Neighbor has an elantra with a cvt and loud exhaust. Sounds like a lawn mower because the tuning of the transmission keeps the engine at about the same rpms under acceleration. People are whack, man.

the caddy is a prime example of why you always keep a resonator on a v6, doesn't matter if it's a VQ, 2GR or J series. they just rasp hella.

Not just a resonator, with any boxer or V type engine you want to equalize both cylinder banks with a crossover (X or H pipe), with resonators directly behind if you want duals. Makes all the difference.

As a 2GR owner... yeh. I ended up putting magnaflow 5x5x14 muffler in the center of the car and it tamed all the rasp but still let's the V6 sing. I agree they need some type of something somewhere in the system. Full straight on a nib turbo always sounds clapped

cadillac, dodge, and Honda can produce by far the potentially worse sounding v6's ever depending on what type of setup the driver uses..that cadillac was probably one of the first v6's aside from other v6 chargers that sound similar or worse than 4 bangers

Most the Mercedes I have driven(never an AMG) always have the temperature needle resting above center. It is normal from my experience, I had read before that it was because of a higher accuracy in their sensors but that could be BS.

These are not all straightpipes, a true straight pipe is no cats, no mufflers, and no resonators after the headers or turbo, my legacy gt could be considered straight piped even if I left the pre turbo cat on.

I love a straight piped lancer, I had a 2016 😭 loved the way it sounded. It would pop too.

With a resonator they sound even better. Just gets rid of any rasp, still pretty loud

@@sleeper.simulant7327 I had a custom pipe 2.5” and I kept the cat. It sounded better than the one he did because it was just done better lol but I loved the sound and everyone always asked what exhaust system I had. Lancers are fun cars, honestly

@@itstroy4145fun in what way 😂? I had one as a daily for a while it and it was the slowest POS in the world. My wife’s Minivan would drag me. I would not be caught dead modifying the exhaust on a lancer… on my ego though.. that’s a different story
