@@BeeEmpress BoM is pretty damn strong all things considered. Most boss monsters do not have targeting protection in DL and many decks rely on their boss monster so being able to flip them down can be almost game winning. And that's going second. Going first makes it incredible disruption to stop Synchros/XYZ or cards like Harpies Channeler which don't activate their effects on summon.
@@WolfMax1223 are you new to ygo? FLOODGATED: IT PERMANENTLY STUCK RIGHT THERE YOU CANT FLIP IT FACE UP BoM you can flip it face up again like canadia but SHS NEED IN FACE UP DEFENSE POSITION Flip from face donwn to up in attack position, you need to WAIT another turn to CHANGE it to FACE UP DEFENSE POSITION
I've also seen people use Archfiend Eccentrick in Superheavy Samurai decks, so that they get easy spot removal without putting a spell/trap in the graveyard.
As someone who is just getting into Yugioh, and the TCG being as complex and daunting as it is, I really appreciate Duel Links videos bc that's what I'm able to play and keep up with
Play EDOPro if you wanna do normal beatdown in casual duel Duel link is not the best place to do it Cause the casual duel in duel link is just full of bot
I've been playing Duel Links for almost a year now, and I swear this is the first time I've gotten a good look at the actual monster in Abyss Dweller's artwork
I would like to see “Top 10 Cards in Duel Links that Aren’t Opened in Packs” I.E: Cards exclusive to level up rewards, card trader, or character duel rewards
actually, a very important interaction that makes MST good is destroying TTH... I would say that, since TTH is basically the strongest card we have, people prefer MST because it inactivates both copies in the deck, instead of only one as in Cosmic Cyclone ... that and (of course) the absence of a restriction in use of MST
I like your videos and listen to them in the background whiledoing other things so it is nice to listen to. I have an idea for a top ten list, Top ten none generic extra deck cards that would be banned if they were generic.
Goyo guardian would fit that, if you figure in that before it's errata it was a limited/banned card before it got the "one earth attribute" monster synchro material requirement
Even though like you said in this video that Duel Links stuff doesn’t do as well as the TCG stuff it’s always good to see your Duel Links content when it pops up 👍🏻
Man, your voice so calming like, no joke your voices can actually out me to sleep and i don't mean it in a bad way like saying it's boring. It's both entertaining and calming at the same time. I haven't played Yu-Gi-Oh in years but your videos are very interesting and fun, keep it up.
Since you are now making more Duel Links videos may I suggest you do one about the most used/powerful decks in the history of the game on different times of the meta.
@@imsrchris2052 True that based off the description of the video, Archfiend Eccentrick can slide in a lot of decks and could be considered a staple. However it is just hard to justify a card as a staple for most decks if most players at this time do not have access to the staple card. It was only available to obtain for a 2-3 week period a few months ago from a selection mini-box that only 1/4 of the box could be purchased with gems.
Drowning mirror force is definitely a staple in the current meta game. Necrovalley is a must side deck in any tournament (mainly 4 thunder dragons) and sky iris is climbing the popularity rankings in duel links in this format.
While Drowning is indeed good, it's still a slow trap card. Moreover it can only be use in Battle Phase AND only if your opponent attacked directly. Chances are, it wont even make it to the Battle Phase. That's why it only saw an occasional play
Calling dd crow one of the best staples in the tcg is a big stretch. The card is suuuper format dependant, and the formats in which it’s good arent very many. Modern tcg has a lot more high impact handtraps than crow
I’ll never forget how I checked out your stream after dueling you on ladder, and 5 or 6 people in a row were saying I was trash and unskilled because I used 3 BOM before it was F2P and now everybody has it.
I was expecting to see "Super Team Buddy Force Unite" when you were talking about s/t floating effects, is a trap that is commonly used, specially in magnet decks and some tellarknight decks, if they MST it you can just activate it and get aonther one free
it isnt even a staple, bud. its not "specially" on those decks. its "only" on those decks that card was used. So it cant be a staple if in a majority of decks it wont work
I don't know if you consider where those cards come from because, even if Eccentric and Breakthrough Skill are considered staples, they both are exclusive from Selection Boxes, making them not obtainable outside of the Selection Boxes season. Also, an idea for a future video: Top 10 Cards that gain an effect or have a second effect when banished, just like Breakthrough Skill. It can be either for Duel Links or the TCG, which I'm pretty sure there are more powerful cards with that kind of mechanic. And no, the Paleozoic archetype doesn't count for this.
Them being staples exclusive to Selection Boxes doesn't make them not staples; in fact, the fact that they're staples in a Selection Box is _why_ that's a problem. It's just evidence that Konami is working their dark magic.
Also, regarding Treacherous Trap Hole condition, MST is better counter for Treacherous Trap Hole! Sometimes I clog my opponent's Trecherous Trap Hole after destroying another trap card they controlled, completely different case with Cosmic Cyclone where you banish the trap instead
How many players have tried to floodgate my GB Bestiari (during their end phase) thinking it would avoid backrow destruction. Only for me to immediately contact that face down into Gyzarus, completely ignoring the floodgate lock, during my turn. It honestly surprises me.
top 10 number monsters(exluding chaos or supreme) or 10 cards that are the reason certain arcitipts are broken example:soul eating oviraptor is what allows dinos to seach and sent cards
Top 10 cards you can get from exchange card tickets. I just got back into Yu-Gi-Oh after not paying any attention to in since the Synchro era, and I have a ton of tickets that I'm not sure what to use on
I’ve loved using Brionac and Barkion for the Gouki deck+Psychic wheeler combo. Where if there’s a bunch of backrow, Barkion will take care of it. Or if there’s a big boss that needs removal, Brionac does the job since Gouki’s field->grave search effect guarantees ammunition for it, and have Brionac+Suprex’s combined attack equal 4k
How about an eventual video about free to play staples? i.e. staple cards that can be gotten from the card trader / dueling AI duelists / events / non-dream tickets? Stuff like enemy controller or kiteroid
As an MTG player I think a series where you look at cards from other games and try to figure out if / why they're good or bad would be really cool. I don't even play YGO but I love these videos because DL explains the game really well and with my knowledge of card games from MTG I can pretty much understand most of what he's talking about. Similarly I think DL would be able to use his card game knowledge from YGO to figure out other games.
It's funny how I liked Sphere Kuriboh because I found it cute when I first downloaded the game a while back, and it's actually on of the best hand traps in the game
Idea; top 10 cards that just barely didn't make the cut for your videos? I feel like some cards might have been just a little less (or more) powerful than the number 10 spots for being in a video. It's be nice to see which cards failed to show up and for which/how many.
I could be wrong but i think the main purpose of cosmic cyclone being on the limit 3 list is so it cant be used with battling boxer veil to lower life points and get a beneficial effect to trigger skills especially destiny draw
I started playing DL last month in no small part due to these videos. I'm playing blue eyes and got to Plat a couple days ago. Ran into my fist Abyss Dweller and can definitely say I lost the game to that card for the exact reasons you outlined here lol
Cosmic Cyclone's banish isn't only good for the rare floating spell/trap card, it's also good for bypassing spell/trap protection, since the majority of those just prevent cards from being destroyed.
So, you normal the Deep Sea Diva, activate its effect to special from deck Atlantean Heavy Infantry, granting you an additional normal summon, this time Megalosmasher X, and then overlay Deep Sea Diva with Atlantean Heavy Infantry (both now level 4 thanks to the skill) to xyz summon the Abyss Dweller. And the xyz material you detach is Atlantean Heavy Infantry. And next turn you could still synchro the Brionac with another Deep Sea Diva... yeah, Shark is that good in duel links.
We don't really have links yet in Duel Links. Even then, the newest Ghostrick link basically only supports Ghostricks. And the fusions that are out there that are useful, that I've seen, would be Lunalights, Blue Eyes, and I think that's it.
I know of that link monster but I refuse to mention it as the lone exception lol (since its literally part of its effect that allows it to function that way and not a base mechanic)
@@thejamesonthestreet I haven't really kept up with the meta since I stopped playing for about 2 years. But I'll reread their effects since I assumed they were a pretty bad deck from the TGC
How about a top 10 about decks that exists only because a skill? Like water XYZ, the desperado deck with master of destiny or how noble knight was the top of the meta with balance
When he talks about Paleozoic Canadia in the Floodgate trap section, the text says ‘Canadian’. Like, its a pre-historic Canadian with its maple syrup harvested from a giant ‘shroom and free healthcare being ‘stick finger in mouth, hurt less.’ Just something funny
Top 10 Polymerization alternatives. Top 10 generic pendulum cards. Top 10 "trap" cards. (Cards that seem good at first glance but aren't really that good. Top 10 cards that reference the anime/manga. Top 10 parody cards. Top 10 cards based on other Konami games. Top 10 special conditions in the games. Top 10 anime/manga exclusive cards. Top 10 cards that newcomers shouldn't use. More Rescue Rabbit, please.
I've just noticed that Abyss Dweller might be the evolution of The Dragon Dwelling in the Deep: similar name, both Sea serpents, same ATK and DEF and they look similar.... No? Just me? Or everyone already did notice?
can i suggest an idea for a video? top 10 cards that have been changed in duel links, yknow like how magical cylinder does half damage and stuff like that? the DL versions
I didn't realise Utopia Ray was played much in DL. Huh. How about "Top 10 currently restricted Archetypes/Deck types that would be (the most) broken if fully unlimited"? Could be a fun topic for both TCG and Duel Links.
In DL definitely Darklords. Now that the state of the game revolves around Monster Effect. I mean it was so strong to the point Konami had to cripple them.
I heard Darklords but since i didnt play by that time id say Shiras and Cyber dragons with their unnerfed skill. No amount of traps in Dl could stop them.
Duel link releasing cards that was not their era IE: Neos fusion was released in 2019 in tcg and it suddenly came out it duel link Another example: harpies
With each video, my niche knowledge of a card game I don’t play grows even stronger. Soon, I will become unstoppable, and not even the power of friendship will be able to slow my Destiny Draws!
Because of Necrovalley's usefulness, I've tried running a Gravekeeper's deck (w/ Quintet Magician & 3x GK Supernaturalists in the Extra Deck). Not quite enough to get to to King of Games rank (Legend ranks were the best I can manage using this deck alone). Unfortunate, because the Gravekeeper's deck has always been a sentimental favorite of mine.
I havent played Duel Links in a long time, but I remember figuring out a thinge with Spikeshield with Chain that was really really effective when opponents where basically beatsticking things, and I actually rose through the ranks decently for a bit with it (but I got kinda bored in the end + when getting to the higher tiers people used broken combos all over XD), but Im imagining this is not the case anymore?
I do not know if you already done it, but what about a top 10 of really good cards with competitive history on the TCG that are not competitive in Duel Links? You said in the video that pretty much all the good cards of the TCG that are available on duel links, are good on duel links, so the video is going to be about the exceptions to that.
Yo I'm just curious, do you actually play Duel Links? or do you just keep up with the meta? Over the last few years I've completely given up on the TCG and went full force on Duel Links and haven't looked back.
top 10 meta cards in duel links that never see play in tcg/ocg (not sure if you made this already) top 10 cards that only exist in duel links (I think there is at least 10 of those)
I sometimes wonder if the Duel Links that Duel Logs plays is the same as the one I play. Cause he keeps talking about decks that I've never even heard of; like whatever dinosaur deck or the territory of the sharks deck.
The Alba strike SD has releaseed in OCG So I have an Idea , ' top 10 monster that has the effect to fusion summon another monster' and ' top 10 polymerization support '
Top ten Heal burn cards like your running a Bad reaction to Smochi (might have spelled that wrong) or Dark lord nurse Reficul in that upstart Goblin would let you deal burn damage while drawing a card right?
Too bad I only have 1 copy of MST. Currently, not enough gem to get it. But as alternative, I put 2 Night Beam because TTH can't respond. If you wondering why I have 2 Night Beam despite it's also UR main box is because I build old CyDra deck and that card is in that box as well also the 2nd I got from selection box.
You do realize that the deck is solely being played because of a broken skill right ? No not because clock tower prison is good or dreadmaster being a reliable boss monster
