Bobbie Williams was a terrific free agent signing, taking over for Mike Goff at RG as an anchor on the Bengals line for eight years. He got very little recognition, but as with all great linemen he just brought his lunch pail and hard hat to work every day and got the job done. Levi Jones, Eric Steinbach, Richie Brahm, Bobbie Williams, and Willie Anderson from 2004-2005 has been my favorite Bengals offensive line of the last 20 years and ever since then it’s felt like we’ve been trying to get back to that level of dominance. It’s a shame the offense was so predictable at the time, but at least Palmer had good protection his first few years.

Coy Bacon was fantastic, well aged but still sizzling hot. Back then everyone else in Cincinnati loved Bacon too. Hell, they even appreciated Bacon up in Cleveland and over in Pittsburgh. People couldn’t get enough Bacon. I bet you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone at all who wasn’t just nuts about Bacon. I’m surprised we’re not all loving us some Bacon right now. But seriously, great player. 👍

Spikes in my opinion is the greatest linebacker to ever wear the stripes. I’m still not over the Bengals letting him go to Buffalo, and neither is Marvin Lewis. Spikes gave a terrific interview with his daughter after he was enshrined at Auburn that revealed some of his what he was going through while he was a Bengal. I highly recommend anyone who appreciates Spikes the Bengal give it a view.

As I recall Paul Alexander was able to tweak something in Bobbie Williams mechanics that completely transformed him as a pass blocker from his previous team.

Man, that Kruzcek game in the snow. That was their SB opening in the 70s. Great team.

6:33 - #16 Dewey Warren, the original "Swamp Rat", under center. He might not even make the Bengals' Top 1,000, but he was the starting QB in the Bengals 1st game. Rookie out of Tennessee.

One of my favorite defenders of all time was Reggie Nelson. Always a thorn in Roethlisberger’s side. ALWAYS came up with the big turnover. Legitimately sad, age aside, when he departed for Raiders in FA in 2016.

The Bengals didn't just draft Spikes & Simmons in the same draft but if I remember correctly they were consecutive picks in the 1st round.

Adam Jones career took off in Cincinnati when they stopped calling him Pacman.
