cards.. :- ) how can michael jordan goldscript limited edition of 100 copies worldwide be only worth like max 100 bucks lol...

Well the value of something is set by offer and demand. If no one else wants this card, it won't be worth anything. In a tcg this is mostly about the question if this card is playable or not.

It's not just about popularity, it's also about game design, and many other factors. Like how the vampire game is unique in its structure, and you have to agree, yugioh has LOTS of flaws in its balance and mechanics. Just because coca-cola sells more soda than pepsico does, that doesn't make it better.

"Yugioh has been praised for its ease of play." Yeah, in 2000. Nowadays, most of its casual players, much less non-players, couldn't even begin to explain why you can't use Black Horn of Heaven to counter Monster Reborn, or why you can't activate the effect of a Naturia Cliff that's been destroyed by a Soul Taker, just to name a couple examples from its encyclopedia's worth of overly-precise, non-intuitive technical bullshit.

Yeah. It's probably the most complex when it comes to the meta and technical rulings that can confuse even the judges at times. And the amount of card text on the average card now is a lot. I would say MTG is actually one to offer ease of play to.

plz, Chaotic TCG is easier to play you have 6 creatues max on the field and you move them to fight 1 v 1 you can have any number of Mugic cards(musical magic) you can give your creatures battlegears for buffs, you have 2 atk cards in your hand (draw 1 each turn) (dmg is base around, the atk card's elements and your stats(courage,Strength,speed,wisdom for extra dmg via atk card challenge check) flip a new location card each turn depending on his Moving phase it is wipe out your opponenet's team to win

In my opinion and I think a lot of people will agree with me 4 should have been cardfight vanguard because of its popularity. 3 should have have been pokemon TCG because its not that popular anymore and the only thing keeping pokemon alive is the games and show. 2 should have been yugioh because it is still doing amazing despite how old it is and how they are still making new cards as well as providing for there fans 1 and number one should stay as magic the gathering because of obvious reasons And before anyone says this list is probs biased about the rankings my favourite is yugioh and if I could I would put it as number 1 but I have respect for other TCG's and will not let my biased opinions get in the way

I'm sad that the Dragon Ball Z CCG from the early-mid 2000's didn't get an honorable mention. Such an underrated card game that had so much depth and great gameplay with some awesome mechanics.

Beat Wheels Yu-Gi-Oh's player base has been declining constantly since around 2010. Go look up statistics. Sales are down, tournament attendence is down. Meanwhile MTG, which has always had a larger player base, has around 8 thousand people attending the next GP. That's far more than the amount of people who were part of any Yu-Gi-Oh tournament in the past decade.

I was expecting higher ranks for Yu-Gi-Oh and Carrdfight Vanguard, CFV because not only do I like it the most but because it gave a fresh yet highly addicting gameplay. Also the fact that you can play it in whatever way you like with a Clan sans the Clan restriction requirement. YGO for being a very diverse one, offering different possibilities to your style of choice. Overall though I was expecting TCGs well known all over the globe from 1st world to 3rd world countries.

Ive watched the first season of buddyfight and is tied with cardfight in my top fav cardgame anime that actually pretains to the card game itself, and i honestly am suprised it isnt even on thenlist at all... also half the list is cardgames i never heard of... im yugioh player and have tangled with pokemon and cardfight, played a little magic and know how to play many other games.

+The Burning Cloud It has a cult following. It's out of print since to 2011 so you won't see it in stores, but it has a very active aftermarket. In my humble opinion very much deserves it's place at 3rd. (if not higher...). It's an excellent and well balanced game for 3-6 players that incorporates combat, intrigue and politics.

When Yugioh players start to be bank managers or huge companies owners then maybe Yugioh will be higher than Vampire. Simple thing Vampire players that started playing the game as teenagers play this game even now even when it`s not printed anymore, and in the golden age of game they were investing piles of money into it, not some 2 boosters thing and go home thing but things like buying 6-10 booster boxes a month.

Chaotic should be higher. At least in the top 5. Bump the vampire game further down the list, have Chaotic at 4 or 5, and YuGiOh at 3. It's really original, and having an actually impactful faction system changes up things a surprising amount. Going up against an underworld deck is way different than say a Mepedian deck
