@@arniikakuusisto7597 ...they aren't scared. What they are experiencing is a primal reaction to serpents. That reaction is to get away ASAP. It's self preservation and self preservation is never based in fear when it's instantly triggered. Out of all animals, cats have the best timing regarding the serpent reaction. To answer your question, it's funny af to me to see the cat so agile that it jumps out of frame. Sadly, I think you're projecting some sort of abuse towards the cat. It's not.

Thanks for your post. I thought it might be a fear of snakes. I once caught a little baby snake and put it on a bed. My cat at the time jumped up on the bed and his incredible, exaggerated responses had us all laughing to tears. This was before all these cucumber videos. Sadly, we had no idea, so no video was attempted. :(

Yup our bull terriers didn't like snakes or anything that looked like one.

I could test that theory. My cat isn't afraid of snakes. We have a garden out front that garter snakes like to hang out in. My front door doesn't have the best seal on it and a few times garter snakes have snuck in. They don't make it far because the cat likes to chew on them. They usually just coil up right there on the welcome mat probably terrified of the cat.

My cat used to bring them home to play. Maybe edit to many cats are afraid…
