Hard to beat Rarity Collection, possibly the best set of all time! Loved the opening video too, was a great way to see all the variety of what was released this year.
Rarity collection and the 25th reprints (especially LOB) are very close for me too, this nostalgia you get when opening them hoping for like a Blue eyes. Brings back memories, good times🥲
My favorite set by far is rarity collection its not even close. Players coming back to yugioh can get good cards like ash blossom, infinite imperance, and so many good cards.
Wow age of overload is staked didn’t noticed but yeah rarity collection is just so good all packs opened contain amazing pulls so it’s hard to not put it in my #1 set
Rarity Collection, by far. Second place Battles of Legend, the alt art Sky Striker Engage looks awesome. But I won’t forgive Konami for not doing a 25th anniversary box for Magician’s force.
For me personally my favorite set has to be rarity collection just the fact that you can pull a lot of staple cards for deck building and for cheap for new or returning players is what did it for me
100% agree, Ruxin, the 25th anniversary reprint sets were my favorite of the year. Can't beat the nostalgia! Rarity set a super close second. Seeing the top 10, quality year all around.
First off I love when you rank sets. Always fun to see others opinions on sets to compare to your own. Especially ones from someone you respect. My favorite set of this year was Photon Hypernova. Got my first box of it for Christmas and was super pumped. Before it was just blisters. For me it is just the pulls I get from the set compared to others that places it at number one. Rarity is fun to open just not having the luck of pulling great yet. Plus it killed the value of my Pot of Prosperity.
Gotta go with Rarity Collection. The rarities make it so every slot could potentially be something cool and there's always a chance of coming across a favorite card in a form you haven't seen before
i am an advocate of the 25th aniversery box. soooo many good cards in so many good raritys. No bulk, just straight bangers. definetly my fav set of 2023. hell it may be my fav set ever lol.

And I have to say 25th anniversary booster/legendary collection best set released, it brought me back into Yugioh and opening all those old school packs like back when I was in high school, that nostalgia just can’t be beat! I jumped out of boots when I pulled B. Skull Dragon and getting back into Yugioh since 2008 and back into this awesome community and finding all the great content (You and others) idk 25th booster boxes is just way more to me the cards themselves, I’ve made new friends, met online friends for the first time at collectocon and started streaming on whatnot myself-all because of 25th legendary collection, it opened way more in my life and I’m grateful for it!
Totally agree with your choice. The only thing i hate about these reprints is the flat color and the new layout. But in a way it’s nice so that you can differentiate it with the good old OG card sets. Fav set in this case will be rarity collection just for the fun of opening the set and that it’s a nice set for both collectors and players.
Rarity collection is just so good as a set for collectors AND players, however just to give something different, I love Photon Hypernova as a set, got my 3rd ever starlight from it, tri-brigade arms bucephalus II. Of course Age of Overlord gets its mention due to Snake eyes, diabellestarr and S:P.
What’s up Ruxin, I think your list was good. I just got back in Yugioh recently when I found some of my first edition LOB cards again. I do not know much about the 2023 releases but I saw a LOB pack was re-released so that would be my favorite like it was yours.
For me, the best set of the year without a doubt is Rarity Collection, because it gives newbies the possibility of acquiring the best staples at a better price and all in the same set. I don't really open all the sets, so there are always some that are meh for me, but I agree with most of the list I would just change the rarity to number one, i also love the anniversary reprints sets too but the stores in my country did not carry it.
The LOB reprints are tops for me if they had put the Big 3 in rarity collection it would absolutely win. Close second tho! I still run a red eyes burn rogue deck today with synchros, link, and fusion side deck. Added a chaos and rokket twist it and it’s deadly.
To be honest, i actually agree with the list, it’s on point! But my favorite set of the year is actually “cyberstorm access” Not because it was the last set with starlights, but it has a lot of branded cards that are my favorite play style 😅 Since it is also the set that’s the final set that has branded cards, I enjoy the cards i have it it, but i haven’t got much of the set sadly enough, but from what i openened, i was lucky enough to pull guiding quem the virtuous & the bystial aluber. The colleat pulls of my year so far 😅
My favorite set was the legend of blue eyes 25th anniversary reprint. Beautiful set was super fun to rip with my kids and they're actually holding value
My favorite sets this year are two, for the same reason. Photon Hypernova and Cyberstorm Access, due to the release of the Gold Pride archetype, which I love and play. Then there's the Rarity Collection, I mean, best set for the players ever so I can't hide the sun with a finger hahah! And then, there's the classic sets 25th reprint. I mean opening LOB? MRD? SRL? That made me a happy man with every pack I open, not caring if I pulled big or not (which I still did and it was awesome). Nice top and really interesting take on this sets!
My favorite set of 2023 was Cyberstorm Access, the last hurrah for Series 12, especially for the cards available and the pulls I had from it this year Second for me would be Rarity Collection, then Monstrous Revenge
My favorite release easily was MRL, just being able to open that and pull a toon dragon again is something I never thought I'd experience again. Good list and I agree w rarity being in 2nd place and not first Also, I think having the prices shown on screen with the list would have been great QOL lol

I stopped playing Yugioh about 15 years ago, so I very much agree with the list mostly for the first place. Somehow I came across with your unboxing of the Legendary Collection 25th Anniversary and I really enjoyed it, so much so I bought one for myself. I haven’t bought cards since I stopped playing (I still have my binder with my some of my old cards). LOB is the very best!

I mean Age of Overlord is the Set that made me go back into modern Yugioh, Rarity collection did helped me get all those staples to compete and finally the 25TH Reprints make a childhood dream come true, since well when I was a child I couldn't afford buying a Booster box of those sets and open them now I did felt a lot of nostalgia and was a really wholesome and fun moment 😅
For me it's easily the same first place but not for LOB alone, rather all the early Sets together and to have them accessable again for good prices. The release got me back in YGO and not only as a collector. Even if LOB got really iconic cards I was more hyped for Metal Raiders and IOC because the sets have more nostalgia for me, altough I started with the original LOB back in the days.
Great vid Ruxin! The only rankings that I would change is switch Battles of legend and Photon Hypernova for 3 reasons. 1.) Photon is not a collector's rare set. 2.) It had one of the tier 0 formats in it for 2023. 3.) Konami made Thrust the funny meme 69th card. Edit: They also gave Mirrorjade the starlight rare treatment. BRANDED PLAYES REJOICE!!!
As a player of the branded engine, I can say that it is definitely difficult to beat Cyberstorm Access. The set has Quem which is a really useful card, if I got the opportunity to pull it, that’d be amazing. As for my list of top ten it goes: 1. Cyberstorm Access 2. Rarity Collection 3. Age of overlord (SP Little Knight) 4. Duellist Nexus ( chimera cards) 5. Battles of Legend: Monstrous Revenge 6. It's gotta be Rarity Collection, and hopefully we can get improved foiling methods that won't cause harm to cards when sleeved next year (you guys know they'll do Rarity Collection 2 since the first one sold like hotcakes and is still making sales)
I liked age of overlord because of the cool chase cards as well as some midrange cards. I feel the rarity collection is really nice for competitive but it is too many different rarities of the same card not really fun to pull tbh
My favorite is Age of Overlord. I just got back into Yugioh this November, and bought 3x Fire Kings Structure Decks. I would love to get some of the Diabellstar Snake-Eye package!
Personally for me its been age of overlord. I had fun with the rarity collection, but ive been consistently getting great hits from AGOV and a few from duelist nexus as well
I loved Rarity Collection, but I agree with having 25th anniversary as number 1. I can't tell you home many times this year I was at a store and someone that hadn't kept up with Yugioh saw those sets and were surprised and bought some just for the fun of it.
You definitely were right with the list! My favorite set has to be rarity collection because it gives us access to previously “expensive” cards for casual players and collectors!
