I thank the Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs for bringing up the Jus Saniguinis principle that forced Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta and Binibining Pilipinas to reinstate Venus Raj as MUPH 2010. Because had Nicolette Henson, her replacement at that time, was unplaced in MU 2010, you would've seen a lot of Filipina turned their backs on Binibining Pilipinas and join other organizations like Miss Earth Philippines.

I understand why the IMG/FOX era want to do the five-five-five-five era so that a region like Europe have a shot to compete for the Miss Universe title, but are some nations trying to win? Probably not. You're still going to have the Africa and Asia-Pacific region and Latinas hog up most of the Top 20 semifinal spots.

Regional is much better because all the country epecially Asian countries will have a chance to atleast get a placements in that Miss U competition not just the latin and european country that always reign for the past decade.
