Great video. I get a lot of diatoms in my pond which makes the rocks inside the pond go brown. How can I get rid of diatoms? I know diatoms are good but they look unsightly.
Rainwater question. I am planning on doing rainwater catchment. Should I expect algae blooms after each rain or will a little extra bacteria solve the issue?
Hi im getting a slimmy brown thing in the bottom and side of my pond. The water is not green. Wanted to know if this is an algae and what should be done to remove it.
If you throw some lime or fertilizer in that pond it will clear up the water and slug on top of the water. I the old days everyone had cows and they peeing and pooed in the pond and it fertilized the pond but now days most people don't have cows or horses.
Excellent point!!! We have used wood ash for years, and have found that oak seems to do well. It's uncommon, so I omitted it from the video. Thanks for pointing that out. Not many people know of its uses. I found this article online for other readers that may see this thread. :) You are awesome! :) -Carl lifeonpigrow.blogspot.com/2017/02/uses-for-wood-ash.html?m=1
