For every good example they eviscerate which goes on to be a success theirs 10 or 20 others that fail horribly. (Not to mention you'd have to be crazy to invest 250,000$ on an unproven concept that hadn't even made a penny at that point.)

For anyone wondering what happened to the Track Days movie, the two guys started a kickstarter with a 2 million dollar goal shortly after the airing of the episode. The kickstarter only made $2000. I'm pretty sure a script was never made. The film was cancelled.
there's lots of rare metals in ocean water. you'd just be stupid to try to make a buck filtering it out. it'd cost waaaaay more than the tiny amount of metal you'd get from the complex filtering processes you'd have to do. same goes for some rare earth metals on land. some are actually not that "rare". some are as common as copper, they're just dispersed in the rocks and soil on a molecular level so it's basically impractical trying to obtain it for any gain. processing ocean water for gold is like processing enough soil to dig a surface mine to make a gold coin. then again its only a byproduct... hmm...

The logistics behind a device that cools things to 40 degrees and can also heat things up to 300-400 degrees within the same compartment seems like a disaster in the lifetime of the product. While not impossible, and I'm sure there are things out there (I imagine the military has found use out of these items), the cost of a product that lasts longer than a handful of uses would most definitely be the issue at hand.
I haven't heard of seen anyone use a device that administers an electrical shock for anything that was really kinky... so, hooray for all the dog owners I know?
lots of people aren't really okay with that, either. conversely, people okay with shock collars probably wouldn't mind the squirrel shocker thing, except for that you have to sit and wait for the squirrels, which imo is its biggest fault.

I think you should have added the No Phone. Probably the worst idea ever for a product. It was basically a fake plastic phone. It was supposedly going to get people to stop spending so much time on their phones. Everyone immediately said they were out.
How the hell did bulletball become legit? I seriously doubt that. The only thing I saw was when someone posted a link from worldstarhiphop (strike one, as that's a site for stupid people) and they showed a clip from a local news station (strike two) and they were showing that one medical type place that uses it (strike 3). None of that is "becoming legit". For it to become a legit good idea and not a stupid one. First it needs to be able to make money. And it should be by the general public. Not being used for rehabilitation in a single facility. I can see morons who go to worldstar being fooled into thinking it's successful from that clip. But im hoping that's not what you're talking about. Is there some other source that shows it's become "legit"?
