Gani Ibraimi Keanu Reeves can't act his way out of a paper bag and is #6 while Reynolds isn't even on the list! Reynolds showed elite comedic chops in Van Wilder and Just Friends and elite dramatic chops in Finders Fee and Buried.

***** I don't know whether the list is about Canadian who are iconic actors or greater actors. Watchmojo tends not to define clearly the criteria of lists most of the time.
"...but these actors from the Great White North have proven that they can hang with the best that Hollywood has to offer." Yeah, actually, in many cases, Hollywood is trying to keep up with the high quality of these, and many other, Canadian actors. But thanks for the patronizing sentiment that we're used to from the American media.
***** I like Seth Rogen, he's one of my favourite (in comedies), but this list about the top 10 Canadian actors. But Plummer is another level. He was a lead in The Sound of Music, received two academy award nominations in the past 7 years, and won his Oscar when he was 83 years old. By the way, Leslie Nielsen should be heigher on the list than Rogen.
Máté Vajda What if...Honorable mentions arent just people being mentioned for the heck of it. What if they are honorable mentions for first place? Kind of how Ive always seen it, otherwise, why not just open with the honorable mentions? Ive always felt the honorable mentions were always above second place.
as a Canadian I feel like Leslie Nielsen deserved a spot on the list as opposed to an honourable mention. He was one of the first Canadians to make it big in Hollywood. As far back as the 1950s he was in movies like The Forbidden Planet. I agree with the rest of the list though.
The list so I can save you the time: 10. Seth Rogen 9. William Shatner 8. Mike Myers 7. John Candy (RIP) 6. Keanu Reeves 5. Kiefer Sutherland 4. Ryan Gosling 3. Michael J. Fox 2. Donald Sutherland HMs: Leslie Nielsen (RIP) Nathan Fillion Christopher Plummer (should be number 1, yet below Seth Rogen?) Martin Short Michael Cera Dan Aykroyd 1. Jim Carrey
My list. 1. Jim Carrey 2. Ryan Reynolds 3. Michael Cera 4. Seth Rogen 5. Rachael McAdams 6. Mike Myers 7. Ryan Gosling 8. Michael J Fox 9. Cory Monteith 10. Eugene Levy (It’s not in order from best to least best, I like them all equally.)
Slight correction. Ryan Gosling didn’t get his start exclusively on Canadian TV, because he was one of the many future stars to come out of Disney’s The New Mickey Mouse Club
Great Canadians Actors! It's all aboot their cultural style. 10. My Canadian Jewish Stoner. 9. Shatner is a awkward funny expression Shakespearian actor I've ever seen. 8. He's my favorite Canadian Comedian. Ya Baby Ya! 😅 7. Oh I miss John Candy! He's like a kind Canadian comedian with funny lines and nice performance in 80's and 90's. 6. Woah! Hell yeah! Keanu is an action pack Canadian coolest. Bogus! Also don't John Wick who becomes like cool bad ass whi wants revenge by killing a poor puppy. Such bastards. 😥 5. Sutherland is great. 4. He's the coolest handsome actor ever and of course every women wants to get fucked with him. Man, I wanted to be like him. 3. Poor Michael J. Fox. He suffered for all his diseases. God bless him. 2. A Canadian Snow. 1. Yup, he's the most funniest Canadian comedian that brings his funny expression with awkward laugh, corky characters, and hilarious comedic stunts. Carrey is the bomb of funniest.
Jim Carrey is my favorite canadian actor ! :) He is my favorite comedian/actor since childhood :) . I wished they added Michael Wincott on the list , because he is a talented actor too and he always plays menacing villains like in The Crow when he played Top Dollar .
And where, may I ask, are the Ashmore twins, Yannick Bisson, David Hewlett, Ryan Reynolds, Jay Barushel, Eugine Levy, Hayden Christianson, Cory Montieth, or Howie Mandel?
Donald's other son Rossif is a very good actor as well. Plus, he speaks fluent French and acts in both English and French speaking productions. I have seen him in a few shows produced in Québec.
Christopher Plumber should be 1# on the list. The other have never won academy awards. Mary Pickford should be #2 the most famous actress for 20 yrs and one the founders of United Artists...
I usually always love the top 5 picks, of any of these videos. Even when I think the order of the people might be wrong, the people chosen are right to be up there. Like Jim Carey, Ryan Gosling, and Michael J Fox. Love them all.
A "very important" Canadian actor? Oh, you do make me laugh...I live and breathe movies, and I've seen only ONE of his films (and that was by accident, and I can't remember what the hell he did in the film). It's not as if Ryan Reynolds is Al Fucking Pacino, a guy you can't help but run into all the time, because he's been in so many great fucking movies...let's face it, you take away "Deadpool", "The Green Lantern", "X-Men Origins", and what's left? "Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place" (the TV show)? Cripes. Those are his best known movies, and it reads like the line-up of a movie retrospective at Comic-Con or some shit. And to be brutally honest, I don't think any of those films are going to be stored under the National Registry for "historically significant films". Ryan Reynolds can disappear, for all I care.
MisterObjectivity that's actually not true I knew Ryan Reynolds before I even followed comic book movies. The change up was decently popular same with van wilder and the croods he was even in Harold and Kumar go to White Castle
Buried, the Proposal, Hitman's bodyguard, RIPD, the change up, defiantly, maybe, Turbo, thecroods, those are pretty well known. That is just off the top of my head.
@@MisterObjectivity what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response was there anything that could even be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul!
Is there a separate list for actresses? Because if not, you've missed the biggest Canadian movie star of all time - Mary Pickford. In her day she was the most bankable star in the world, with a popularity second only to Chaplin.
LONDON, ON, Y'ALL! Gossling lived down the street from my best friend at one time. Pretty sure his parents and hers still live there. So glad at least one Londoner made the cut lol
I figured Jim Carrey or Christopher Plummer would be number 1. I personally would've put Plummer at number 1, but I love Carrey too. Who doesn't? His movies are part of my childhood after all--The Mask, Batman Forever, Ace Ventura and Liar Liar. My only misgivings is that you included Michael Cera in the Honorable Mentions section instead of Stephen Amell. No Ryan Reynolds?? He should've been in Ryan Gosling's place.
Others mentioned the fact that Rick Moranis was omitted, so I will skip that. But I cannot believe that Lorne Greene was totally ignored. He should have been #1.
I wasn't aware that there even was a Canada Day. They have also already done a list for the UK, and could potentially do other countries on other holidays such as Saint Patrick's day or Independence day or something.
No Mary Pickford? Not even an honourable mention? She was a huge star during the silent era, co-founder of United Artists with Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks, and one of the 36 original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
+Susiruhtinas Leslie Nielsen should have been number one or at least on the bloody list, no one pays attention to honourable mentions, he's an amazing actor; I can't forgive Jim Carrey for Dumber and Dumber. Love Michael J Fox and Ryan Gosling; I don't really watch the Sutherlands but they look talented enough.
Hey Mojo interesting info fact for you: At 6.04 with Keifer Sutherland is also a Canadian actor Currie Graham. He hails from a small town in Ontario Prescott. He is has been in a bunch of shows as a character actor.
I know that this is an old video but I've gotta say that there are so many MORE fantastic Canadian actors/actresses out there! Take Harold Ramis for example! He was also a great director!
John Candy should absolutely be higher. He filmed his role in Home Alone only in one attempt, and most of it was filmed early in the morning. And Leslie Nielsen should be more than just an honorable mention. Man, even when I hear about him I start to laugh :)
my favorite is Jim Carrey because I grew up watching his movies at a very young age. and found to the funniest actor since. although the last 2 years his movies were so. but he's great in them still.
