I went to the "Agent" movie with my friend for an early morning show at around 8am or something. The first looks and Teaser had me interested, but the trailer had me sus. But I had confidence in the director "Surender Reddy", thinking at least I will get to watch a technically nice and enjoyable film. But, nope!!! I lost my mind in the Theatre while watching it! And, in the second half of the movie, at one point I lost my mind totally when the scene cuts abruptly to a song. So much so that, I stood up and started clapping 😂😂😂. I lost my mind by that point, I couldn't believe what was happening on the screen. A moment that is forever etched in my mind 😂😂
I really want to know what gave Ramayan makers the level of delusional confidence to make that cringefest. That movie's release united people irrespective of class, religion, caste and political ideology.
In the last 5 years my admiration for Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada movies has increased 10 fold. But whenever it's time to watch a Telugu movie, an unidentified dread starts setting in my mind. Why Telugu movies and Actors are not evolving like other South Indian industries. Why whenever i watch a Telugu movie (which i am interested in and made a choice to watch) it is always a Loud and Bombastic Mess with Actors doing whatever they want and paying no heed to the story. Why do the big Telugu Actors not want to experiment. Every Year there are bound to be big releases starring my fav actors and they disappoint so much. Why is it so??? Do Telugu people love such movies and demand such movies??
I would blame the telegu cinema, Telegu speaking people. It's like a forced indoctrination of telegu cinema. Force the telegu people to watch shit films with shit releases every week because of which they are brainwashed and the people themselves will start appreciating the previous shitty film compared to the latest shitty film and the next shit becomes a hit. The primary reason for this crap happening is the hero worship to the core. Fan wants the 63yr old star to look the same, act the same and behave the same as he used to in the 80's- 90's in which, one of his films was a blockbuster. Since it's a hero worship, actors too prefer to be in their comfort zone with minimalistic efforts in acting and try different subjects since that will impact their star image, hero worship and political image. The next reason is the producers are at the mercy of the top star families like the Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri, Akkineni, Konidela and others too. Since they have political connections and politicians themselves and some turned producer. The star family gets top priority in accessing new film projects and since the hero worship is continued from father to son. The son gets launched as a saviour in films too. Since they are nepo kids and they consider fans and people of telegu as dumb. The son too puts little effort in acting and the heroines are mostly show pieces and degraded by the lead hero which the telegu people blindly mimics the saviour and thinks that's how you woo the girls. Since the whole telegu film ecosystem is controlled by the family. The nepo kids are safe. Since the producer is at mercy he does not want to take the risk of launching a new hero from outside the film fraternity and face losses since people don't wish to accept new people and new stories. Just blinded by the star's. This circle has continued for generations and will be continued for years to come. Some people might argue that Vijay devarakonda is an outsider but the question is why only Vijay devarakonda in soo many years. Tamil and Malayalam, (can't comment on kannada yet)launches new actors and actresses every month. If the cinema needs to change, the people need to change their taste in watching cinema and diversify it rather than still sticking to matrix shit.
I mean last year also has a lot to do with the fact rhat other than prabhas there were no other big hero movies. Like only 1 of the 6 big heroes made a movie, 2024 is to be much better hopefully with all 6 heroes having movies with promising plots

I mean Leo was a good push for Vijay to try something different but even then, he was still this glorified hero at the end of it all. But I like how Suriya, Dhanush, Vikram, Karthi are trying different kind of films. For Telugu, try movies with Nani! I find his films to be so much better than the likes of the typical Telugu hero’s.
@@-a7132 I would not deny that Hero worship is not present in Tamil cinema but the extent to which it happens is less compared to Telegu cinema. I accept that Vijay is only one who does not try to do anything different but the majority of the stars have tried to experiment with their role. I would have agreed with you on Ajith too but he have experiment with himself playing an anti-hero with Mankatha and a realistic police in Yennai Arindhaal and now is the same formulaic one but at least I can say he tried to experiment in himself and which I don't think any hero in Telegu would have risked but now followed by the trend but still they fail miserably. I can still argue that there is a balance in realistic and over the top in Tamil. And the over the top cinema is getting less and actors are moving more towards a realistic approach. Even Rajnikanth at this age is trying to reinvent himself by experimenting with different kinds of films. I would not say that his films are hits but at least he is trying something age appropriate rather than romancing with someone younger twice the age, Starting with Kabali. I would still love an over the top action film with at least a good story. I can say I loved salaar, Janatha garage, RRR, Sita Raman etc because it had a good story.
There are 2 films from K'wood and M'wood which depicts the place as titles - Japan from Karthi and Bandra from Dileep, during Diwali releases.Ukri once had that Midas touch when he wrote Runway, CID MOOSA, Vettam, Twenty:20 and Pulimurugan but is mostly now outdated since Masterpiece. Whenever we're hyped for a Dileep film nowadays, he genuinely lets us down thereby not having repeat value like his earlier films.Voice of Sathyanathan was his only highest grossing film this year.Varisu and Thunivu from K'wood also are the examples.
Interesting that there was no Malayalam, Tamil, or Marathi film in this list. Guess they just had lesser bad movies and are trying to at least aim for content.
In malayalam industryv230+ movies released and only 10-13 movies get the hit tag others flopped at the boxoffice but jammy is biased towards malayalam cinema he only see the good side

Since they don't do a lot of high budget movies and don't really market their movies the same way some other industries do the only movies that get recommended to him are the great ones. It's kinda the opposite of the way Americans view indian movies. The only clips that go viral in the US are absurd Indian scenes since grounded scenes don't get a lot of traction.
For every bad movie out there, someone will outdo them by making a worse movie. When you think that it cannot get any worse than that, some other movie will surprise you to the point that what you thought was bad suddenly starts to seem palatable.

For me Adipurush and Gadar 2(no offence) were the most unbearable movies that i watched this year🙂. I didn't watch Kisi ka bhai kisi ki jaan, ganpath and yaariyan 2, their trailers told their fate.

Trust me when I say this I went to skanda on national cinema day because of the cheap ticket prices and even after many days the theatre was almost housefull on that day and most of the audience were students and everyone had a laugh riot during the action scenes and the songs.
I really wanted the makers to release badass ravikumar in the theatres. That legendary film would have been a sureshot competitor along with deshdrohi like classics
