Something to consider in determining a good summer song: the wedding reception playlist. Besides being playable at the club and easy listening while crusing in the car, an easy dancable song with passable lyrics will get added to the wedding reception playlist in the summer, when most people will get married.

Before anyone says anything about Bruno Mars' lyricism, Look up his ballads like Talking to the moon or when I was your man or Too Good to say goodbye. Also consider the fact he's written for/with other artist like Adele's all I ask (Roomie's fav Adele song) aswell as for Brandy, Alicia Keys and Adam Lambert. Of course his most upbeat, fun songs get more popular but why would he write sad songs anymore when he's living life and can't relate to any of them.
