My grandmother can’t sleep without the lights on because she is scared she will wake up and be back in that place. There’s so much more and even us the youth have been effected by the long term effects

my dad went to the residential school and he lost a couple a friends and when he got out he was not the same he drinks smokes and he had many children wanting them to remember our language cause they tried to make him forget

Our missing and murdered men and women, the children that were kidnapped during and after the sixties scoop. Everything, it makes me sad I do not know my language my culture or traditions. 😢

The native community in my area are working hard to repair that damage and I have extreme respect for them. It seems like this list was highlighting lesser known and, in some cases, more mysterious events. Another similar incident like the ones you mentioned would be the University of Texas at Austin shootings by Charles Whitman, who climbed a tower on campus and killed a number of students. It was really the first widely known school shooting to have happened; However, it's only the fifth most deadly school attack worldwide. An arson in Kenya had 67 victims, followed by the Bath school disaster in America where a school was blown up with 45 deaths. A terrorist attack in Nigeria on a school claimed 43 lives, then we have the Virginia Tech massacre with 32, Sandy Hook with 28 (I think?), before arriving at Whitman's 17. Columbine probably ranks about the 8-9th deadliest behind the Montreal Nursing Student deaths and a few other events I can't recall. Most school attacks tend to result in a single death, if that, thankfully. Of course, it's the bigger tragedies that grab our attention.
