Thank you, Skye! It's nice to finally see a Top 10 that isn't the same 10-15 titles featured in a hundred other videos. Ostriv, Depraved, Surviving Mars, Frost Punk, Atomic Society... I haven't seen any of those before your video. So again, THANK YOU! You're the RU-vidr I go to for city building/survival games.
it really depends on where you live. why you see lots of game development start to move to eastern europ where living cost are low as game development aint really locked geografically

Johan Thunberg well I'm sure there's more like updates to buildings and obviously monuments but yeah the bridges are actually pretty cool and regardless I want him to do a series bc I like tropico
Frostpunk and Ostriv, I'll keep an eye on those for sure... and Surviving Mars, it's Paradox so I have high hopes at least. Damn you for trying to hurt my wallet like this!
the biggest hope i have for Ancient Cities is that you can evolve into more recent era's, after guiding your civilisation through the ancient ages etc. I think its got an incredible idea and has lots of potential!
Ancient cities is what I have been looking for, it's looking extremely historically accurate which is the developers idea so if it is historically accurate it will be the first game that will be a history class that's actually fun
I'd forgotten all about Aven, so thanks. Didn't realise it was so close to release. Frostpunk looks fantastic, and that trailer for Universim is not something I'd seen. I'd seen gameplay but hadn't realised the extent of the scope. Thanks for this list.

As much as I want it to succeed I don't think Ancient cities will hit its mark, It just sounds like there trying to fit SO much into it, But I am willing to be pleasantly surprised. Universim however...That looks really interesting. There was another...But I can't recall the name, its more of a Minecraft city builder, where your actions affect the environment etc and you have to work together to avert disaster etc.
You mean ECO ?? About Universim, it is in development over a year and they almost havnt done anything yet. They have only the stone age. Right now it is worth playing 1 hour.... I think Universim is a great concept, but I think it will fail cause it is so slow development :C so sad... P.S. srry about my english
out of those, Ostriv looks most interesting. But really I just want them to release a version of Cities Skylines with larger maps - like 'Countries Skylines' or something - that would make me happy. Tropico games are always worth a look too

Great List Skye ive been following Ostriv for a while (and can't wait) and i backed Ancient CIties on Kickstarter and really can't wait for that one. I hadn't seen anything on Depraved though and it looks amazing. Thank God there not all coming out @ the same time. We will have ostriv and deparaved for starters and then ancient cities as a full course bring it on!!
Skye, Thanks for your list. Besides the Ancient Cities (witch is incredibly beautiful), Ostriv looks so promising; people creating route paths by using them... amazing!
ive gotta say, so many games (per genre) we get now are basically the same core game with different skins and just a few key features that other games dont have. honestly, i would say alot of these follow that rule
Thumbs up for not being just a collection of game trailers and actually adding content. Frostpunk looks way too depressing for me. Aven Colony while pretty looking, looks like it's a little too "Busy" for my tastes. When I am building cities, I like building cities and not having to defend it every 10 minutes. I don't mind some survival elements but having to suffer repeated attacks just turns me off. Atomic Society: I don't know enough about this game to enter a opinion. I'll have to wait and see. Rise of Industry: Eh, the art style does nothing for me. Depraved: Another one I'll have to wait and see. The Universim: I actually have already played this in it's alpha stage. Unfortunately, Windows crashed on me and I lost the game and had almost forgotten about it. I should re-download it and see what's been going on with it. I haven't heard much from them. When I did play it, it looked interesting but It was lacking a lot of stuff to hold my attention. You're not alone with Ostriv. I just like the whole Netherlands look to the game. :) Surviving Mars: Hey, it's Paradox! Of course it's going to be good. The bad thing is that Paradox tends to make really difficult and obscure games that are not very accessible to the average player. Tropico 6: Eh, I've played at least 3 of these and they all tend to be the same with prettier graphics. I'm not sure if building bridges and stealing famous landmarks is enough to keep my attention but, we'll see. I'll probably wait for a Steam sale for this one. Ancient Cities: This one is the one I'm most interested in. Unfortunately, it is most likely that my computer will not be able to run it. (I still run a Phenom II)
Ostriv looks cool; it's probably going to be the only one I can/will play unless Tropico 6 and Depraved come on mac with Ostriv. I really hope Depraved works well because I've been wanting a Western town builder for awhile now.
I expect the universim to come out in 2019 or 2021 with the speed of development. Still can't wait until it hits early access to try it out. Been following it since it was on greenlight.
Sick "Surviving Mars" is coming. That's the Mars Version of Cities Skylines. I saw on RU-vid it's got it's own build team & I think will be started after CS comes to PS4 now that the XB1 version is just as big of a hit as the PC version.
Nice list, Skye. Rise of Industry, formerly known as Project Automata, could be nice. Ancient Cities seems interesting. The game that I'm really interested in is Ostriv. I can't wait to get my hands on that one, and I really hope you'll play it for us. And, Skye, would you be interested in playing Life is Feudal Forest Village? I'd like to watch you play it.
Depraved seem great , but I cant find anything on it. It would be nice when you get to play all these games and we get to see your starting village. I have a few of those games already, Atomic Society, Universim, Ancient Cities Aven Colony are all in my wish list bag when they are out of early access and playable.
