Great tips! One thing to consider…oil does get rancid over time, so it’s a good idea to let those countertop glass dispensers get completely empty and rinse them out with super hot water before refilling. Same with spices, nuts, dried fruits, coffee…anything that has oils or sugars.
AMAZING POINT!! Didnt even consider that but also having it set on my counter next to the stove and the amount of heat would prob make it spoil even faster. moving it now and will wash frequently :) Thank you!!
This is the first real raw NORMAL AND PRACTICAL kitchen organisation videos I have ever watched - I came for the convenience and stayed for her rawness UGH LOVE
Never ever is that going to be a thing we waste our time doing 😆 nor will we take the canned pop out of the pop case to put it in a plastic bin in our fridge lol
I am so fucking in love with this channel! Organization for actual people who do not want to redo spices from perfectly packaged to begin with! Thank you! Love you so damn much!
This is one of the most “regular people” kitchen organization videos I have seen! I am now going to take my Spicey Shelf thingys out of the box and use them. And subscribe as well 😊
Awesome video! I love when I watch a video and see someone being genuine and real. I think you may have convinced me to try the Tina turner’s out. I fought “decanting” spices for a long time, but now that I’ve done it, I’m so glad that I did. I bought ones that were the size of your organics ones on Amazon (they came with labels). And stood them up in a drawer, now I can easily find them and they take up less room.
So I actually like this content more than the unboxing videos. I’ve moved away from subscription boxes over the last year and am definitely more interested in home organization and ways to make my small house look nice but have it still be efficient. This was a great video. I’m literally buying every sink product and probably the lazy Susan’s (your Tina turners) too.
I think the spice shelf or spice step is a good idea, but if you wanted to put spices in different bottles, most of the work is done after the first time. After that you're just pouring a bottle out
Omg just got introduced to your site for the first time and must admit l had a shit load of fun. I am trying to figure out what to do with my small kitchen cabinets. None of them are big enough for Tina Turners, and my big kichen with an island has 3 stinking drawers. Thin drawers at that. So l bought a bathroom storage thing that gave me 2 deeper drawers, 2 doors that open underneath, and an open area between them for towels. One day when l win the lottery l am going to remove these worthless cabinets and put in some big enough for a kitchen and remove the damn wire shelves in my pantry so l can put Tina Turners in there. Ugh. Nice to meet you, hello from Texas.
@@TheElevatedHome a lot of the makeup channels are transitioning and I'm loving it. I was drawn to RU-vid for makeup 2 years ago but I'm ready for more. And I think I came at just the right time. BTW, I'm in love with your hair. I had spent 3 years letting my gray grow out and I ended up coloring it a color similar to yours. 😄
I love organizing, so the new direction is calling to my heart!!! I have quite a few of these products and I'm in the middle of a whole home reorganize right now!
U r my type of person!!!! U have a new subscriber. Ur honest and don't try to be funny. Just urself. U don't talk and have a long ass intro, just down to business. Thank you.
Omg I didn’t know you had this channel! I was like that looks like C.H.! I was right. Lol. I’m glad you’ve expanded your filming and we get more videos from you. I love these types the most.
I don't understand the rebottling of spices either. I would however take the spices that come in resealable pouches and place them in empty spice bottles but that's abou the extent of it. I need ideas for a pantry. Right now I'm using a bookshelf with collapsing bins. It was great in the beginning but now they're just pissing me off.
Lmao! Chrissy... I'm such a dork! I didn't even get the play on words! Lol. I love it.😘 "Elevated" OK. I LOVE the Tina Turners/ lazy Susans. I have a few.
Hey girl! If you ever get the time I'd love a link to your Playlist. You always play really good music, but I never know the songs. Much love. Also, digging the home organizing. I have the hardest time not cluttering like every surface. :/
It def takes forming a new habit to make clutter less - don’t be hard on yourself! I’ll look and see if the music is available outside of the Epidemic Sound subscription I have, I bet a lot is!
"expired?" No - it's a Best-By date. Most processed foods do not "expire." The military uses food 7 years beyond the Best-By date. Throw it out because you don't use it or don't like it but throwing it out immediately after the Best-By date is just wasteful.
I have to get that caddy omg I have scrapers for my stones and sponges all over the front of my sink! I tried to use condensed milk that was two years expired haha it gets real chunky. Omg I already have that spice rack I love it in the back of my cabinet I have spices and little cans like tomato sauce and little mushrooms, I don’t have all that nice space u do I love your kitchen!
My daughter is always listening! 😆 but she knows the real bad words are the ones that hurt feelings and not the ones that are usually just used for emphasis like ‘shit!’ And as much as I’ve sworn in front of them they just don’t swear at all - I think the novelty of a bad word is lost on them lol
We just got our first place and I am so glad youtube sent me your way. You are logical and real, not to mention chill as hell. TY TY TY for making these!! Quickest sub of my life.
You don't need a special funnel for spices; just use separate pieces of paper folded 1 to 1.5 inches back from the edge. I just filled a bunch of narrow-opening spice jars that way, one half sheet per spice flavor. Did it on the couch, watching TV. Didn't spill any spice anywhere. The problem with using a funnel is that you have to wash and dry it between spices. Use separate pieces of paper. I actually do like having uniform spice bottles. I run two extension rods left to right above shorter bottles and jars in my "Flavor Cabinet" next to the stove. One rod a little farther forward is slightly elevated in relation to the one close to the back of the cabinet. The spice bottles are labeled on the bottle AND on the cap (they can't be mixed up if more than one spice bottle is open at the same time) and the spice bottles laid on their sides on top of the rods, so you can read the label on the caps. You can add a 2nd or 3rd row of bottles by raising the shelf above. I'm currently trying out clear bottles stored against the inside of that cabinet door with nylon clips just for the most frequently used spices, while the less-used ones are in amber bottles (to protect against light breaking down the spice components) set on extension rods deep in the back of the cabinet. I plan to store a backstock of whole spices in 4oz amber jars in a basket at the very top of that cabinet (I'll only need about 7 spice jars). This U-shaped spice organizer would drive me crazy. I don't have the room for this in my tiny kitchen. The amount of bottles of sauces and oils and other flavor necessities would block my access to the spices. Gotta say that I was in the same camp about lazy susans; they seemed like a waste of space. But I'm now of the opinion that careful use of them can be very helpful in kitchen efficiency. It's not just about storage; it's also about quick access when you need something. No matter how you go about organizing a space (Kitchen/Fridge/Freezer/under sick, whatever), any organization has a space cost you don't realize until you attempt to put in a system. Until you trial a system, you rarely grasp what that space cost will be.
1st time watcher and I love you!! Subscribed!! But I do have to point out you calling the spinning tray a Tina Turner. Never heard that name before. We call them Lazy Susans. 😂
I just found your video. I probably won’t be back. The cursing is unnecessary. Thankfully no kids were around. Good information and I think I would have enjoyed your channel.
New subscriber here!!! This is my first video I’ve watched of yours and I love your personality so damn much!!!! Headed to binge watch your other videos 😆
@@TheElevatedHome lol I guess? I'm not in Manhattan. So it's a little different. Everything is very convenient, especially to someone like myself who doesn't drive. I love it! 🤷🏻♀️
Ooohh great idea...runs to kitchen makes an iced decaf cold crew (homemade) with oat milk and a splash of macchiato caramel creamer, and jumps back in bed to continue watching your video. Happy Days ☀️🌈💃
@@TheElevatedHome I purchased a cold brew maker from Amazon and use the following ratio 1 cup ground coffee per 40oz of water. I leave it in the counter for a few hours, stir the grinds a few times then place it in the fridge for at least 12hrs, I cannot find decaf cold brew anywhere so I resorted to making it at home and yes starbi’s gets hella expensive, enjoy and let me know ♥️
