The dreamcast has just that really aestheticly pleasing feeling to it, especially the cover art for some games, it just makes me think of those video game magazines from the early 2000s
They aged beautifully. If the console was a little stronger n played DVD, am sure Sega would still be makin consoles n have no partnership with Xbox or Nintendo back in the 2000s. Games like Max Payne were supposed to release.
Pretty decent?? For the time they far surpassed what the Ps1 and N64 offered. Even the PS2 didnt match the Dreamcast in terms of graphics. It failed due to bad timing and Segas bad track record of console releases. Even now with a VGA cable the graphics are super sharp
If SEGA Corp. would’ve waited just a little bit longer and developed the system more using a better graphics card and higher memory capacity plus the ability to play DVD was implemented in the Dreamcast’s design but never released due to poor sales of the console their game library and potential actually far outweighed what was offer on the market and actually equaled the Xbox original in terms of power and the Ps2 in terms of playability whereas the controller could’ve been more ergonomic the use of a controller bound visual memory card system which is something no other company even Nintendo thought to do was actually a huge hit VMU’s are the rarest part of the SEGA Dreamcast you could play mini games on the go and when you connected the memory card with your console you would receive bonuses depending on what game you played overall they had a really great idea but very poor time management and execution strategy
@@gpl992 tbh i'd recommend launchbox emulation instead. Easy to install and you can use a ps4/xbox controller via USB. If you have the funds definitely buy the system though as for £300-£400 you can easily get 20-30 games with a console in the UK.
So I’m just going to say right now that this console is one of the best consoles out there. It has a great library, it was ahead of its time, and for only 2 years on the market it created a dedicated fanbase. I’m just going to list a few essential games if you’re on this video to start a collection. - Crazy Taxi (1&2) - Illbleed - Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure - Maken X - NFL 2K1 - Quake 3 Arena - Resident Evil: Code Veronica - Shenmue - Sonic Adventure (1&2) - Soulcalibur - Street Fighter Alpha 3 - Tony Hawk Pro Skater (1&2) - Typing of the Dead (Sorry I didn’t list RPGs. I am not a fan of RPGs and I go mainly for other games.)
DarkSentinel the Xbox 360 was a shit console with a 54.2 defect rate. That’s 5 times the ps3. I can only imagine how high that number is now. I’m not even going to get into how PS3 had more(and better) games and had free online all while being a stronger console.
I wishI had this console back then. Some games still looks beautiful ! Some seems really funny too x). No wonder why I had great time on the original xbox. Jet set radio toejam and earl and game like that was coming from this console ^^
It's what monster hunter is based off of. and dark souls was based off monster hunter. Basically, made the foundation for the best real-time fantasy fighting system.

The console is even older than PS2 and yet the quality, This surprised me on some games here coz I remember my classmate having this console and he let me played but he only had few games. Never new there are lot of good looking games. 😅

@Retrogamer Dell Well, Yakuza is much newer and builds upon these games. But I have to agree, I played through Shenmue but never through Shenmue 2. They just didn't improve anything really over the first one in terms of gameplay and controls, and that's where these games really struggled.
@@hompnomp8553 yakuza and shenmue are completely different. Shenmue is meant to be a chill at your own pace type of game whereas yakuza is a crazy in your face action type of game. You really cannot compare the two as both are great
How do you know if you didn't play it? Shenmue 2 brought many improvements over the first one. The pace and story moves much faster (it contains 3 chapters after all). The story is awesome and the game is really good to convey the feeling of traveling abroad). I like it much more than the first one.
Sonic Shuffle is wath amrio party should be , but people get confused and hate it :( Luckly these people never got to the star map to have a real reason to complain :)
Skies of Arcadia is the best DC game. The most beautiful jRPG, not inferior to the FF series of games, which wins in particular due to the number of games in the series when SoA is only 1 part. Yes, it was not without a flaw, from which the lack of voice acting of the characters in most cases was the first to be thrown, but nevertheless, the game was unique in its own way and even now it is worthy. (a tear of a fan who is in vain waiting for a remaster)
Anyone know of a game that came out around mid to late 90's? It was a platform game and from what I can remember it starts you out in an airship cutscene with people conspiring against you, it either came out on PS2 or Dreamcast and I ask everywhere online and nobody is able to tell me what the game may be Update: its Alundra 2
