Harsha Varthan You have to keep their ears clean to avoid infections. I think their biggest problem is rear knee ligaments but if you discourage jumping that helps a lot. They walk well on their hind legs don’t encourage that either. One knee repair cost me $2800 a year later I had to pay for the other one. The oldest of the 2 beagles I have now has had no knee problems, she’s 10 yrs old. They are prone to weight gain but that is a people problem. They are accomplished beggars.

My 6 month old drove me crazy doing all this (and more) for the first few months. Now, I can’t imagine my world without him in it. Who needs towels, toilet paper, slippers, shoes, socks, and a useful coffee table when you have a beagle, amirite?

Between 13 yrs & 4 beagles, we've encountered consistent yet unusual destruction, theft & scrounging - and we still wouldn't want life any other way! ❤ Beagles are the Best family dogs, and they are family members not "pets"! They are so loving and loyal, they are better at being "human" than many people. And mine love carrots too 😉

April Taylor My wife and I do have a houseful. We have 7 beagles, 10 dogs total. It's a great way to live, but you really need to love dogs and have a lot of money. We spend easily a thousand dollars a month. If beagles are what you want, go to an animal shelter in the country where dogs are used for hunting. A lot of beagles needing a forever home. Good Luck.

We have 2 female beagles, the 10 yr looks like the larger of the ones here and the 1 yr old a lot like Oliver. They behave like the ones in this video. It’s really amazing to see the complete destruction of a roll of toilet paper, a 1000 pieces. A couple of days ago the pup(Pickles) leapt into a pond to chase a duck, the ducks were quite safe. I adore my beagles! They can be noisy, love their food (and yours), need long walks and will disappear chasing whatever so I have to leash mine.

Beagles have a truly diverse set of sounds. Not just bark and howl. Mine has an indescribable sound when the voice comes on saying what the caller ID is when the phone rings.

As a kid, we had a beagle-mix. My mother once left a 1 lb. package of FROZEN hamburger on the kitchen counter. She was gone no more than 5 minutes and when she came back the entire package was gone. Our dog, Snoopy, was very helpful in looking all over the house for the hamburger but we never found it. It's not that beagles don't show guilt, it's just their enthusiasm overwhelms it.

I got my beagle from a rescue. I had a lab before. She’s a little bundle of energy. She can sniff out food immediately. She loves to run around and steal food. She wouldn’t have paused this long to jump on the table and steal the food. She loves belly rubs and licking peoples faces. She’s my precious baby and I’d take nothing for her. Beagles are amazing.

Thank you for the videos you have made. We received our first beagle, she was one year old and her owner could not take care of her. We took her in, but had no idea how 'busy' beagles were. We had pretty much decided we were not 'beagle people', when I saw your videos. They brought me a smile and changed my mind. Now, she is such an integral part of our family. Life just would not be the same without her. Thank you for helping me to understand, as best I can, and smile, about beagles.

my beagle (Rosie) is one of the most amazing and entertaining dogs I’ve met - she learned how to open cabinets so we have to lock every cabinet she can get to -she can rip open a plush squeaker toy to get the squeaker in 8-20 minuets so we have to be careful -she rarely barks, which is odd -she just celebrated her 10th bday :)

My beagle doggie also learned to open a drawer door. She observed that if she banged into it, the door pops open and there it is - --- her bag of kibble. She is so cute!

True to the last frame- I never knew what our life was missing until we brought home Angie da’ beagle ( darling of Pinterest) what a character- 🤣 but no more lovable breed can be found. Curious, stubborn, all traits of this wonderful dog. Mine thinks she’s married to my husband & is so attached I sometimes have reassure myself that I’m NOT the side chick 🐥- smhadl (shaking my head All Day Long!!! ) Loved ur video & thanks for sharing- ur a brave man- you’ve got 2 of them?!!!

I have a beagle named Sookie, she’s the most intelligent dog I’ve ever had. She’s bilingual, and loves music, no exaggeration... the list goes on and on; though very naughty, she’s a sweet, loving doggy... I love her to bits and pieces! I recommend beagles!!🥰

Such cute beagles! Thank you for sharing them. Had a beaglr years ago, miss her very much to this day. Her favorite trick was to go to the door and bark like someone was there; when I came back my food was always gone. She was an awesome dog though I still miss her. Some day I'll get a beagle again. They are sweet dogs and mine was very intelligent, even if she did eat everything.

Beagles are the most loving dogs you could have. My first one I had for 15 years, my second is now 4. Yes they love carrots. Its like crack for my current dog. Much better than regular treats.

lol table jump reminded me of when my old beagle got on the table at thanksgiving dinner and ate an entire ham. we took away all the chairs so she couldn't climb them but she still got up while nobody was looking. whatever you do to keep your food safe is not enough

About a month ago my dog went through the trash and ate my brother's pills that help him concentrate. She spent the night in the hospital getting fluid and mrs to calm her down. Now she never god into the trash :)

In our house we literally have to put our trashcan in the hallway near the front door so they can't get to it. I've got a 11 year old Beagle named Bella and a 1 year old Beagle named Jack. I love beagles and they make perfect and fun pets! Couldn't live without them.

They're also independent thinkers but fortunately very food oriented so you have to practically barter with them. Very frustrating for some people who end up labeling them "stubborn" at best.

Elfie In Angel City They aren't stubborn. As noted, they can be reasoned with via food. I would characterize them more as self-regarding. They have a clear sense of themselves as being an individual and entitled to a due respect as any sentient being would. Sometimes they actually come off as being noble. Which may be part of the reason most people think Beagles are cute because their personalities are inappropriately puffed up for such a small animal that can't even count to four!

Our beagle has two barking modes: On when we're eating or Off when he's sleeping. In between then, he's more often On than Off, either craving attention or wanting to play. But, on the other hand, with those big sad eyes fastened on us, and absolutely no barking, we can't resist sharing the last bite of our Oreo with him.

Im coming in late on this late. We recently had to put our Beagle of 15 years down. We named him Tonka due to his wide chest and he was a bully. He was a super smart, escape artist, chow hound, got into everything you didn't want him to. Basically he was a pain in the ass. We miss him very much for all those reasons.

My beagle only ever did about half of these. She never grabbed anything that wasn't food. She would lick our clothes sometimes, but not often. She had no opinion on toilet paper, shoes, socks, towels, or any chew toy she couldn't eventually destroy and rip the squeaker out of. She WOULD steal food and pretty much swallow it whole, insist she follow you into the bathroom only to fall asleep on the rug next to you, raid the trashcan, bark when she wanted your food or if there was a toy she couldn't get to or if she was annoyed with you, and practically lick your face raw if you were crying. I really miss her.

I’m on my second beagle and they will destroy things worse than a hurricane I swear. Like rip into things and just tear things apart omg. But, you fall in love with those big beautiful ears and sad little eyes. Beagles would do anything for their human, except stop destroying shit 😂
