I wanna give a shoutout to Yusei's duels in the facility where he kicked ass using cards that weren't even his. Also, Yusei and Kallen vs. that Wild West guy who's name escapes me at the moment.
Amiri GX was my personal favourite because of Jaden but objectively speaking 5D's was the best if you forget about nostalgia. 1.5D's 2. Duel Monsters 3. GX
The one where Aki summons Yusei's dragon. For the first time in Yu-gi-oh, a female character doesn't suck. But yeah... 5D was actually really great, especially Yusei's voice.
Sorry as awesome as seeing Aki use Stardust was, that duel loses a lot of points for having her lose (her only WRGP duel btw) just so Yusei could pull a 1v3 from the behind victory.
All the female students were automatically accepted into Obelisk Blue despite their actual grades or abilities. The only exception to that is Blair, and that's because she specifically requested to be in Slifer. I'm not disagreeing that Alexis is a really strong duelist duelist, but they didn't allow the ranking to be applied to the female students. Jasmine and Mindy didn't seem to be that strong and they were Obelisks too.
It's an insult to leave out the entire plot of both series. I gave up on Yugioh dubs after that and thank God I did cause they're not even trying to dub at this point
SiNKarnage What's an insult is that they censored the fuck out of 5d's this franchise is cursed in general it get's the best most fitting english voice acting but it get's censored to the point of becoming a complete kiddie show
Honestly, I actually feel like 5Ds is the only YU-GI-OH generation that's extremely under-rated. Still need to finish watching it, but one thing I like about 5Ds is how dark it is as well. I may be watching it dubbed, but 5Ds sure is worth watching though.
5Ds was my favorite Yugioh series What I liked most about it was the mature themes of the show, having the right amount of seriousness for a kid friendly anime
Stardust Dragon is possibly my favourite card of all time, I might buy a copy just for personal satisfaction even though I'll never actually use it lol
Absolutely not. I still do. I think they were the greatest YGO couple by far and had they been written in any other anime they would’ve been right up there with InuyashaxKagome and EdwardxWinry as one of the greatest anime pairings of all time. They were absolutely perfect for each other and it was a travesty that they never became officially canon at the end
I wouldn't say they're too young. With the exception of the twins, 5Ds had the oldest cast with each member in the beginning ranging from late teenagers *(Akiza and Crow)* to young adults *(Yusei and Jack)* . By the end of 5Ds, the cast with the exception of the twins are all adults with Yusei and Akiza being 20 and 18 respectively. In regards to whether I ship them, oh yes. They're my Yugioh OTP and the closest thing you get to actual confirmed couple in the series. Yugi/Anzu/Yami Yugi is basically a love triangle that hardly got any attention. Judai-Kun and Asuka didn't get much in the original, and by the end Judai swore his eternal love to Yubel Yuma-Kun and Kotori are the classic childhood friends and Yuma is the dense shonen protagonist, but in the end Kotori takes the leap and straight up tells Yuma that she loves him Yuya and Yuzu had *A LOT* of ship tease, more than any other protagonist/female protagonist I'd say, but nothing really came of it in the end So far, Yusaku and Aoi haven't had much ship tease, since they aren't even friends and barely interact which is new considering we're almost at the half way mark.
Yusei by far the best duelist without using any spirits to tell him how to duel . The crismon dragon is just a draw luck card. And i am not even a 5ds fan . Atem all the way but my respect is to yusei, the guy had a lot of shiet to deal with, friends, family , friend betraying him, police , being in jail, saving the world . Give respect to this man. The guy didnt have no one to show him how to duel , basically this dude gathered all his cards at a dumbster and became the best turbo duelist on his own
Savage Turtle yeah.. without the crimson Dragon, Yusei would have lost more than once, besides there is no point talking, since the dragon is Yusei helper, like Atem for Yugi, it just hard to tell
Finally, watchmojo content that truly caters to me. Though I'm a bit disappointed that Yusei vs Antinomy, Jack vs Crimson Devil, and Team 5Ds vs Team Taiyo didn't even make honorable mentions.
People really should learn to respect 5Ds it’s story telling was actually a lot better then Duel Monsters and GX. Not saying they were bad but 5Ds was fantastic
Michael Segal in terms of story 5ds was better written and it actually used its main cast all the way instead of alot iof them being sidelined like mokaba tea and tristen.
mega sean it was because Carlys original Japanese voice actor was found out to be part of a cult, and as a result, she got fired. And because they had to find a new voice actor for her, they basically had scrap everything about further developing Jack and Carlys relationship.
@@sloanewalker42 Yeah everything having to do with Carly and the occult had to be scoot away from hell I think Sherry being the first female Turbo Duelist (by Akizas perspective) was a result from that I think giving
I believe this had the potential to be the best yugioh series, poverty, depression, slave labour, this series had very adult themes and ended up being used only as merchandising to yugioh TCG. Still my favorite YGO series though.
Yugioh 5Ds is by far the darkest Yugioh series. It might as well be on the same league as Season 0. Especially if you watch the sub version to find out that: 1.Divine kidnapped and Lobotomize a bunch of children to build an army of psychics to cause mass genocide. 2.The Earthbound cards required the sacrifice of hundreds of souls from either Neo Domino City or The Satelight. 3. Divine kinda tortured Lua to test if he had any psychic potential. After the duel, Divine states that Lua has no psychic potential, but told him that Luca nor anyone else is going to leave the facility. At the sametime Yanagi (The old man) and Himuro was locked inside some chamber room. So if Divine was gonna keep Luca inside the building, and has no use for Lua, but told Lua his secret plans AND told him that no one's leaving; then you could guess what Divine was going to do to Lua, Yanagi, and Himuro. 4. Bommer's past and what actually happened to his village. In fact, the entire duel was sad. 5. Everything about Carly vs Divine. 6. Everyone about Yusei vs Rudgar (first fight) 7. In the tournament arc, Luca was being Mind break (I think that's the right term) by a psychic duelest. And he didn't have any good intentions.
1) The Arcadia Movement 2) The Earthbound Immortals are pretty messed up... 3) Sayer (Divine) is cuckoo-in-the-head... Good thing he got what was coming... 4) Of all the Dark Signers, Greiger is one of the ones you can't help but feel bad for... Others being Kalin, Misty and Carly. 5) Poor Carly... She didn't deserve to be thrown out the window by Sayer... 6) Spiders, Threatening to sacrifice children to Uru, Martha being absorbed by Uru, and Rally taking the bullet for both Yusei and Roman... 7) Fortune Cup: Loser's Bracket. Professor Frank (or just "The Professor") actually straight up *_hypnotizes_* Luna to try and gain access to the Duel Monsters Spirit World...
The lobotomizing of children was so bad he killed one of the dark signers younger brother because his psychic powers weren't to his liking setting out a chain of events for Misty to become a Dark Signer seeking out Akiza for revenge
Don't care who you are. 5D's is unquestionably the best of the Yu-Gi-Oh spinoffs. Because to me, it equals, if not surpasses, the original series. Did I mention that GX and the original series are canon to 5D's, because of Paradox being one of Z-ONE's allies? Also, Aki is undisputed best Yu-Gi-Oh girl; fight me!
Akiza doesn't have much competition, YGO is notorious for treating it's female leads pretty badly. Either they don't do much *(Anzu and Kotori)* or they start strong and fizzle out in the end *(Asuka, Akiza, and Yuzu....ESPECIALLY Yuzu....)* . Let's hope Aoi can break that trend.
Sadly, from what I've seen thus far. Aoi isn't looking good. Could have had a win on Soulburner, but nope. The writers just have to apply plot armor to anyone with an Ignis. Why can't she get hers already? She has one of the best decks possible at her disposal, but the writers aren't taking advantage of that. Yet, they'd do it for Blackwings!
My reason for saying Aki is best Yu-Gi-Oh girl was that she was unquestionably best among the main female leads in the series. But yeah, we start delving into positions beyond that and you start finding gems among Yu-Gi-Oh's female duelists. But riddle me this, did Carly single-handedly spearhead an entire monster type (Plants) not only resurfacing with new, good support, but make them tournament viable? Tragically, Fortune Ladies didn't get anywhere near where Plants did, especially Plant Synchros. Is Carly undeniably devoted to Jack, and does Jack share the same emotions? Yes. But Yusei pulled Aki away from years of ridicule, hatred, and pain, and turned her entire life around by trying to see her from beyond her powers and cold demeanor. Aki could have been a vastly different person from who she became. Heck, were she not a Signer, she could have been one incredible opponent to Yusei, especially if the Arcadia Movement was allowed to become an major antagonistic force. Carly, however, was turned against Jack in a cruel twist of fate. She became a Dark Signer simply because she was snooping around where she shouldn't have been, was killed by Divine, and the Earthbound Immortals took advantage of her connection to Jack to try turning Jack against the Signers. Carly's time being an adversary to the Signers was involuntary until Carly was convinced that turning Jack evil was the only way for them to be together again. Aki's motivation for being an enemy was because she had spent the majority of her life being treated as an outcast and a monster, even by her own father when it all began, and she chose to fight back against her accusers to make them pay for what they had made her out to be, rather than simply accept her for who she was.
It's an honorable mention, though I think Yusei winning was the better option, it gives Jack more of a reason to return to Neo Domino City and stay on his A-game.
5DS is my absolute favorite series and thing from the entire Yugioh series. I never thought I'd take card games on motorcycles seriously but they made it work so damn well.
The Finale Duel between Yusei and Jack is probably my favorite duel in Yugioh history, and I've seen them all. The score/songs, the message for each member of Team 5D's to pursue their dream, and the thrill of the back-and-forth card play was a fine piece of work.
The funny thing is that Crow was originally supposed to be the leader of the dark signers but he became a much loved character and the ending was rewritten
I love this particular Yu-Gi-Oh series. They took such an incredible dark turn with this one. It was clear that they were targeting more mature audiences with this one, and it worked really well.
tier zug but yet it is,.. 5ds was the one of the most beloved series on the Yu-Gi-Oh series. You've got the first protagonist who doesn't go crazy with their duelist spirit like Yugi/Athem, Jaden/Yubel, Yuya/Astral and Yuma/Zarc. First one to be fully undefeated on the series. And the YGO Franchise should be thankful for it cause it's one of the most beloved series on the franchise. It is dark actually but not as might as considered as dark as it is today. Just think about it, YGO Duel monsters and GX we're nostalgia but it differ so much compare to the change that 5ds have brought. It's the most successful series on the franchise. Then came Zexal and Arc-V,. I don't know what happen to the marketing strategy of the industry on how they're gonna tell the story but it isn't captivating enough for the fans to keep on remembering it. Zexal and Arc-V too have darker sides but still lack on dept and character development. Arc-V did some nostalgia trip to include previous characters but I guess it ain't that effective. I guess they have to open back to their old context and blue print on making l V-rain. They have to make their character a much more likeable and matured like Yusei to bring back fans to watch the franchise. I feel like you can't blame them if they can't stop comparing Yusako to Yusei.
You must be kidding! 5D's is my favorite Yu Gi Oh! Perfect video! I was so thrilled watching this video, I think I'll go back and watch this anime again... Jack vs Carly was the saddest duel, by the way... Not much because of the duel, but because of the outcome. Followed by Yusei vs Kiryu. This one hurt even during the duel! ;-;
I think you should do top 10 Yugioh Duel Monsters characters or top 10 Yugioh GX charaters. It would be cool to see your top pics and I always love hearing your info on them.
Yusei vs Akiza higher. Take Aporia's duel out, as it was really just Yusei getting through his boss monster, which he summoned right away due to his counterparts' efforts. Also, where the hell is Yusei vs Antinomy?
@@Succatag67789 I haven't watch vrains or sevens so I can't rank those. I didn't really like Zexel cause I found there was just to much similarities to DM so 5th place (I also didn't watch all of it), I have watched a decent amount of ark v (again not all of it) but I enjoyed it more than what I seen in Zexel so I'd put it in 4rth.
My Top 5: 1. Final Duel - Yusei Fudo vs Jack Atlas 2. Yusei and signer dragons vs Z-ONE 3. Jack, Rua and Ruka vs Aporia 4. Team 5Ds vs Team Ragnarok 5. Its to hard to choose between: Yusei Fudo vs Dark Signer Kiryu or Yusei Fudo & Kiryu Kyosuke vs Lotten or Aki Izayoi vs Yusei Fudo at Fortune Cup.
ah..5d's. The series where a lot of archetypes were first introduced, good storyline that I think surpasses the DM and GX and greater threats and opponents., Arc V is also good series.
KoneSkirata yeah Yeah ultimately I love all the series (well arc-v the least). But not only do 5ds and zexal hold a special place in my heart, 5ds had an amazing sound track, likable characters, a mature feel, a dark storyline that was gritty but not too edgy and speed duels added something both new and exciting. Zexal, although the beginning wasn't very good, those that stuck it out were met with again a great sound track, great twists, a tragic storyline, larger than life duels and interesting settings. Both series have its merits. Although the biggest downfall of zexal would be the actual ending, and terrible first season. The worst part of 5ds is probably a stagnant protagonist and the admittedly absurd concept.
Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's. Probably my all-time personal favorite Yu-Gi-Oh Series. This show has everything i wanted, A well written story, likable, lovable, relatable, unforgettable, iconic characters, wonderful animation, great villains, dark and mature themes, well voice acted (Sub & Dub),amazing monster cards,Snychro Summoning, intense, serious and epic duel battles and most importantly, Unforgettable Iconic Moments. No wonder this is one of Yu-Gi-Oh's best and biggest series since Duel Monsters. It changed a whole new generation of dueling.
Flaviuz Zexal imho is extremely underrated and actually quite well written. It did a great job at serial escalation and had deep, well-developed characters (especially Shark). The show’s antagonists had understandable motivations and the conflict between worlds wasnt just simply “good vs evil”. There is visible growth for most of its cast. Not saying its perfect (cus nothing is) but I feel it deserves *far* more credit. Its harder for me to defend Arc V though, because honestly that show turned into a mess (albeit a fun mess imo). Arc V’s characters were great too, even if they werent always utilized that well, most of them were still well executed and had great personalities. The plot was very ambitious and I loved what they were going for, along with integration of all the summoning methods. Arc V was yugioh’s attempt at being more extravagant and grand-scale, and while the overall result wasn’t the most favourable due to time constraints (and bad time utilization) it’s still a fun show with a lot of positives, and I cant help but admire what they tried to go for.
they actually decided to use the sub version? now this is a video I can like.the handless fight against Loton was not that bad either. but the fight agaisnt Zoen was more advanced on the scale of hope to bad one fight desotryed teh emotion when that character did not learn anything later. never give into despair, that is true
I honestly think the finale duel between Yusei and Jack deserved to be on the list. It showcased the growth each of them had during the series and brought things full circle.
Yusei vs Akiza is mine number 1. Akiza had Yusei on edge and I've never seen such crazy tactical skillful dueling before... Edit: HOLD ON, YUSEI VS APORIA IS NUMBER 1?!? But what about Yusei vs that villain from the mines?!?
I’ve grown to hate Crow over the years. The fact that Aki was pushed to the side and that he stole Leo’s destiny of becoming the fifth signer just to pawn off a few extra Blackwings always irked me.
Would have liked to see Team 5D's VS Team Taiyou on this list. The strategy to bring out Zushin was awesome, and it was priceless when 5D's figured out what they'd been planning.
