Ok, every single year, Vancouver has had a goalie who's had a good season. 10 years, Vancouver has had a good starter and backup. The best goalies they've had: Richard Brodeur 80-81 to 86-87 (7 seasons) -- Kirk McLean 87-88 to 96-97 (10 seasons) -- Roberto Luongo 06-07 to present (6+ seasons). Luongo is the best goalie the Canucks have ever had. Even Gillis said, he made the best player captain. Luongo still a dominant goalie here in Vancouver, considering he was just nominated for the Vezina a year ago, considering he just led an injured Vancouver team to the Cup and considering he just had his 7th straight 30W season. that is true.. he just can't handle the pressure and cracks easily when he's under the microscope and his backs against the wall. yeah i'm a Hawks fan and hate his guts, but i will give him probs for making it hell for us in 2011, after game 3, he was showing signs of struggle and weakness and almost succumbed to the pressure until Alex Burrows got lucky on a dumb play by Campoli that cost us the series and Crawford matched him and was a win away from out playing him completely.
theres a reason why Jonathan Quick won the Conn Smythe award.. he was the reason why the Kings brought home there first Stanley Cup in franchise history. He was spectacular and phenominal and never showed any signs of struggle or pressure. the kid literally stole games and would shut out opponents like it was nothing. Lu cracks easily and loses his compsure a lot when he's playing a good game. Quick is wayyyy better of a tendy than Robby Lu.

The Canucks scored 8 goals in the 7 game finals versus Boston. In order for Luongo to shoulder ANY blame for that loss then you`d be of the belief anything above a 1.00 GAA is too high.
Really. Because even with a crappy team like Florida, Luongo had 1 of the best seasons for a goaltender in NHL history. He has 2 of the top 5 also. Luo helped lead an injured team to game 7 of the Finals. He helped lead his country to gold. And out of 20 games, Quick was the better goalie in 10. 2/5 times against VAN, 4/4 times against STL, 0/5 times against PHX and 4/6 times against NJ. He also had 2 terrible games in the Finals (4 and 5)

He played great? Quick was greater. And the year before that, Thomas was greater. And the year before that... you get the picture. He stopped 35 of 38 shots. 2 goals were on the PP and 1 was on an empty net. Game 2 was just another repeat performance with a great game. How do you know anything about Luongo's leadership. I'm pretty sure you weren't in the locker room even once to know what was said and what wasn't. They had 3 amazing goalies in the Olympics? Yeah. Shared the load? No. Luongo played 5 games and took over the starting jobs when it was a rotation between him and Brodeur. Marty played 2 games and Fleury played 0. So no load was shared, it was just Luongo who played

Nope. When you say one goalie who makes it to the finals and "choked", you pretty much say every goalie who's done that has "choked." Fact is, nobody "chokes." There's 1 winner, 1 loser, and 28 others who couldn't make it

I watched him throw a 2-0 lead away in the Gold Medal game, and have Sidney Crosby win it. Canada won the gold medal IN SPITE of Luongo, not BECAUSE of him. Regular season records? Big deal. Fact is, when the chips are down, you simply can NOT count on Luongo coming through for you.
LA didn't barely make it into the playoffs. Maybe if you paid attention, you'd know that LA went on fire once they picked up Carter. Who was Quick underrated by, you? He's already been known to be a top 10 goalie the past 3 years. And Quick his a ring? Luongo has gold at the Olympics, 2G and 1S at the WC, 1S at the WJHC and 1B at the U-17 championships. I remember this one time, I was in a lacrosse tournament, and during the one game the other teams goalie started to piss himself mid game, and it got all over the floor, so you see the coach walking him off the floor with a paper towel under the goalie trying to catch the leaking piss! It was seriously like the funniest thing
Schnieder is a better goalie than Lu to be honest with you. the kid plays harder and shows more composure and doesnt throw fits when he's playing a bad game.
