Appreciate it man! This was very helpful. Heading out to Oregon in 2 weeks and I had a few of these waterfalls on my radar already but you just gave me more options and honestly I can't decide. We'd love to do them all but we only have 4 days. We'll see which ones get left out.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words :) haha, well there are like 250 waterfalls in Oregon, so definitely tough to narrow it down. These are truly my top 10, but in Silverton has a great hike to hit like 10 waterfalls in 7 miles. I have a video of my favorite hikes near Portland as well. Have a blast!
I watched this video back when you released it, but I’m finally commenting - it was fun to meet you at Koosah Falls this last October! As a couple of Arizonans, my wife and I were blown away by the 10+ waterfalls we visited during our Bend trip. Thanks for telling me about your channel that morning in October - I’ve really enjoyed your content! Absolutely top tier stuff. Keep it up!
Ayyyyy, thankyou so much, that is awesome! It was nice to meet you as well - glad you experienced so much while you were out here, good work! And thanks for the encouragement, I'll continue attempting to make fun travel content, thanks for following, I really appreciate it.
I am really surprised that there were not more restrictions or safety Rails on the steep drop off sides of the many trails that you walked on. If you fell you would be killed or badly injured . Thank you for showing we viewers the many scenic and impressive waterfalls that are in Oregon.
Great list! I knew of/guessed most of those on your list, besides a few that I didn't know about or didn't realize were that great (like Marion Falls, I knew of it but didn't realize it was so special.)
Thank you for being so helpful. Wow even mapped them out. Super cool especially because we traveled so far. Unfortunatley one thing i should have researched myself was no dogs on many of these trails. We took paved trails or off shoots but will definitely have to come back again in the spring and summer
Wow, i really enjoyed watching those beautiful waterfalls. I like the way u film them. Thanks for the tips. Now I have some new waterfalls for us to hike to that I didn't know about. I appreciate all your info.
Glad you liked the video, I really appreciate the comment.... I have no idea what i'm doing so that honestly is really encouraging. I have another video coming soon of the top 8 Waterfall hikes near Portland if that is interesting to you! Thanks again
It's a good question: Silver falls is in my top waterfall Hikes video... I didn't want to double dip. Also, my opinion is that none the waterfalls on the silverfalls loop trumps any of these falls. Like, they are cool... but none of them have that extra 'wow' factor to me. That's just me... maybe south falls? That's why I left it out. ;)
Hey there, so my website is linked in the description, if you go to it - I only have 3 blog posts... one of them is a waterfall blog post and in that post has a link to the custom map of this list. Thanks for watching! I have a ton of Oregon Coast videos if you want to check out ;) It helps me out!
I hate to be that guy but drones in the wilderness are a no go. Ramona and Marion are both in wilderness by miles. Tumalo is signed to stay on the trail which means walking behind it is off limits. Also, Multnomah is a no drone zone. Quality video but some leave no trace ethics would be nice in future videos.
First off, I appreciate your comment, your professionalism, and your LNT mentality, because I tend to be a stickler in this realm as well: I just saw some drone video in Silver Falls on IG and commented pretty much your same sentiment on that post. And while I'm aligned with you on LNT, I know that I let my intrusive thoughts occasionally win (it's true) so there is certainly room for improvement on my end. Also, I'd like to respond: 1. Tumalo, I took the pretty obvious trail by the bridge and walked upstream and I didn't see any sign indicating that was off-limits to walk up the river (Removed all footage that encourages going down there) 2. I am extremely aware that Multnomah and the whole Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area/Mark Hatfield/Eagle Creek etc is a no drone zone that's why I didn't fly in Tunnel/Wahclella/Ecola, etc - and when filming Multnomah, I launched from outside the zone (i.e the river) and stayed outside the zone over the river the duration of the flight while filming Multnomah. 3. I have learned something new, I didn't know that drones are prohibited in Oregon Wilderness. Shoot. Good to know, and I suppose one more thing to check before launching! Thank you! -Jackson
Thx for sharing the video! I am planning to go to Tumalo falls and I can't find any way to get to the bottom of the waterfalls on the internet. Could you please share how you reached the bottom of waterfalls? not top?
You might see people scrambling down from the top, like above the waterfall, but that is officially closed. the proper way to get to the bottom requires a bit more discovery, and I'll give just a hint: bridge.
Crazy that you spotted that, because that is the **ONLY time I showed that waterfall in the entire video (that's a hint... this waterfall wasn't on the list or in any of my videos). I don't want to blow up this spot, but I will give you a hint... this waterfall is within a 30minute drive from where I was raised (which I have hinted and said directly in many of my videos)... that's all that I will say. Good luck investigating!!!!
@@N617A haha I feel like it’s a fair little scavenger thing - I just can’t blow up one of the local spots so easily, it will requires some investigation 😜 but in all seriousness, thanks for watching my videos, I appreciate it!
That is a crazy question because they are all over Oregon! If you made a perfect route and optimized it… it might take you 5 days to see them all? Romona & tamanawas is a day, tunnel falls is a day, Tumalo, white river falls & Marion is a big day. Salt creek, Abiqua & tokatee falls is a big day and then Multnomah + others is a good day.
Just curious, no issues with flying your drone? I've been looking at all the regulations and I know there are a lot of areas that don't allow it. I'm guessing if you go at times and it's not crowded it's not an issue.
So you cannot take off, or land in wilderness areas, as far as I am aware there are two waterfalls on this list that you cannot get the same footage as I obtained without breaking the law. Multnomah I launched and flew over the river and never entered the natural area there. There is a lot of misinformation out there, good luck deciphering it all!
@@firehead1221 yeah - and I don’t want to incriminate myself for what I say on here, but yes… wilderness areas are off limits (which I just learned) so some of the footage here cannot be replicated lawfully. 😜
Good stuff.. I know there are a couple more you didn't mention. National Creek falls and Mill Creek falls which include Barr Creek falls as well. I live less than 10 minutes from the Mill creek falls. My drone had some issues that day and I was new to flying this DJI AIR. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mScpd2Si4eM.htmlsi=Mw84VJA8FPgUijvW Oh.. when you first see the waterfall.. That IS my DJI Phantom 3 Pro sitting on the wall. Unretrievable. Got too close at the top of the falls and ran into a small branch on the right side of the fall. oops..
Yeah there are like close to 300 named waterfalls in Oregon Plus a whole lot of undiscovered or unnamed, but this is what I believe the top 10 are... and No way, just watched that video. That sucks! haha brutal.
You mispronounced Abiqua. It's not Ah-bic-kwa, it should be more like Abby-kwa. Silver Falls State Park is another good place to go. There are 10 falls located on 24 miles of hiking trails. 4 of the 10 falls have trails that allow you to go behind the falls. South Falls is probably the easiest of them to get to.
I am always one to take constructive criticism... so thank you, that is good to know. That being said.... I sure hope you got far more out of that video beyond the fact that I mispronounced a word. I spent like 7 weekends and over 2600 miles in my car for this video, and I hope you could enjoy it and have something else to say besides a correction 😭 did you click the like button or subscribe? haha
👋Hey Everyone! Please click the like button above ^^ (it's a thumbs-up button), subscribe, leave a comment (I answer everyone) and turn on the bell notification to stay tuned in for more authentic travel videos from just a wanna-be RU-vidr! 😉 In all seriousness, thank you for watching, I appreciate you all showing this video love, it really does mean a lot to me, I'm loving the journey; I'm going to be doing a lot more waterfall adventures in the summer of 2024 and have some more epic videos planned!
You can indeed. Actually, if you go on RU-vid, there’s some pretty wild videos of guys Cliff jumping this kinda hard to find as there’s only a few out there but yes, very much much swimmable just not that many people do because it is hard to get down to.
GREAT question, I learned that wilderness areas you cannot operate in. Near multnomah you have to launch from outside the zone (aka over the river), but all the other ones you can. I think only 3 you cannot (marion and ramona)
