@@dancarter5775 Yeah, its better, but Possum comes back later. Each one has their advantage, although Nuvia is much more fast.

Jam Breeding Machine also didn't floodgate you in the manga/anime, and just destroyed itself when you Normal Summoned a monster(you could even Special Summon monsters with no drawbacks). Making it infinitely more useful.

Couldn't you still tribute set your monsters. Then next turn you flip summon them or they get flipped by your opponent. I think that they didn't want to upset the tribute mechanic by essentially lowering tribute costs by 1 with each copy of jam machine on the field

@@christiancinnabars1402 The manga for Yugipedia just says "Once per turn "Jam Breeding Machine" produces 1 "Slime" with 500 ATK, but you cannot Summon other monsters while they are on the field." which isnt the same, but it doesnt matter anyway since the Anime is like what you described.

Imagine if Yu-Gi-Oh! invested into alternate formats and we still ran Pauper/"Heart of the Underdog" format today.

That makes it even worse since its pretty much a gacha mechanic! Oh you drew this super rare, now your just better then all the other kids! Imagine yu-gi-oh from the earliest days where if you had blue eyes you just auto won since theres no tributes, at least in the manga, its pretty much that. If your right then that looks even worse then just being incompetent at making good cards!

Revival Jam would have been semi-OP with its anime effects since it was basically indestructible by any means.

Maybe when the fusion monster returns it's not considered a special summon, otherwise yeah, you can't use the tag team effect the same turn the monster is special summoned

Exodia the Forbidden One is not banned despite having "Forbidden" in its name.

I was the same way until master duel came out. Its free and easy to learn. Its got a bot problem in ranked right now but thats not going to affect you too much early on. You'll have solo mode to learn the game and plenty of gems to open packs and build/craft a couple of decks. I have enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Give it a try! It was cool to hear about how powerful these cards are or how bad they are and then go experience it for myself.

That was both secrets and a great ultra for old school. You definitely deserved to win with such pulls back then.

@@lucatronfietti5591 Pot of greed allows you to draw 2 cards. Mirror force destroys all attack position monsters when your opponent declares an attack. Fissure makes Fish a sure thing

I mean, there were low rarity cards with almost the same stats, so those low attack/restriction monsters still sucked on launch in TCG. 7 Colored Fish for example was common rarity (lowest one) in the 2nd pack in the game and a 1800 vanilla beatstick and came in starter packs too. The real reason is that OCG was released 4 years earlier, and many of those cards were released before the power creep of 2001-2002 over there, though many of them also sucked on launch too (mostly niche anime cards that did not even need to be nerfed), just not that badly. This can be experienced in some of the earliest YGO gameboy games around, where bad rituals and early fusions were actually kind of usable. The game rules were changed a couple of times early on which affected their viability, too. TCG product makers just decided they wanted to start with the same power level as current OCG back then, but also initially attempted to release all the cards in the game, but through just a few years they realized those overtly bad cards were hurting their products and decided to just not release the remaining, making the large majority of the gap on OCG that are not in TCG outside of newest ones.

Well, Masked Beast Des Guardius in the manga didn't have a summoning condition; it seems to have been an ordinary two-tribute monster. It was given that downside in the real game because it broke the 3000 Rule.

Which required all sorts of not correct effect to work: Card of Safe Return draws 3 cards, and does so if the monster is summoned to either field Jam Defender works for both players Revival Jam has no lifepoint cost and comes back immediately Jam Breeding Machine can destroy itself to let you tribute summon All of the cheating and refreshingly not from Yugi.

Try watch more deckbuilding challenge. It is staple in spell only deck

@@ryanchase9332 it wasn't really cheating, Takahashi just came up with insane effects for cards in order to set up specific plot points for tension/drama when Konami made the card they would notice how insanely poweful it would be and changed the effects to make it less powerful so imagine my shock when I read revival jam's effect and noticed it doesn't auto revive like in the anime and instead sucks Also sometimes effects were left as they were but you would inevitably notice just how absurd it actually was for them to work and realize characters just had plot magic armor like with Yugi/Joey and Mirage Knight

There are Castlevania, Space Manbow, Metal Gear, Wizard of OZ mixed with Star Wars and Dr. Who Cards just to name a few

They got a ton from the Konami games alone. They could make their own list lol

Once per turn, You may discard this card from your hand; special summon/set flip monster, “Jinzo” monster or “Traptrix” monster, and set 1 trap, from your hand or GY. Once per turn, you may banish this card from your GY (Quick Effect); facedown cards you control cannot be destroyed by card effect until the end phase._ Would THIS be better? I threw in support for flip monsters, collapsed the original effects together, tossed in a graveyard effect, and threw in a pinch of ironic support for Traptrix and Jinzo monsters. And also gave it a third effect to tie into the name better. Especially since you have three distinct ways to proc it.

Even if you add in support for flip monsters, it won't be used with that in mind. May as well toss the flip support effect and just focus on trap protection. Also remove Jinzo from the support because it won't mix well with a Traptrix deck. Will also support a ruling in the card "You may discard this card from your hand; special summon/set an “Traptrix” monster, and set 1 trap, from your hand or GY expect for "Triple Snare". You can only activate each effect of "Triple Snare" once per turn" Would make it a good support card without it being overly broken and getting banned or limited.

Here's another version: Ultra Snare (Quick-play spell) Discard 1 card from your hand: destroy 1 card your opponent controls that has an effect that negates card effects and if you do, draw 1 card. Your opponent cannot activate card effects in response to this card's activation.

I think the point of Fengsheng Mirror is that you can only really remove Spirits from the field with traps since they go back to your hand at the end of the turn. If there were more broken Spirit monsters back in the day that were deck staples, I can see it as a viable way to send them to the GY because after they're summoned once, you know they're in the hand.

@@polocatfan it's nowhere near top 10 worst levels of bad, though. It's much better than Cyclone Laser and Double Snare. There are also much worse cards than Fengsheng Mirror from LON/LOD that didn't even make the list at all, and I can name 10 right now: Fire Sorcerer, Spirit Elimination, Spirit of the Breeze, Dreamsprite, Deal of Phantom, Nutrient Z, The Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler, Winged Minion, Shadow Tamer, and Dragon Manipulator. Fire Sorcerer, Spirit Elimination, and Nutrient Z are worse than any of the cards that made the top 10 aside from Chosen One.

@@Masahane the point is that you get to see your opponent's hand with Fengsheng no matter what. That's very powerful.

Tbh, their schtick of tagging out between different monsters has been done better by Gladiator Beasts or even Sky Striker.

@@lolicunny2 Well, isn't Sky Strikers just the same lady getting in a different mech? But yes, the Gladiator Beasts do seem to have fulfilled this ideal much better.

Off top, field spell that lets you fuse from the deck and makes the effects quick, name replacements with effects, and then a card that while good in the deck, is actually super useful outside of it so every deck makes a way of using it. Yugioh.

It's not a true Garnet because with cards like Delinquent Duo, Forceful Sentry, Confiscation and Don Zaloog being fairly common, you might get the lock even without detonating CED.

eh, not really. If yata was in your opponent's hand, then chances are they weren't pulling off the lock anyways, since it meant that they couldn't use CED to clear your field/hand to keep you locked down.

I say..they should of allow us to keep bringing back Revival Jam as long as we have the life points to keep paying the 1000 cost. So..in a nut shell..I attack and destroyed your Revival Jam at the end of the damage calculation you can choose to pay 1000 life points to special summon your Jam back to your side of the field. As long as you got life points you can keep doing it. Lol.

@@SCH292 honestly, these days even the anime effect would've made no difference. TONS of cards could get revival jam off the field with any kind of removal, banishing, tributing etc. There is no way it'd be broken even without the life point cost...unless there is some infinite loop I'm not aware of

Most of the Cyber Dragon cards would fit.

Even then, it would still be worthless by modern standards. By the time the game moved to the point where having cards in your graveyard was a benefit, there were much better ways of discarding cards while also gaining benefits out of it instead of trashing pretty much your whole hand for nothing. I feel like the only way this card could see any beneficial use would be in the early days of infernity, to trash your whole hand before they had good support cards to do that for you

By old school standards I would argue a hero emerges is actually a decent card. It's not that hard to set up your hand to get a free special summon off of it.

@@lightning2279 True, but that takes more set up than a Sakuretsu Armor and there’s a chance your opponent can still beat over whatever you summoned or take it out with a spell card unless it is early enough in the game for that beat stick they picked to be a threat. Granted, that has happened to me a few times and it is fun in older games.

Oh yeah, Rush Duel shows a lot of nice new versions of classic monsters and monsters from the new era.

Actually, funnily, it was inverted in Japan. Gemini Elf was originally released as a Common, while Nuvia was an Ultra Rare.

@@jayclearmen411 Yeah, that's what made it broken in those particular battles. You could normal summon it and, it's attack increased to 2600 in the darkness.

Magical hats is a far better way of doing that. I magical hat spell and trap cards with floating effects such as the "Ojama magic trick" card for Ojama decks or even Geartown.
