My experience 16 oz is light on the heart of winter. Your lower body with feel the cold of winter nights with 16 oz. Samurai has the right idea with its 17 and 18 ounces
no one can dispute they have the best construction. the only point people would make is they dont have crazy one offs with all kinds of awesome wackiness going on. i love samurai for that reason i got the water denim on special and it has weird gold buttons, a natty indigo weft, a bunch of messaging on the inside about the book of 5 rings by miyamoto musashi, natty herringbone pockets and natrual indigo dyed lining and i got all that for 100 less than a pair of 21 oz 777s

strike gold are amazing. the 24.8 super hard is basically something designed to win comps!!!! i cant wear them they are too gangsta for me!!!!! now i might be wrong but i thought they werent going to make these anymore. strike gold also have a reputation for hardware that rusts and gives an amazing character to their jeans as they age. i dont have an information regarding whether they use the rusting hardware with these jeans but would be keen as to find out!!!
the rusting hardware and the properties of the denim i cant wait to see whether someone out there tougher than i am is able to climb the indigo invitational to the top spot with a pair!
Iron Snail has a video featuring them going through denim from 8.75oz to 40oz. He has the most entertaining, well edited videos if you aren't already aware of him, I highly recommend him. Bahzad from naked and famous recommends him, Weston from Rose Anvil recommends him (why I started watching and how I got into raw denim.

Soso has too many options lol. I need to find more denim with a higher rise like the true guy fit have. I can't stand jeans sitting below my hips. I like the waist at my waist. In like 2003-04 we'd go thrifting for those 90s fits ,then skinny fit became mainstream, but they cut the rise below the hips and I'm over its. But, besides Naked and famous obviously, do you have any recommendations for a company with a fit with a rise around 11.5" in a 32" waist?
@@JoeyDecay personally I don’t look for rise, I like low, mid or high. I would say just take the time to check out all the Japanese brands, I feel like they will have the most high rise options since they love the original Levi’s. Tanuki, TCB, Oni, Japan Blue, Pure Blue, Fullcount, Studio D’Artisan, Warehouse, maybe even Left Field NYC or Mister Freedom
@@snuffspoon oni has some great options actually. It's just overwhelming to look through all the brands. Tcb is okay too but kinda light. I might just get a pair of ONI. They have like 11.9" rise in my waist, which I could go to 31" in my actual waist but I like the extra room so I go 32. I need some more midweight denim. I have 1 pair of 15.7oz momotaro but othe than that I go from 12-14.5oz then 18-22oz. So I'm a little bummed about the 15oz jeans N&F dropped, but I want more Japanese brands. But thank you. Anything lightweight (around 14 Oz) is my go to when the temps get too high. I love the fades the come with the high temperatures, but not the heatstroke. 😂 👊 👊 Most brands will make something around the 14 Oz range like the Iron Hearts I mention in the video. Hope this helps. 👊 👊
