As most people know Madonna wouldn't even have a singing career if it wasn't for autotune. Yes back in the 80's they used a technique called Varispeed (pitch bending) which was invented in the 1960's.

Steven Seagal had a few great 80s films, then he decided instead of just doing martial arts and playing cops he'd become the writer, director, star, producer etc and the wheels came off.

I don't think this highly scientific poll should include Tom Arnold, he's not a terrible actor - and there are many others far worse than him who should've made the list. Also not sure you could include Quentin Tarantino: I think he knows he can't really act, he never has any major plot-developing roles, and it all adds to the charm of his films. Not even sure I agree with Madonna. There's a laundry list of other actors who should be on this list, and aren't. It's not enough to have an inferior age complex, educating people on direct-to-video: you actually had to have been alive during the 90's, too.

Madonna was awful also in her narcissistic refusal to just let it go - she insisted on acting in movie after movie, denying an opportunity to a far more talented actress than herself. She basically made every project she appeared in a bit of a joke. In "Body of Evidence", she actd alongside Willem Defoe, ffs! What a waste of a phenomenal actor starring opposite a completely talentless one with an oversized ego. Oh, she's also not a talented singer, but nowhere near as embarrassing in that field as she is on film.

Sorry, but I can't agree about Quentin Tarantino. You think he shouldn't have been in his movies, but I think the abstract movie's he makes are perfect for his presence. And, he isn't that bad, not great, but not that bad.

This is my issue with the list. Guys like Vanilla Ice and Shaquille O' Neal were celebrities in other fields. They were not film and stage actors. In other words, they really do not count. Tom Arnold on the other hand actually started as a stand up comedian and then moved into writing. I actually did like him on Roseanne, but I really do not think he is good in film generally. He is good for TV but not the big screen. There is a difference.

Agreed. Brendan Fraser was the only redeeming quality about Encino Man, and it's funny that he shares a scene with Ke Huy Quan, who would end up winning an Oscar in the same year as him.

It’s unfair that Jean Claude Van Damme as the worst actor of the ’90s. However, you should flip the script and make a Top 10 Best Action Stars of the 90’s (excluding Arnold and Stallone). Van Damme has made some great gems like Hard Target, Timecop, and two of my favorite underrated Van Damme movies were Sudden Death and The Quest.

Me right now: WOW, never thought I’d miss Carrot Top’s original face. His prop comedy was good early on. Imagine being so narcissistic that because you’re known for one thing (music, comedy, martial arts, writing) you can master such things like acting. Obviously, nope! If he's here because he can't act, then Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, and a few other beef cakes should be on this list. 🤣🤣🤣. Downvoted immediately at Tom Arnold. Sure, he phones it in fairly often but he was great in True Lies and pretty good in Nine Months and Big Bully. He was great again later on in "Hit and Run". Lot's of worse actors out there in the '90s. Half yours are wrong calls as these are worse: Any Baldwin not Alec, Marguex Hemingway, anything Striesand has done in the last 40 years, Bo Derek, Dom DeLuise, Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopi (pretty much anything not Ghost), Marlon Brando also since the 1980s, Dennis Rodman, etc.

I kind of blame producers / directors for hiring people solely on the basis that they are beautiful / sexy/ famous. In real life you wouldn't give, say, an important administrative position to somebody whose single qualification is to be famous and then expect them to be any good at ... ... oh wait.

I hadn't heard of Carrot Top before. From what I can see on this video, he's a rip-off of the Australian director, producer, actor, comedian, screen writer Yahoo Serious (Young Einstein Reckless Kelly etc). The lack of originality is as obvious as his lack of comic talent.

He's a prop comic who got his start in the late 80s. It's just always been his look. Not much you can do with very curly red hair. His comedy routine wasn't terrible in the beginning, but comics absolutely hated having to follow him on stage.

In the 90s Monica Bellucci was, as an actress, expressionless and emotionless, sort of modelling (rather than acting) her way through every movie she was in. She started off as a model and in her early movies it really showed! However, she has gotten better with age and I respect that. Also, her otherworldly beauty and classiness sort of made up for her lack of acting talent, but she was still not a good actress in the 90s at all.

He may have been one of the reasons behind the scenes that Growing Pains got so bad in the later years, but he was at least an okay actor. His later work is probably more a reflection of the subject matter and writing than anything else.

Is Pauly shore a good actor? No not by any means but than again he was basically never able to leave that character so we'll never truly know. That's the thing though was he has playing a character, yes the same character but a character none the less in all those movies so he was always on point with it. Anyway don't down talk biodome or son in law. Both are classics.

Steven Seagal movies are like guilty pleasures for me. The biggest thing that I hate is how soft spoken his dialogue is. Can't tell what he is saying unless you have the volume up to ear-piercing levels.

I've only seen Tom Arnold in True Lies, Jean-Claude Van Damme in Street Fighter and Sofia Coppola in The Godfather part 3 from the films from those decades.

Jean-Claude Van Damme was an early version of Taylor Lautner. He was mainly eye candy. The only thing I can remember about the few movies if his I've seen was he had his shirt off a lot. It's pretty much the only part of the movie worth watching. TBH, I thought I heard a news report that he died of a heart attack years ago. I didn't realize he's actually still alive.

While Sofia will always be remembered as the actress that undermined the Godfather III, this is just one movie, and also a role her dad practically forced her into. To rank so high in an all time of the decade seems a bit harsh.

From the clips I couldn't really say if Madonna's acting was so bad, or he writing she got because she constantly got (or chose?) those blonde poison roles. I thought her acting in Dick Tracy (and my, what a delightfully weird movie that was) was actually good, but I'll admit I haven't rewatched it in forever. And, come to think of it: I watched a dubbed version, and a good dubbing artist can make a world of a difference.
