Its so strange how most of the indie games of 9 years ago are still recommended and relevant today, gotta love that!!!

I appreciate videos like these. This reminds me of another video called "100 Game Maker Games in 10 Minutes" which shows how eccentric, creative, talented, and brilliant some people could be. Some people just have a big world inside of their brains which is manifest via the games that they make. And we could see it in these kinds of videos.

If I had to swear my life by one game, that game would be Kentucky Route Zero - I actually can't praise it enough. (plus Year Walk and Banner Saga and Swapper and Dear Esther haha) Good on ya for including it and good list overall!

oddly, i put much more hours in some of these indie games than in AAA ones no need for a top end system (not that mine can't run crysis 3 at max), and some creative and fun gameplay, which known IP lack.

Good compilation! You got most of them down! Mount&Blade Warband is missing, but i don't complain.

You should add Sorcery! , Underrail and 80 Days next time to your lists. Some of the best indie games ever made. Massively underrated.

In my opinion, Indie games should be a feeder system for AAA games. These games are fantastic, don't get me wrong. But AAA is stagnating because they don't want to take risks. But when concepts are proven on a lower budget, I think they should be implemented in AAA games more.

I kinda missed Toribash and Hammerfight, lots countless hours playing those :D

This is a great list. But I'm hoping that u do it in a tier list or something. And for me, Bastion is the first thing on pop on my mind as well. Like how the mechanics of the game is even surreal. The narrator sounds so mysterious too. Like it feels so dreamy yet so relatable. So BASTION is a really strange yet fun experience. Audiosurf looked a lot like Amplitude/Frequency/Rock Band Blitz by Harmonix. Harmonix is an independent studio as well now, they started Indy got acquired by Viacom, and separated again. Another good stuidio to potentially include is Pixel Media, as they had some great indy titles like Splosion Man and the Maw. They joined MS for bit but are indy again now.

Once you accept that it's in no particular order, it's not a bad list. Though I am slightly disappointed that Freedom Planet, one of the best indie games I've played, wasn't here.

I can't answer to Chatlie Howell, Thanks to Google+: "Minecraft aint an indie game!" And I answer here: Now Minecraft is not indie game. No one disputes. In video you can see version of the game, before the deal with microsoft. Early versions was indie. Right? Of course it's true! All that was after is a "commercial product". Honestly, for a long time I was waiting, that somebody will write here similar comment.

No Skullgirls? Seriously? This game can be used as a blueprint for indie fighting games. Hell, for AAA fighting games too.

The lines can be blurry about what is considered indie, when you see some games (Amnesia, Legend of Grimrock and more) I thought they where from slightly bigger studios or more high production values, although they have the "indie character" of delivering something alternative to AAA games. And we are oversaturated from indie games, style of artistic/retro, too much to play, many look very interesting or good at first glance, not enough time to play.

Speaking of games, I recently discovered one indie, called "Logic Worm", is nice! Search for it in the Play Store, is free.

Outlast isnt a indie game, the developer of that game is Red barrels, who are a group of people who worked developing other games like Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell and Uncharted.

Im looking for an indie game that needs time and has a lot of depth in it, so i was thinking of trying haven & hearth. Anyone has any other suggestions? (preferably free to play and not shooter-like)
