Here my Top 10 worst Ash’s Gym battles 1, Ash vs Brock 2, Ash vs Sabrina 3, Ash vs Team Rocket 4, Ash vs,Watson 5, Ash vs Cress 6, Ash vs Erika 7, Ash vs Misty 8, Ash vs Lenora 9, Ash vs Brawly 10, Ash vs Elesa.
The worst part about the Elesa battle is that by that point GOD knows that the writers are never gonna let Ash win a gym Battle without losing a single Pokémon.
@@EliteTrainerMark honestly, one thing I really like about Alola is that it did a great job to show how strong Ash was by then. I mean, he obliterated all of the Kahunas except for Nanu, but even then, in the rematch Lycanroc destroyed all three of his Pokémon. Against Hala and Olivia, Ash got handicapped by his own Pokémon when Rowlet fell asleep against Hala and Rockruff attacked Rowlet against Olivia. And even then he won. And the Kahunas are extremely strong trainers, all using evolved Pokémon, and Ash beat them with Pikachu, Rowlet, Rockruff/Lycanroc. I mean, seriously, it really gave the impression that Ash was kinda in another level. And let's not even talk about Hapu, where he used Pikachu against the ground type Kahuna and won. That's badass.
For sure, that's why it really felt right for me that Ash won his first League there - throughout the entire series, he was presented as the best trainer in all of Alola. Sure, he had obstacles in his way, like Nanu and Gladion, but he surpassed them while dominating most everyone else. His battle against Hapu was basically just him saying "yeah, I can do whatever I want and still win." And that was mostly because of his strength as a trainer, not even that he had the strongest Pokémon. Throughout the series, he was able to use weaker/unevolved Pokémon and still win because of his training and tactics!
That's a fair point. I would count his Striaton Gym matches as one battle, so put them all together and it's an alright battle. But yeah, that's arguably as bad as or worse than Pikachu's loss to Snivy in the first BW episode.
Other than the Team Rocket battle, Ash won his Kanto battles either out of pity or by defeating the gym leader on the 2nd try, or 3rd try in Sabrina's case. The Team Rocket one is the only one where he both won legitimately and on the first try.
@@EliteTrainerMark Actually the Koga one was interrupted by Team Rocket then when they were dealt with, Ash either continued from earlier or had another one.

I remember catching brief bits of black and white while it was on tv. And when that happened that was where I was officially done with the anime. Ash should’ve known you don’t rely on just one Pokémon to win your battles. Plus as Linkara said in his review of a couple black and white episodes. By this point he beat the orange island, beat the battle frontier and was offered a membership, and made it to the semi finals of the unova region. This anime made him lose to a guy who was just starting out and he forgot you shouldn’t rely on just one Pokémon………. 😡😤🤬
You'll hate me for this... but I didn't mind the Thunder Armor😅. Was it totally ridiculous? Yes, but that didn't ruin the battle for me. There are a lot of other problems with that battle though that almost landed it on this list, such as it getting interrupted by Team Rocket and Tate & Liza's dysfunction as a duo. So it may not have made my Top 10, but it's definitely in the discussion!
I think I actually wrote that Top 10 list at the same time I wrote this video. So yes, for over a year I've been thinking about it haha. Someday soon, I'll probably do it
I personally find Ash vs Sabrina to be the worst in my opinion. Cuz at least some of the other battles were contained in one episode. This one was a whole ass story arc, containing 3 eps. And the payoff really was disappointing. Definitely aged pretty badly ://
I'll be honest, I've already got my top 10 list + honorable mentions, as well as the thumbnail for the video, I just have other projects I want to do first. The Top 10 Best Gym Battles is coming though!
Well I know I probably like BW more than a lot of people. Most of the Gym Battles are alright, so there's not much reason to have them here. BW was the first time that any of Ash's Pokémon evolved during Gym Battles, so that automatically created some good battles. And matches like Ash vs Brycen and Ash vs Roxie are two of the better Gym Battles ever
One of my least favorite Ash gym battles is his first match against Viola. Mostly because of her Surskit. Everyone is always saying Unova is bad because of Pikachu VS Snivy, but Pikachu couldn't use any elekrtic type attacks, also, no one ever talks about how Pikachu lost to a FREAKING SURSKIT. That's a WATER TYPE. i hate this so much, i love the Unova anime, so i hate it that it's so hated cuz Pikachu got beat by a snivy, while xy is so loved even though Pikachu lost TO A FRICKIN SURSKIT WHICH IS A WATER TYPE I agree with the rest of the list, though
I think it's weird how Pikachu lost to cress's panpour I mean Pikachu is electric type and Panpour is a water type that is just dumb but not as dumb as Pikachu winning against a Latios and then losing against a supposed to be level 5 Snivy

While I still don't really like my voice that much, I will say that this video is months old and I think now I have better tech + a more natural sounding voice, but it's a fair point. I'm always trying to get better
